Vacations to Family Reunions with Cozy Nest Adventures

@danthedewman1 we get it to about 60 and it is warm enough..
get and keep 3 years ahead..its seasoned and if there is a situation where you cant cut fpr a time, you still will have firewood
@danthedewman1 that is great plan for next winter!
The camera guy is a heavy breather

This is Tiny! He has been hanging in the house! Now he had to go to the cabin so we could start our adventure! You've got this!
❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Good Day from Charleston,SC ! New subscriber/follower. very nice cabin.
Hello! Thank you
Ask Chuck!
🤣
Nice cabin !
Thank you!
Hello there, I was wondering, if I can share with you the most important thing. God the Father sent His holy Son Jesus to earth, to be born of a virgin. He grew up and died on the cross for our sins. Then He was put into a tomb for 3 days, after that Abba Father raised Jesus to life. He appeared to people, and went back to heaven. We all must sincerely receive Jesus into our life to be God's child. John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name" Will you today genuinely by faith receive Jesus into your life for salvation?
Thank you !
why did god kill all the other animals not on the ark
Well because I love her!
Our families cottage that was built in 1949 by my father-in-law is only 50sf larger and has three 8x9 bedrooms and one 3x6 bathroom all on one floor, the main room is 12 x 20 one half is the dinning room and the other is the living room, kitchen is about 9 x 11. I prefer the efficacy kitchen over the large kitchen at our house. Enjoy the process of making your cabin into a home.
That is priceless to have something to enjoy that your father-in-law built! Thank you for sharing. That is the key, isn't it? Enjoy the process!
Why just why would you follow her directions when she has NO reasonable skill to GIVE THEM TO YOU??? THIS WAY?????????????? LOL!!!
Emmigrating soon to a country with real strong and cold winters so not really sure how much wood will be needed in the house but i will just get a massive amount so i'm always in the safe.
Too much is defiantly a better place to be in, good luck!
A friend in MT, wood stove only said around 22 cords for the winter.
@@johnbland1422 WOW, that's a lot of wood!
Always hit the bucked up wood on the edge for a 1 hit split.
We burn through 3-4 cords to heat our 1000 sq ft log cabin in N Wisconsin
Do you keep it going throughout the day, or is it mainly morning and night?
Once the weather gets cold enough the stove is burning 24/7. Our stove can hold coals for 12+ hours so mostly just load it up once in the morning and once in the evening. The colder it gets we could load it 3-4 times per day.
don't burn pine in your stove stops up the pipes
Thank you for your insight! I will have to do some more research on that and make sure we are taking precautions.
Pine is fine! Old wives tale. As long as it’s good and dry you can burn any type of wood. Wet wood clogs pipes.
Exactly @@wobdeehomestead
I burn mostly pine and as long as it's dry it's great it just burns really fast
@tesoro2250 that is what we are finding out.
If you think you have enough wood, you don't. You can never have enough depending on your location and the winter there. Here in Nebraska, you can have fairly mild winters or very cold ones with a lot of snow. Need to prepare for the worst case. I just burn for supplemental heat and work 40 hrs a week, so I'm not home to put wood in the woodburner every day all day. I currently have 2.5 cords and will have to ration to make it till spring. Highs in the 50's currently and have not started a fire yet.
Isn't that the truth! Always prepare for the worst. Best of luck with the ration, I hope you have what you need to stay warm this winter.
Our place is in southern West Virginia. Old drafty house burn mostly oak and maple. Our fisher woodstove isnt suoer efficient either. We usually go through 5-6 cord a winter. We still havent had our first fire yet this season, but its comin quick.
That is a lot of wood! It's amazing all the factors you have to consider when you are preparing for winter. Stay warm!
Randal and I better take a trip there to get some onion rings. He's on a quest for the best onions.
They were really good! If you stop by you'll have to tell us how they rate.
I love good home made onion rings!!
Nice. Cozy. Is that a door coming from outside at the end of the storage/laundry room? if so, it can also serve as a mud room.
Yes, it does! A mud room would be great so I don't have muddy boats going through the main room. I just need to figure out storage so we can walk through.
When I used to make bread, my recipe made 3 loaves and I would give one away, slice and freeze one, and have one out for the kids.
Giving some away is always a great option!
I like how a woman just takes over a man's hunting cabin
It's a good thing he likes me being around :)
My cabin is 24x32 one level, 2 bd, 1 ba, great room, kitchen and utility room. I built a hidden pantry into an interior wall, we used 2x6 when we framed that small wall, pantry measures 28 wide by 9’ tall by 6” deep and we built a barn door so it doesn’t swing into the room.
You got a lot in that space, that amazing! I love the hidden pantry idea.
Keep it simple and rustic looking.
Less is more for sure in this cozy space!
my first thought was.....how cold are those floors ? ......buy plenty of wool hunting sox 😉👍
The floor does get cold. Slippers are a must in the winter. I'm thinking I do need a rug in the front room. Just trying to figure out a size that will work with the fireplace.
Pretty fancy compared to my trappers cabin 😂
I'll have to add a pic of the old toilet hole from when it was first built. It's right between the windows, between the futon and the table.
Nice cabin. First thing that comes to mind is more windows. Always nice to have a view outside if you're going to live in such a beautiful location.
Thanks for your idea. I agree 100%, more windows would be great!
Very Nice Home ( Cabin)!!
Thank you!
All of my kids loved going for rides in it. I did, too.
Thanks bro! It was fun!
What a fun ride!
It was a ton of fun!
Sounds Awesome to me.....
Thanks!
Love this cabin!
Thank you!
Looks great, it’s always going to be a work in progress!
Thanks! That is so true, there will always be something to work on.
Beautiful place you should hinge the ladder so you can pull it up during the day
Thank you! That is a great idea with the ladder. We thought a lot about that. Right now it has 2 sets of hooks. One while it is in use, then another set to lift it to stand straight to get it out of the the way.
I think it’s awesome that you are sharing your authentic journey and I look forward to seeing what you both do next!
Thanks! It will be a journey that's for sure!
