#ktsminutetips Breath Support!
#ktsminutetips Breath Support 🗣️ 🫁
➡️ WHAT: a GREAT reminder to maintain your breath support AT ALL TIMES 👉 for ALL instruments!
➡️ HOW: This couldn’t be easier; lay on the floor and sing or play bass or your wind instrument. If you’re a drummer or pianist, try singing on the floor as well.
➡️ WHY: When you lay in the floor, you’re adding an extra challenge for your breath and core canister by having gravity work against you. It’s like walking with ankle weights on or batting with a donut on. With the extra weight, you can pinpoint EXACTLY where you need to improve.
➡️ ASK: Am I breathing from my belly? Or am I raising my shoulders and adding extra tension? Is my diaphragm expanding outward...

KT’S Minute Tips - Double Bass Warm Ups!
Your voice is so…smooth. Beautiful ❤️
Katie - no bs : only music groove joy
Oscar is also one of my influences. He's a solid player and very melodic in his solos.
Yano the thing abt u is we do the same things with our mouths wile playing I can tell it's hard for u to hold back sometimes I'm the exact same what u think makes us do tht lol and what does it help with I no I can't stop myself 😅😅
Maravilhoso um som natural e lindo
Good Mornin'. Give it Hell !!
Great!
😢😢
love it!
Ray Brown was such an amazing musician. He was the only bass player I can genuinely listen to a solo and enjoy it. Before I first heard him, I always thought that a bass was never an instrument that should take a solo
Legendary bassist
I could listen to you Patrick Ohearn and Tony Franklin all day 😊
Siento que me derrito… 🤤

Te Amo ❤
🙏🙏🙏
@@KatieThirouxMusic I will always love you, I am your “grupie” Nº1
Beautiful
Nice singing an playing. Just didn’t go together for me
got my head nodding like mad with this tempo 😂 brilliant video
It’s a good tempo!
Sheeesh 🔥🔥🔥🔥
👊👊👊👊👊👊
You'd be a great horn player oh my God! 🤌🏻
Thanks! Everyone is safer if I stick to bass 😂
Hi Katie, always really enjoy your content and positive energy, keep sharing your gift and wishing you all the very best in everything you do ❤
Steve Davis sounded so great on those Trane Atlantic sessions. It's always baffled me why he fell into obscurity
daam, you got a way to pick tunes that resonate with me a lot, this one a bit too much :( Your playing is inspiring, I'd love to take a class with you one day
Нина Симон...
Это джаз ззз... пап пап пап дит да дит 👏👏👏🎻
Love it! You make that bass ring beautifully!
🙏🙏🙏
😊
🙏👊🙏
Your husband / boyfriend is so lucky : he must be so happy when you sing him this song!
I think he likes listening to the record better!
Go Katie!🙌
🙏👊🙏
You make me fall in love with the double bass again and again. Great music, incomparable energy! Thanks for this and every great/short video!
Yay, that’s awesome!
Did you get to study with Rsy?
Wow your rlly beautiful and amazing! Love you so much ❤
👊👊👊
Legendary bassist
🙏🙏🙏
Katie’s the bomb. Wow
Ha, thx 🙏
❤❤❤
Very good for me. Thanks .
Thank you 🙏
Been playing bass for 17 years, wish i had a standup. Love your groove and voice :)
Thank you 🙏
Awww so pretty love yaaa
Great advice! I tried this with my double bass… kinda awkward 😂😂😂 all joking aside, I’m happy that my classical double bass teacher put a lot of stress on breathing… He is often criticized for the sniffing noise that can be heard in his records, but breathing correctly is so good for your music! Thank you for another awesome video!
Yes, proper breathing and breath support is KEY to playing bass!
❤ Te Amo Katie ❤
🙏🙏🙏
@@KatieThirouxMusic siempre te amaré Katie ❤️
Hahahah! That was fun… and funny! And what a coincidence: I’ve been playing Tricotism quite a bit when practicing these last few days . Thanks for the usual dose of inspiration!
Just YEAH! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Omggg I love this and I love you ❤
I so like your approach of leaving a lot of time for playing what feels good to play (after doing one’s homework, of course). In Italian we use the verb “studiare” (to study) when referred to practicing on a musical instrument. It’s interesting to know that the Latin verb “studere “, apart from “to study” meant “to love (doing) something “. Thanks for what you do!
Yeah! Grazie!
You have no idea of how happy I was when I read “I never write out solos”! It’s something that I hate to do! Learning them, singing them is actually cool, but writing them down… is not! Thanks a lot: you do an amazingly great job and are always inspiring!
Yeah, yeah, and yet again: yeah! Thanks Katie. You are by far the person who most inspires me to play double bass, to feel the joy of playing such a beautiful instrument, to love it at its core. Of all the bass players (some of whom are really exceptional) on RUclips-and in the “real” world- you are the one who makes me fall in love with the double bass the most; again and again. Your playing and singing is so pure and truthful. Thank you. Grazie. Any chance of you coming to Italy and/or Europe? I’d like to see you live and, who knows, maybe organize a Master class? Thanks again!
Oh, yeah, you’re rite!!! Thanks for this!
I love Contrabass Sounds with the Bow. ❤ , Katie, you play so wonderfull 🥰
Oh yeah totally do this too, I love putting on records and catch what I can
Beautiful ! Merry christmas
