DIY, front brake pads replacing on speed 400
Hi, this video shows a quick way of replacing front brake pads on speed 400.
Tools required:
1. T30 bit.
2. Cloth rags, soapy water & tooth brush for cleaning.
3. High temperature grease to apply on the lock pin.
4. Any flat tool for pushing the pistons inside.
Things that can go wrong:
1. After removing the pads, if the brake lever is pumped too many times, then the pistons may fall out spilling oil.
2. Always keep any one of the brake pad in its place and then only try to push the pistons on the opposite side, this is to avoid applying excessive force on the disc rotor which may lead to bending.
3. Wrap a cloth around the tools which is used to push the pistons.

Where u ordered that front mudguard extender ?
thats stock, came with the bike
Hey bro, is it normal to see that large peices of metal in oil?
its normal for a new bike, i think SC skipped to clean the strainer during 1st service.
Very good tips brother. Tell me where I can get the front mud guard extension? For the US version, it is not available. Regards
it is provided as stock in india. ruclips.net/video/-BSbXoeX7CE/видео.htmlfeature=shared
@@2wheeledcompanion Thanks for responding. But the video you gave me is the extension for Scrambler 400x, it is not compatible with the Speed 400, the part in the video is available in the USA, but it is narrower, the Speed 400 has a wider mudguard, which is why the extension for Scrambler 400x is not supported. I need the Speed 400 India version extension, which comes standard with the extension. Do you have a place that sells it in India and sends it to South America? Triumph doesn't have it in these parts.

What was the cost of Castrol Engine oil?
550rs per bottle
Really one of the best and clean bike videos ive seen from indians
how much did the brake pads cost and i have heard that triumph doesn't sell loose parts
costed 2700rs for front pads. i bought from service center.
Which bike would you recommend for family (pillion comfort) as per your experience Honda hiness 350 or Triumph Speed 400 ? Or any other brand would you suggest @@2wheeledcompanion
@@abbassayyad31 hness or cb350 obviously, its a bigger bike and hs more seat space.

My friend, the oil indicator, at what point should it be, after the oil and filter change?
after filling in the oil, run the engine for couple of minutes then stop and let the oil settle. then check oil level an it should be in middle
Brother, you ordered UK 9. Just wanted to know what your foot length is and how the shoes are fitting.
my foot is 27cm. size 9 is good fit for me. comfort is good when compared to riding boots level.
This was really helpful!
Hey man! I notice you've also installed the lower engine bars, do you think they'll be blocking the oil filter area when we change the oil at home? And also, are these sintered or organic pads? How much did they cost? Thanks!
yes, lower engine bar did make it little bit difficult to access the oil filter and coolant reservoir cap but it is managable. About the brake pads, i bought them from SC for around 2700rs, these are brembo sintered ones. For me these lasted for almost 10k km.
@@2wheeledcompanion Cool. Do you suppose we'll have to remove the left lower bar? And is SC a store?
@@gurucharanchundi no need to remove lower bar, just need fiddle a bit. SC: service center
@@2wheeledcompanion Acha, got it. Thanks man. You've ridden close to 10k right, how's the tyre life? I also have the MRF steel brace, done 4k so far.
@@gurucharanchundi they will last for another 1k may be, planning to try ceat sportrad next time.
Hi, both the drain plug and the strainer plug are 18mm? Apart from 18mm, 8mm sockets and 4mm hex key, any other sizes required for the oil change? Thanks!
drain plug requires a 8mm allen key or a 🔧, spanner size iam not sure. u can use allen key
@@2wheeledcompanion Okay, thanks
It's a 13mm socket for the second drain plug, I checked it
@@gurucharanchundi great

ruclips.net/video/0N-D6Y1dRBo/видео.htmlsi=KMbHIBl0cuLBEvUP check this out, this shows how to clean front sprocket area without damaging the cable ties
Hi, is the Agaro tool kit of good quality? I am also looking at Stanley, Taparia, Bosch GSB 26, Bosch 46 bit screwdriver sets
if u have the budget, then go for Bigger brands. i bought Agaro cauz i got it for 1300rs and its of quality.
@@2wheeledcompanion Thank you
Thank you so much! Just one doubt, what is the black zip tie looking thing that is holding the cable in place? How did you remove it and put it back? Just asking so that I don’t accidentally do something to damage it. Thank you for recording and uploading 😃
with any sharp edged tool, u can remove the zip tie lock. try on some other ziptie if u have. its easy and it doesnt damage the ziptie also. i have already done this multiple times. just place the screwdriver in between the lock and cable then pull the lock towards urself simultaneously pull the cable down.
@@2wheeledcompanion Thank you man!
17:49 i can hear chain tappet noise...kit kit
I will try to get it rectified, when i visit SC for 1 yr service
Service center guys are saying it's normal
Hi! Can you tell me how to open the front sprocket cover for cleaning, what tool will I need? I saw that there are also some cables behind the cover. If you can make a video opening and closing the front sprocket cover with tucking the cables back, it will greatly help me and anyone else searching for it online :) I asked at the service centre but they said it's not really needed to clean the front sprocket. But I wish to clean it from time to time when I'm cleaning the chain and the rear sprocket. Just a request. Thank you
will upload
