@@CrazyKid_GAMEZ . Good to be back. 👍
always happy landings from Aeroclub Bexbach ❤ EDRX
Are you a member of LGC? Curious to think it could be me in one of these gliders you’re filming!
No, I’m not a member of the LGC. I have a long zoom camera and i film from Dunstable downs which overlooks the gliding club
@@GlidersGlidersGliders That's cool. Are you a paraglider then? Would recommend an experience flight at LGC.
Looks like he might be signalling an over speed with the tail waggle. Too fast and the weak link breaks.
Not a glider pilot and I don't know where this is, but is it a forced perspective or does the landing area have a but of a downward angle with respect to the direction of travel?
I suspect it's a bit like watching a swan swimming upstream: elegant and serene on the surface, but with a lot of frantic activity happening out of sight.😁
The only thing you could call a failed landing is 'flying.'
The flag on the red truck is not even fully stretched out, strong wind?? Nice video otherwise.
It looked so real I didn't realise it was RC at first!
Uhhh... they are real.
@@longbowshooter5291 - He's joking.😁See also: leg pulling; cage rattling; chain yanking; winding up; having a giraffe...
@@EleanorPeterson In that case I get it. But ya never know with some people, and it's hard to tell when it's read.
what groundspeed at touchdown? like 15?
Long shot but is this in Lincolnshire?
It’s Dunstable downs in Bedfordshire 👍
@@GlidersGlidersGliders haha I was a long way off. I'm trying hard to get started in hang gliding but it's not easy.
Nice video, but it's wrong description - there is T31 Tandem Tutor not T21 Sedbergh ;)
@@GlidersGlidersGliders T31 has tandem seating, T21 is side by side.
@tedf1471. I’ve changed the title now, thanks for your comment 👍
gaining good skills on safe newb hill
Not too bad performance for the early days! 21/1 glide @ 200fpm.
He was fast as f boi!
It's easy peasy if you're landing into a nice steady strong wind. It's gusty crosswinds that test the mettle.
Wow! The spoilers really do a job!
That looks so majestic, those vintage gliders have so much charm.
Butter!
Wow, that looked great, lovely flare at the end too!
Very nice

The K23?
Thanks for the video, brought back many memories of time spent watching the gliders off the hills, went up,as a passenger with aerotow one evening, loved it! Used to fly RC model gliders off Ivinghoe Beacon nearby for many years. Roger in Spain 76
I was in a glider once. Across the desert on the wings of the wind. Such a wonderful thing. Though these seem more sophisticated in the takeoff, lovely to watch.
Thank you for posting, it's me taking off at 24:04
Yooo I went solo that day at around 1930! If you have any photos I would love to see them!
I'm surprised that a populated area like London would have the land and air space to host this kind of hobby aviation meet up.
That's the fun of it! It's nowhere near London!
The London Gliding Club is based at Dunstable Downs in Bedfordshire - a considerable distance from central London. The main constraint is actually that of regulated and controlled airspace. All flying from the site is subject to strict operational procedures agreed with NATS in addition to the Air Navigation Order, which is the governing law.
👍
The good old ridge soaring!
looks like more ground handling needed
I hadn't seen this type of paragliding, looks awesome!
You might buy a camera that films for more then a few seconds.
Bruv is hating on a channel with only 61 subs that brings us the only routine content of LGC that I can find - enjoy what we have.
It's how long the aerotow took the camera is fine
wow they are just hovering there on the wind. that looks so awesome

#FakeNews, this isn' t a crash, just the viewpoint from the other side of a hill on a normal approach and landing ;)
This is me! :) I was pilot in command in the seat closest to you! The T.21 is unusual in that it has only one spoiler lever on the centre console, handled by either pilot (depending on whos in control). When sat in the left seat, it requires you to fly with opposite hands to any other gliders that I know of (which is usually stick right hand, airbrake lever in the left). It was a blustery day, so nice to see this landing from an outside view and that it looked OK despite being flown left handed! Thankyou for sharing it! Our restaurant (the Fly by Cafe) and picnic area are available for the public to visit, come down sometime!
@stefanastley. I was thinking about popping down to the Go Gliding Weekend you are having Saturday and Sunday at the gliding club. Can you tell me what time it is on please?
@@GlidersGlidersGliders 09:15 is the greeting for participants, flying looks iffy this weekend due to low cloud and rain but, it has improved since this morning so still a small chance! Lots of people around on the ground though all the same. Have fun!
eine gute alte jodel robine
In paragliding a tandem means completely different thing. So the title is misleading in the paragliding world.
very well executed landing from this perspective! :D
@cosmovsky. He nailed the landing to be fair. Thanks for your comment
Flying these old sailplanes and their revival is outstanding. As a boy in the early 60's my interest began at a small airport (Harvey Young - grass strip) 5:31 east of Tulsa, OK. Watching Schwietzers being towed and flying on summertime thermals all afternoon. Also winch towing a WW II Canadian trainer to fly the pattern. I also learned to fly here as well as Jones Riverside Airport (Tower, ILS, FBO). Wonderful days...now just a memory.
We have a great collection at the London Gliding Club, all privately owned. The only flying Rhonsperber and also a Minimoa both in excellent condition. We have a T.31 a Prefect and several types of Ka6. There is also a Silene awaiting return to service. David Underwood (son of the great Peter Underwood) currently retains Peter's collection of Kirby Kites not far away too. They have been maintained and returned to flying standard I believe but have not flown recently. No stuff from the US or Canada but I guess that stuff rarely made it over here! The T.21 recently returned to flying after the long-term owner sadly passed away, we now have his name on the glider. He had it recovered in around 2012 and it is still in excellent condition. Prior to that it was the original covering from 1948 believe. Sounds like you certainly had better weather for it than we did, we get around 1000ft AGL from our winch launches which is enough for a decent circuit but not much more unless the ridge is working at LGC! The lucky ones catch a low thermal, which is of course very satisfying...
He is just practicing mate :)
That guy knows his glider
Camera operator stands in the landing path of paraglider club.
@amcconnell. Fair comment, thanks for watching
I was going to say, that was a beautiful landing. Great clip, perhaps you should change the title to "Dude sticks it like a boss."
@johncarr2333. He did stick it like a boss and I suppose I may have slightly been standing in the path of his landing. Thanks for watching
What is the site?
@TheLookingOne. Thanks for watching the video, it is at Dunstable downs in Bedfordshire
That was a well controlled landing
@calunVEVO. It was a very well controlled landing. Thanks for watching
Ground handling is how we practice launching and handling the wing.
That's pretty impressive, especially as its not fixed to the ground. Thanks for filming and sharing.
No problem. Thanks for your comment
Well I didnt know that was a thing. How much altitude do they get when they disconnect?
@derkaiser661, thanks for the info 👍
It depends on several factors: - length of cable laid out. That is between 800 and 1500 m typically. Some few locations can use up to 3000m with polyethylene Fiber ropes (steel would be too heavy). - wind speed. Stronger head wind supports the kite effect of the winch, thus resulting in higher release altitudes. - weight of the airplane. A light wooden youngtimer at 300kg gross gets more release altitude than a loaded two-seater at 700 kg. All that said usual release altitudes are between 300-450m. Except for the extreme long tow lengths up to 3000m. Here release altitudes of >=1000m can be reached. This can substitute aerotow for aerobatic programs, and greatly reduce cost and improve speed of operation.
@kaihorstmann27. Thanks for your comment, you’ve shared some great information 👍
