    Hi Chloe, I just found your channel, and I'm so happy I did. I feel your pain with your hair. Mine is just like yours, except it's more curly in the back than in the front. I have struggled with it for years. It's nice to watch someone who has the same problems, and I will be trying some of the products you recommended!

    I can tell you’re getting better at your routine. Hair looks s little curlier. If you want more volume once you’re done you could try spraying in a product like Living Proof’s full dry volume & texture spray. Works wonders to create some lift at the route. When your hair is dry, pick up small sections and quickly spray a blast of this product at the root, don’t use too much. It will really help you create some volume and lift. Another product to try is by AG Care called Spray Body. It is a soft hold volumizer and works kind of like a hairspray. Since your hair is very fine and low density (like mine) you need to go for lightweight products with slip. If you’re using a sticker gel and you find your hair is sticking to your hands when you scrunch just wet your hand a little before scrunching. You can even spray a little water into the palm of your hand on top of the small amount of gel you’re using. Again I recommend Gina Marie’s channel and her website to find products for your hair type. It does take me over an hour to wash, condition, add stylers and blow dry. You’re doing good just keep going😊. Edit: I believe CurlSmith makes a line of products for volume.

      It's been a minute since I've tried anything from Living Proof.. I will have to revisit their line! Thank you for all the encouragement and products and the channel recommendations... and it is comforting to know I'm not in Crazy Town without being able to do all this in under an hour!!

    Good video. I am a curly girl and can remember people telling me when I was little that they would kill to have my hair! All I could think of is that I would kill to have straight hair😂 My first piece of advice would be not to have your hair so dry when you’re styling it… It needs to be more wet. If you take it down out of your towel and it has started to dry, spray it down with water before you start styling/adding gel. Secondly, I don’t recommend Bounce Curl products/styling gel creams for your hair type. Your hair is like mine and it is too fine for the Bounce Curl products. The lady that owns Bounce Curl has very thick course curly hair and she designed her products for people with hair like her. I recommend that you check out Gina Marie’s RUclips page and her website. Her website is awesome. It is all about helping people find the right products for them. Gina Marie also has fine low density curly hair even though she says her hair is coarse feeling. I believe that you need lightweight products that won’t weigh down your waves yet still give hold. If you watch enough of Gina’s videos, you will find products that will work for your hair type. You’ll want to try a styler with some slip to it (you mentioned your styling gel felt sticky). Try Giovanni’s Curl Jelly or perhaps a mousse by Not Your Mother’s. Good luck…you’re on the right path. And just so you know most curly girls don’t get the same result twice since the weather is a big part of our curls.

      Thank you for the Gina Marie rec -- I'll have to check her out! Oohh I have a curly mousse by a brand called cake. I have to learn how to use it. I was hoping it'd be a lighter version of gel but I need to do some more experimenting, it still doesn't come out quite right. I wish I could just use curl cream and have that be it but I think that's asking for too much lol

  • @MusicInMotion_67

    You put too much gel at the crown. It's noticable.

  • @MusicInMotion_67
    @MusicInMotion_67 9 дней назад

    You're shaking it way too much after running the brush through. This will undermine your whole purpose for using the brush in the first place, which is to get more clumps and less stringy curls. Just a slight shake then scrunching is where you'll see the most benefit. By shaking it as vigorously as you are you're undoing the clumps which will not only make it stringy but also more frizzy. So less shake more scrunch. Also, when you diffuse it, make sure once your hair is about 80-90% dry turn off the blow dryer, make sure your hands are completely dry. Not wet or damp and then scrunch out the cast. Let it air dry the rest of the way as you scrunch. If you do it with wet hands it'll cause frizz. I would also do some of that diffusing and scrunching upside down for more Volume.

    Hiya! Not sure how I ended up here, but I did and I'm glad. So, about me, I'm Asian and maybe very slightly darker than you. I chose 24w after comparing everything I could find off the internet, and I am very pleased. I'm in my early 40s, combo, sometimes dry and flaky due to Vegas heat. This foundation with a very light hand is even better than my Haus Labs (190) and Nara Light Reflecting (Punjab) which are my former top contenders. I've noticed oxidation during the day. Good thing 24w is slightly light going on because as the day goes on it matches me pretty spot on. Go very light and build up on spots that might need it. And because coverage is crazy, contour and bronze to give dimension back to your face. I personally do not change foundations during the year because I avoid being out in the sun and tanning. 24w looks good on you maybe as a summer shade? That 23 you tried on last might match you better year round? I can't really tell what your true undertone is due to your different lighting. My best recommendation is get your closest foundation matches, wear a low cut top and swatch on your chest. Go on with your day and check a few hours later and the one that disappears is the best match! Also, did you see that Tirtir has more colors coming out soon? Maybe you would land perfectly in the 22 (w or n) range for a good year round shade! I'm planning on picking up a lighter shade as a concealer and maybe a darker shade for contour. Lol. Under my eyes, Tirtir creases less than my favorite concealers! Best of luck finding your perfect match. Hope you retry 23n and 21w for a few hours maybe half face each. They might oxidize to your perfect match!❤

      Hi!! I'm glad you ended up here too! Tysm for your thoughts, and eeeek at vegas weather.. Ok, if this foundation can survive that, that says something! I did feel at the end that the 24w ended up looking a little, uh, too sunkissed. But the neutral felt really flat. I think i have enough of the 23 left to do a full face tomorrow, i will try it and report back! I JUST heard that tirtir is adding new shades 😱 and that they'll be available on stylekorean. If I stay up late enough, it will happen!

Ugh never filming in that room again

    Your hair is very curly from the last video. You did a good job. I’m not good at sectioning my hair so watching you helped me a lot to just take my time. You did the BC brush well. Your hair type may benefit from the other brush they have, the volume brush. The spaces are alot tighter. I have brushes and if I want volume I go to the volume brush. For the one piece at the end that didn’t really curl I have that happen to me too. What I do is use the BC brush and then I finger coil the strands that don’t curl with the brush.

    Hi Chloe. You are very brave! Thank you for sharing. As a curly girl, I have some basic suggestions. Whatever your natural hair color is (what you were born with not the current gray), go back to that including your eyebrows. Every woman looks the most beautiful in their natural hair color. Make sure your makeup is changed to compliment it. Don't underestimate the damage that poor quality hair color lines can do to your hair. Find the best quality for your hair and don't go to a stylist that uses anything else. Also find a master stylist in that color line. Right now your hair looks thin and super damaged like straw and the color fights with your natural skin tone. Your hair also doesn't look naturally curly - maybe slightly wavy and super thin. Don't refer to influencers who have natural super curly hair and think you will get the same result as them with your hair or the products they use. Seriously whoever you are trying to mimic, take their photo to the salon and have the stylist explain why you can or can't achieve that look. Find a good shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair. Find one or two simple styling products that don't dry out your hair and work for your hair type. Someone who is using a ton of different hair products is wasting money and in real life their hair feels like garabage. Influencers make money promoting lots of products. Don't underestimate the value of a really good diffuser. When you find the best one for your hair type buy a couple to keep in reserve for down the line. Look around you in real life and find someones hair who is similiar to yours and who has achieved the slightly curly/wavy look you are wanting - compliment them and ask for their stylist name. That referral will be worth more than anything you will learn on RUclips.

    First of all - have fun learning. In time you’ll change your routine and the products you use. It will get easier. You also want the hair to feel like seaweed when styling/putting in product. Using the bond repair products does make a difference with the curls. On your hair being more relaxed mid-end is most likely due to it being higher porosity. If you stop bleaching/strait ironing your newer hair will be healthier and the curl pattern will also improve. I have 2C grey hair, low porosity and my curl pattern over a year period increased to 2C from 2B also the hair products I use have changed. The healthier your hair becomes I found the less moisturizers I needed. As you noticed the cast you left in your hair helped to keep the curl overnight - if I do my hair at night I never scrunch the cast out until the next morning. If you use a bond repair treatment I find a conditioner isn’t necessary if you put in a curl cream as one of your stylers. If I clarify my hair then I do condition as well as curl cream, but not with a normal curl shampoo. I found I get the best curls if I style in the shower on dripping wet hair (including the gel). Then I get out of the shower and plop for 5 minutes to get out excess water don’t plop too long, then diffuse. The plop will remove some water/product which will help decrease the time you need to diffuse. I would look for videos on how to diffuse, most curly tutorials assume one already knows.

    • @HenloHome
      @HenloHome 23 дня назад

      thank you so much! I need to practice plopping. I did it yesterday and I looked crazy. I think it gave me frizz too. not sure. and good point about checking out diffusing-specific videos, so true!!

  • @talaaa2897
    @talaaa2897 Месяц назад

    Oh and if you want more tension and feel that teh amount of tension you apply is different every time you style., try taking vertical section- clean vertical sections will give you more tension i think- at the bottom you did more horizontal partings- i also recommend parting you hair head in two section so that you can get cleaner horizontal partings at the bottom

  • @talaaa2897
    @talaaa2897 Месяц назад

    So to answer your question Miss, about the bounce curl brush, all you have to do is just run along the length of your hair- dont sweat it. When were using the denman brush its best to press your finger against the spine of the brush for more tension. But because this brush already gives you the tension you need you can skip that step- or you can absolutely continue doing that cuz why not, you dont have to shake it at the end- and you can just wait until the end to scrunch all your hair at once. As for you hair not springing up immediately that simply because everyone’s hair is different- and using the ribbon curk technique usually causes the hair to temporarily straighten, but it will spring back if your hair is curly and has good elasticity But since your hair is wavy this could take a while- you might need to wait till the end to see the final result, and if you find this brush gives you too much seperation then try using the denman brush with same ribbon curl technique. Since this brush gives so much seperation it might not be ideal for wavey hair.

    • @HenloHome
      @HenloHome 23 дня назад

      Got this.. thank you! I will keep experimenting, and maybe give the denman brush a try!

    You did great! 👏🏻 It's a huge learning curve and you will get there! It's just a matter of figuring out what products/combination of products work best for you. 😉 I have gray, fine wavy/curly hair and I get the best results by applying products in the shower, just before I step out, when my hair is sopping wet. At this point, I'm pretty much only using a curl cream but sometimes I'll use a little gel or a mousse/foam, too. I'm sure since this video is from a couple months ago, you're much more comfortable styling it by now! ❤

    Hey there, great video!! It sounds like we have similar curl patterns. I would suggest using a spray bottle to keep your hair soaking wet and section your hair when you’re putting your product in and then using the brush. I use a spray leave in conditioner with heat protection then I use a curl cream. After doing the brush I apply a mousse and then a gel. Then I diffuse. You will definitely find a technique that works for you in time!!!

      I have seen others use a spray bottle, too actually.. I might have to try it! Thank you for your thoughts, suggestions, and vote of confidence!

    l like this video. From what I understand, the brush isn't meant to curl your hair, it's meant to gather your strands into "curl families' or clumps, to help define the curl pattern you naturally have. I have been on a similar journey. My hair does the same kinked telephone cord trick now and then. I have learned to ignore it :o). Curlsmith products are great! Like others have said, try to do your hair routine on soaking wet hair, adding more water with hands or a spray bottle, as needed. This will help with more evenly distributing the product. You can always remove excess moisture later, with a microfibre towel. Trust the process, your hair will do better with things that don't work for others and vice versa. My most important lesson in my wavy/curly hair journey was to stop trying to get the same results as others who had different hair than mine. I could admire their curls and waves and also my own, even if they were not identical. I have low density, fine, 2a-3a waves and curls. Small amounts of product and just using one or maybe two products works best for me. Let your hair show you how it likes to be! Try not to rely heavily on product to achieve a result. It's only there to support what you already have. I wish you well in your journey. Your hair is truly beautiful. I hope you learn to love it more and finally find that goldilocks routine. Thanks for the video!

      Noooo wwaaayy, I don't often know of people whose hair does the twisted telephone cord thingy!! Ahhhahah hopefully I will learn to ignore it too. and to love it more. I am trying :D I love your kind words and your wisdom and will go back to reading this comment on my bad hair days.. thank you so much for stopping by! <3

      @@HenloHomeI thought I was alone in many of my hair struggles too. Thank goodness for RUclips, though I have to say it can also create unnecessary envy or a false sense of need to try a product in the hopes it will give me the same results the user gets. Embrace your natural self. Who you are on the inside will shine through. Be yourself…….everyone else is taken.

    When your hair cools down from the dryer touch it, especially at the roots, as gently as possible. If any part of your hair is cold, it’s still wet. Also, try using k18. It really helped my curls come back. You can use conditioner with K18 so long as you wait 4 min first, then add conditioner and let it sit then rinse and continue to style as normal. best of luck ❤

      OOoohh good tip on the cold hair, I will try that! Oh I had bought K18 but a little small sampler thingy -- I could definitely use more of the leave-in. I didn't think of using conditioner after the K18, I think that will help too! Thank you for stopping by

    I just want to say that although we have different hair typing I can 100% relate to your struggle in high school because I didn’t know how to take care of curly hair. I literally paid for multiple Brazilian blow outs for straight hair and got told all the time people pay for your curly hair lol. Only since the pandemic did I start learning how to style my hair. No more flat ironing!! Thanks for this video you said some very real things that made me feel less alone in this world

    Your hair is super similar to mine. I have a few tips: wide tooth comb in the shower while rinsing so you’re smoothing down the hair with the water. Then only lightly blot the water out with a microfibre towel at the bottom of the hair - again to keep it smooth and naturally clumped. Put in *all* your products by sectioning the wet hair and use praying hands - don’t scrunch. Squish with the towel again if ends get too wet. Then go through with your brush to style it. Air dry or use the diffuser by holding it on the side of your head - never scrunching it up into the bowl. Dry it to like 80 or 90%. Only then if you want some volume, flip it over and use the diffuser on the underside of your hair - it should fluff up when you flip it back over, but avoiding the scrunching other people do. Scrunching makes my hair a tangly ugly mess.

      I JUST bought a wide tooth comb because of your comment... it arrives on Saturday and I can't wait to try it! I honestly have been afraid to try diffusing without bunching it up in the bowl because I'm so afraid it will dry really loose and not structured. But I am open to not having my fears met... I won't know til I try it! Thank you for all your suggestions, I will try it out!

    The diffuser is heat, but it’s not direct heat. It’s more spread out therefore less damaging. 😁

    I was looking for opinions on this brush, so your video was very helpful to me. I do have a Denman brush, but don’t use it very often. I may have a bit more curl than you do, and my hair is 90% white now. I have had fairly thick, silky soft hair that is just fuzzy frizz. I only learned that mine was curly about four years ago. I think that if you shake the strands a little harder and follow that right away with some upward scrunching, it will work better for you. I agree with others that it needs to be wetter, too. You may want to hold the brush vertically as you make the strands. I think it will make your hair into more coils.

    Chloe, thank you for this! 1. Start with wetter hair. 2. Use either curl cream or a leave-in conditioner (sparingly) all over your hair. 3. Follow with a mousse if you have any, if not, who cares. 4. Perfect gel choice! Follow Curlsmith directions, work gel throughout your hair, then use a brush (I'd use the brush you're demonstrating) thoroughly distributing all products you've applied. Brush upside down too! 5. Style with tha Bounce Curl Brush and then diffuse just the way you did here Maybe you could record it? I know this curly hair illiterate would LOVE to see how this might change your results. We always get to see how perfectly the influencer's results are, but what about us??

    You're hair is soooooo much like mine! Mine is just a little thicker and a tiny bit more wavy/curly. I am also new on this hair journey and just bought that brush. It's a process and can be very frustrating at times. I think I'm going to start keeping a hair journal and write down what I did to my hair that morning (if I washed, what products I used, etc.) and the results that day. I think right now I may be using too many different products and not giving any a chance to really work. Also, I'm never going to get comfortable only washing my hair a couple of times a week. I work with children under the age of 5 and am covered in germs each day. I definitely need more of a wash and wear routine. I like Curly Susie - she does a wash and wear routine for people who have to wash their hair more often. Good luck and thanks for making this video - it is refreshing to see a beginner try put these products.

    I suggest that you watch more videos because you did not apply the products correctly and your hair was not wet enough. You should section your hair into small sections to apply the product and apply it from roots to ends. Also, it did not look like you angled the brush correctly to get the clumping that you should have been able to achieve with using that brush. I’m glad you saw positive results, but a more practice will give improved results. We all have gone on a journey to learn our hair and how to live in harmony with it. Fare thee well in your hair adventure.

    For the vest, the tension is too tight/use a larger needle size, butttt I think it worth unraveling and redo-ing cause it’s soooo cute! You got this!!! Just have looser tension and use larger needle maybe (1 size up)
