Ask Dr H what he thinks about fluoroquinolone toxicity. I was 6 months through a protocol that was working well. Kept showing igm pos brucella after 2 retests. I was given levaquin and now can’t walk. Tendons feel like they are going to snap. My llmd doesn’t believe that I got floxed and said it’s herx reaction. Just like regular medicine doesn’t believe Lyme exists. Some of these llmds are just as bad as the doctors they complain about. I know that med caused this.

I keep at my Son and his wife about lifestyle changes at home, three kids the oldest is now 10 started out on a cell phone at 1 then video games that has been his world, second now 7 is diag autistic third is three he is now addicted to cell phones and is beyond defiant. They have never sat with any of them as babies and toddlers and taught basic things heck they dont wven know their body parts, the autistic one rums the house he breaks a phone and they give them theirs he breaks another an another, its a terrible cycle. They eat sweets, chips, and koolaid/tea full of suigar all the time and eat out all the time McDs, chic filet, popeyes, and they never go out an play with them. I have so much panic an anxiety not understanding why their kids health and well being are not priority teaching and helping them grow. Its like throw them on phones an meds let them run the house an just ignore it all. What can I possibly do as a grandparent. One of the biggest teachable things when their little is emotions who did the make a sad face, make a happy face etc.. and find dyn way to explain and how to use those emotions, like teaching ABC 123 body parts please an thank you how to ask a question an get an answer, none of that is done, its lazy.

My son’s father keeps insisting he needs meds because he can’t handle his behavior during the whopping 42 hours a week he spends with him. I did everything he, and all these other people who barely know or spend time with him suggested.. He got ABA therapy (it triggered him so bad he bashed his head through a wall twice then bit the therapist so hard he tore a chunk of skin out of her arm)..meds hydroxyzine made his eyeballs roll into the back of his head and he could barely walk, risperidone made him gain 12 pounds in 2 months with no behavior change.. now his dad insists he needs adhd/stimulant meds. He is now dating some girl who is a social worker and works with autistic people, using that as a ‘foot up’ to try to take me to court and have my son taken from me. Saying I neglect his mental health and safety by not drugging him or putting him through therapies that harm him instead of help him!!! His dad doesn’t even take him to the doctor or anything!! He just doesn’t like how my son behaves with him and my son hates going over there! He did great when in school, teachers said he was one of the best in the class. Only reason why he had to be taken out is because like most public schools it was a dozen special needs kids in one room with only one certified teacher and one assistant so of course he ended up traumatized and is now too anxious to go back. I have no control over that. I tried enrolling him in a different school and he was too anxious still. The happiest he’s been now is being homeschooled and just speech therapy and gymnastics but all these people who literally don’t do jack squat for this boy won’t shut up with their “advice”.

Ya know why prisons and military work out well for ADHD children.. little sensory, limited choices.. maxiumum routines.. encourages structure and consistency. If there were schools/ places that taught Co-regulation and identified children who lack regulating their own systems.. at an early age.. we’d have less prison problems.. court problems., mental health problems.. etc. We could create profile protypes for each level of dysregulstion/sensory.. (i suggested star clusters like “orion type” versus “casseopia”. And help teachers to move kids at a young age through sensory and a condtions to identify their “type” in rooms that are dark/ loud, unstructured activities versus structured.. And see which kids fit into which profile’ then create strategies from the military and prisons. To create Regiments at young ages to be phased out as the children develop Better regulation skills…. by determining how dysregulated they are (like a far off Galaxy) using “space” To help regulate them…. and bringing them back in as coping strategies are developed. Its like asking a child in foster care to learn abcs when they cant even find the calm within their own body to open their mind up to Higher learning. Imagine constantly jumping at the sound of every Door.. or spacing out cuz You cant regulate your brain out of fight or flight.. but bring expected to learn math .. Adults are afraid of children being labeled because of the negative experience if seeing children with those labels and their experiences.. Weve tried separating kids etc.. what if we Taught yoda /buddist .. self regulating practices . And offered Alternative learning to children identified as Adhd/ autism/ Dysregulsted/ nervous system problems.. That opens up thd door for all kids to learn coregulation techniques so when a dysregulatef child demonstrated dysregulstive behaviors children like adults can coregulate and help the child to sooth where parents like me fell short. In case you know someone who needs an idea. I appreciate you And Hope this Message is helpful in creating idea for future children. Thank you for all that you do to help kids and adults like me find help :)

Hi Dr. Rosann. Calgary, AB mom here. I have been watching all your videos today because I have high belief that my 9yrd old daughter might be struggling due to anxiety or ADHD. I first wanted to know if ADHD was considered to be in the nurodivergency family? Summer time I notice her to be alot more calm though last year during school as well as the beginning of this school year she has so many meltdowns and tantrums. She also takes as long as she possibly can to get ready for school, almost as if she is avoiding these tasks so that maybe I'll just keep her home. I did ask her the other day which she replied that she didn't want to go to school. I know she struggles with focusing in school especially in math. So I'm thinking that she may have anxiety about it or maybe a learning disability, or maybe ADHD? How do I figure out what exactly she is dealing with without doctors here pushing medication? My husband I think is fearful because he doesn't want a "label" put on her, however, I think it would be selfish and very egoic to not get her the help and support she needs just because of that fear.

What happens when occupational therapy, diet change, and supplements haven't worked well enough? Our pediatrician wants to start a very low does Ritalin... I don't know what to do. Our son is about to get kicked out of Kindergarten.

Great question. Many people come to me in the same situation. It is about the right treatment, at the right time in the right order. Getting to the root causes is a critical part of the process that gets you to the right path.

Can a teen with combined type ADHD and PDA in autism also have NVLD? He's extremely smart, and does meet quite a bit of the criteria for PDA, but also for NVLD too. Is it possible for "milder PDA" to really be NVLD?

Nervous system dysregulation can show a variety of symptoms. A diagnosis should be thought of more as a guide to understand but it is really more common for an individual to have symptoms that cross into more than on diagnosis.

@@DrRoseann very good point. There are some symptoms of PDA though he's never really had, like using social strategies to get out of doing things (entering into role play or fantasy, saying he can't move, etc), etc. He does have demand avoidance, but on the other hand, he also has little spatial awareness and a bit of a klutz, once he hit higher maths (algebra, geometry), he's struggled, his cursive handwriting is horrid. He asks millions of questions, has to "label" and categorize info. But then again, he also has ADHD-C and level 1 autism...it's difficult to know where the symptoms of one end, and the other(s) pick up. I'm focusing on the NVLD so much primarily because he's struggling in yet another HS math class, after finishing grades 5-8 (4 years) math in just about 2-2.5 years, and he struggles with some other things at school, despite being identified as gifted. Is having him re-evaluated worth the effort in your opinion? I feel like the PDA profile was just thrown on there a bit haphazardly, with no real evaluation, just regular appts., so I'm leaning towards it.

@@DrRoseann I understand that there is quite a bit of overlap in symptoms with the two, and that a diagnosis is a guide in understanding. The reason I was asking has to do with school. Should he have NVLD rather than PDA, or both, that might open up some other supports for him with his IEP. I've also read so many different posts in a PDA parents support group about the struggles they have with their kiddos, and we haven't ever been anywhere NEAR that magnitude, another thing that makes me question the accuracy of the diagnosis. Are there mild cases of PDA, and can people have improvements in how they respond when they get older?

unless is sth serious you can't play with sth like this you can destroy a kid's life forever and considering that you proved time and time again you don't know how to distinguish the left from the right lobotomies, the increased suicide in kids "treated" with ssri, the withdrawal and pssd

Why is it that some providers on the pandas list don't believe in Lyme so I'm still confused. And the other Dr keep telling me it's a hoax so now what now that I don't trust even the pandas Drs. One says pay for Cunningham then the other Dr says it has too many positives. So why did I just pay for the Cunningham. 12k later and I still don't know if it's pans.

It is so muddled and unnecessarily complex. The controversy is discussed in a great movie called, "My Kid Isn't Crazy."

I’m 13 and at this point, I’m so done with drinking coffee, or taking hydroxyzine just so that I can complete half of one task or assignment. I talked to my therapist abt starting meds and I went through a very long process of evaluations both in school and in my therapy sessions. I made this choice to start meds and I’m starting non-stimulant meds soon. And my diet is balanced and I don’t eat sugary foods and junk food often. I don’t even drink soda, I hate the taste of soda. But I do agree with you and psychiatrists really do need to understand and really do deep evaluations for medication. I’ve lots of research on adhd meds and I have hopes of majoring in neuroscience or psychiatry when I go to college.

Please check with your prescribing physician. Most allow for magnesium but they definitely need to okay it.
