Cicada 4WD is a wheelin group that started on the Gold Coast and now has over 200 members. Now based on the Sunshine Coast so be prepared for lots of Glasshouse Mountain adventures.
How it all started:
In 2021 I had watched all the best 4wd videos on RUclips and was craving more, so I thought I'd create my own 4wd group and RUclips channel and put my own spin on it. My original inspiration for the channel was Aussie Four Wheelers, LROR, Daniel Kistler and Defender90 Orkney. My aim is to keep the camera rollin and create a great quality channel 🤙

Nice one. I used an engine crane with a bit of up down when I did the ones on a 105. Pretty simple for the amount a shop would charge hey!

Hey mate, just regarding the 105. With the rear locker, do you loose the lsd in the rear diff when you put a rear locker on? And is it an e-locker?
Hey mate. I have auto lokka in rear. So locked all the time. Got an elocker for front coming.

I realise this is a year old. Just wondering if you still have it or did it drink too much? 😭 I just bought the same cruiser... 98 model 1FZ-FE auto 105. How's the engine holding up? Mines got 380,000 on it.
Hey mate. Still got the mighty 105 and had for nearly 4 years. I did try to sell it but not going to give it a way. It has 440,000 Km's on it now. I did have to replace head gasket 6 months back but engine is healthy. Power steering along with rear main seal has been leaking the entire time and have had to do other things but it's pretty reliable. Service it every 8 to 10000 and I don't abuse it. Using around 20/100 but have a work car so not a major problem. I wouldn't use it for long distance touring but hard tracks and camping trips it's great. Would love to fte swap it but petrol has been great for a budget 4wd. Cheers

Control crawling is where it's at but hard if your not twin locked and have reduction gears but still 👍
@@Cicada4WD Agree. Its all helps. But the attitude for many 4wders seems to be just 'point and shoot'. Tearing up tracks. Breaking shit. Just annoys me. To many around with, hate to say it, all the gear and no idea.
@@Cicada4WD also, autos are where its at for stuff like this. Autos are so much better these days than they were 20 or 30 years ago. If i was buying a new 4wd. Would only be auto. For those about to pile on the hate. Ive been offroading for over 30 years.

How easily could i get to the campsite in a RAV4? Are the two water crossings the biggest hurdle for a non 4x4? Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!
Yeah wouldn't be a problem atm. Water crossing areant deep but obviously changes all the time. I didn't use 4wd and no need to air down unless you want a more comfortable ride. Hope that helps
I love doing these sorts of reconnaissance trips in my 105, granted mine’s not nearly as built up as yours so I generally need to stop off at a farm stall or restaurant with the kids on the trip Great content as always!

is it lc 105? i have diesel powered 4.2 lc 105 and it has 2 door on backside . isn't that model an 100?
The 105 came out in the 1hz and the 1fzfe both solid axel. My model is FZJ105R. 100 series came out with 2UZ-FE and the 1HD-FTE both IFS in front. I believe both models came out under the same 100 series banner 🤷♂️
