Tony Tosti - Mentre il Mondo Dorme (While the World Sleeps)
Please Like and Subscribe... Thank you.
This lament was written to express a mood that many people around the planet have expressed since the world changed. Lyrics were written in Italian and translated in English.
----------------------------------------
La vita cambia mentre il mondo dorme
Sognando di vivere senza paura ed incertezze
La storia cambia e non ha fine
Lacrime di tristezza, famiglie divise
Insieme possiamo risvegliarci
Nella speranza di vedere la verità
Solo allora saremo di nuovo liberi
----------------------------------------
Life changes while the world sleeps
Dreaming of living without fear and uncertainty
The story changes and has no ending
Tears of sadness, broken families
Togeth...

08. Pacem (Laying it to Rest) from 'BREATHE - The Album' (Music by Tony Tosti)
Просмотров 18814 дней назад
The Latin word for Peace is 'PACEM'. I originally referred to this piece as "Laying it to Rest" because although the music begins with a feeling of discovery, the ending definitely felt triumphant as if having arrived at a glorious destination. The choir voices release a beautiful energy and continue to build to a place where the mind, body and soul have made peace with whatever turmoil previou...
07. Prāṇa (Energy) from 'BREATHE - The Album' (Music by Tony Tosti)
Просмотров 7914 дней назад
There are many English translations for the Sanskrit word 'Prāṇa'. Most commonly, Prāṇa refers to the energy by which one can breathe, the life force energy or the movement of breath. It is also referred to as 'Chi' in Chinese philosophy and 'Reiki' in Japanese healing. There are many physiological, mental and emotional elements required to sustain a healthy mind and body. Our thoughts must be ...
06. Maluhia from 'BREATHE - The Album' (Music by Tony Tosti)

The Hawaiian word 'MALUHIA' has many interpretations in the English language. It refers to 'Calm' or 'Peace' as well as a person who has the potential to attain spiritual enlightenment! According to various website sources, the word also suggests that a person who possesses the qualities of MALUHIA has the ability to be introspective and intuitive along with the ability to unite the feminine an...
05. Pneuma from 'BREATHE - The Album' (Music by Tony Tosti)
Просмотров 7714 дней назад
'PNEUMA' originates from the Greek language meaning breath, air in motion, breath of life, and spirit. In an effort to continue the conceptual nature of this album, this track reintroduces the opening melodic motif from the opening track 'Breathe'. This helps to establish familiarity with the music in the same way a soundtrack creates an overall thematic presence in a film. The piano plays an i...
04. The Journey from 'BREATHE - The Album' (Music by Tony Tosti)
Просмотров 5814 дней назад
'The Journey' was an obvious title for this track. It starts quietly with a repetitive piano rhythm that builds with the addition of an orchestral ensemble. The piece has two distinct sections both drawing many references from each other. This piece is meant to represent a monumental and transformational journey in our lives. Chances are that we don't know exactly when or how it begins, but the...
02. Rediscovery from 'BREATHE - The Album' (Music by Tony Tosti)
Просмотров 13214 дней назад
When resting in a comfortable and relaxed position, 'Rediscovery' can help you visualize and revisit a memory at a time and place where you experienced a true sense of calm. Focus on breathing slowly while you hold on to that feeling of peace. 'Rediscovery' features an ancient Armenian wind instrument called a Duduk which is believed to have existed as early 1200 BC. It evokes a very distinct s...
03. Jagaana (Awakening) from 'BREATHE - The Album' (Music by Tony Tosti)
Просмотров 9914 дней назад
The Hindi word 'Jagaana' translates in English to the word 'Awaken' and is very appropriate as the name for Track 3 from 'Breathe - The Album'. This piece is made up of 3 distinct sections all of which revolve around variations of a 4-note motif played in a descending pattern. This pattern is replicated by several other instruments as the piece progresses. The first 4-note motif can be heard st...
01. Breathe - Title Track from 'BREATHE - The Album' (Music by Tony Tosti)
Просмотров 15614 дней назад
'Breathe' is the title track from the album and it features piano and a string quartet. Each instrument trying to express its own emotional conflict through the interweaving musical motifs like waves of turmoil and unrest coming from the ocean while simultaneously being supported by the other instruments also trying to express the same emotions, but with their own unique voice. Without over-int...

SECRETA - Opening Theme & Credits (Music by Tony Tosti)

Voices can be very inspiring especially when creating rhythmic motifs from vocal fragments. This piece is composed with a rhythm of 7 beats (1-2-1-2-1-2-3) and may include a slight Spanish influence. This is yet another Opening/Closing Theme currently looking for a show to call home. Released March 23, 2023 © Tony Tosti, 2023. Sometimes inspiration comes from something as simple as hearing a new sound. This piece was inspired by the sound of the "Na-na" choral opening that prompted me to incorporate an opera soloist in the second half. R-H-Y T-H-M - Spelling Rhythm can be easy (Music and Lyrics by Tony Tosti)
Santu Toney was my great-great grandmother ❤
Wow 😮❤
Beautiful music performance
❤Excellent video
Very emotional track! I like it a lot, well done
There was no need to add her singing along with the orchestra, but I'm glad you did. Hollowing. Is it on Spotify?
It's not a feeling, I know met with the actual KOP FAMILY DESCENDENTS AND THEY STATED " THE MIKMAQ TRIED TO FORCE THEM TO SAY THEY ARE BEOTHUK MIKMAQ." I FILMED THEM STATE " THEY HATE WHAT THE MIKMAQ DID AND THE FRANK SPECK STORY IS CULTURAL MISAPPROPRIATION DISINFORMATION MISAPPROPRIATION; KOP YELLED" I AM CHIPPEWA ". THE KOP FAMILY OF SANTU ARE CHIPPEWA AND DID NOT LIVE WITH BEOTHUK FIRST NATION RED INDIAN LAKE NEWFOUNDLAND LABRADOR; THE ANISHANAWBEE CHIPPEWA HAVE A RED INDIAN LAKE IN USA AND RECENTLY REMOVE THE WORD INDIAN ; THE KOP FAMILY STILL RESIDE IN NEW ENGLAND TO THIS DAY IN THE STATE THAT THIS WAX RECORDING 1910 WAS RECORDED; NOT ONE OF THE WORDS OF THIS SONG IS BEOTHUK LANGUAGE. FRANK SPECK STATED HE HAD DIFFICULTY UNDERSTANDING SANTU KOP- TONEY; THE KOP FAMILY DO NOT WANT TO BE CALLED BEOTHUK AND THEY DO HAVE THE RIGHT TO SUE THE MIKMAQ FOR USING THEM AND DESTROYING THEM AS CHIPPEWA ANISHANAWBEE PEOPLE . I KNOW THE KOP FAMILY AND WE ARE VERY VERY GOOD FRIENDS.
The paternal side named KOP came forth and proved she is not Beothuk. She is half mikmaq and half Chippewa and her father Kop was european with Chippewa and did not live with Beothuk of Newfoundland Labrador Red Indian Lake. I spoke with the Kop descendents and they stated the mikmaq tried to force then to say they are Beothuk mikmaq when they are Chippewa.
This is truly beautiful Tony. The phrasing and instrumentation is very effective. Bravo, from one composer to another!
Good beginning (musical idea, orchestration...). Adding a 2nd part of the main theme or a theme B would be necessary in my opinion (modulating) for avoiding turn around🙂
Gorgeous melody... even before the amazing operatic voice enters. Very unique vocal rhythm at the outset. Another wonderful arrangement and orchestration. 'Fantastico'.
As always, thank you for the kind words and for taking the time to listen. TT
Très beau, Tony ! Minimaliste dans l'instrumentation et plein de sensibilité.
Beautiful music ✨ I really enjoyed it! So calm and peaceful!
Thank you so much for listening! TT
@@ttosti_composer My pleasure!
nice! a lot of emotion in this proposition... beautiful!
Very Nice...
Thank you TJ for taking the time to listen.
@@ttosti_composer You are welcome. :)
Très belle composition, qui nous invite à un beau voyage Merci pour ce partage
Yes, it looks like the Mont St Michel in France !! I loved the atmosphere, a bit like Tim Burton in this one. For me it fits perfectly with the photo (brightness, colors...). Bravo !! 👍 Subscribed, and I keep exploring your channel !
@skandmusic Thank you so much for taking the time to listen and to leave a comment. It's very much appreciated.
Bravo on se laisse porter.
Merci beaucoup!
Génial !!!!
Bravo, c'est vraiment très agréable !!!!!
Wowww, it's absolutely fantastic, emotionally fantastic, I really enjoyed the strings section, great job my dear friend 👍👏
Thank you so much for taking the time to listen and for the comment.

Bravo for this composition, from the first notes I was attracted by your music Thank you for this magical moment
Thank you very much JeanPaul.
Tres cool ca. Bravo
There hasn't been a single opus you have composed that I have not liked. Great accomplishments. Congratulations!
🔥🔥🔥 the instrumentation really resonates with my existential melancholy lmao
A beautiful ending to this wonderful concept album. I love concept albums - when properly presented, they show the genius in the creator of the work. I love how you use words from ancient languages for the titles of the pieces. Life has been here for a long time, as far as we can perceive time and music is a universal unifier and I know I am not expressing myself in the best of ways; what I mean to say is that the words of ancient languages for "breathe" and "life" serve this work in a very mindful way. I also noticed that this last opus' length is 4:44 and I don't think that is a coincidence, but I won't get too esoteric here. Those who know the meaning of such numbers will understand. You are a very talented composer. Your work comes from a very rich soul. I wish you the best with this. May it enjoy the recognition it deserves. It's been a pleasure and an honor to be one of the first to experience it. I know I will listen to this over and over again.
It feels like being in love, with a person, an idea, with life!
Beauty and balance. Lovely!
Life is a journey filled with surprises, some welcome and some not. Resisting changes only causes more pain. Acceptance, difficult as it may be, is necessary and the only way to survive. Along the way, there is so much beauty, so beautifully presented in this piece. I love the joyful ending.
The emotion totally describes the title - awakening... an awakening of the mind and a heart that is healing. Again, may be not what you intended, but how it speaks to me. Beautiful and joyful. The video of nature blossoming is lovely and befitting.
It feels, to me, like coming out of a slumber, whether it be sleep, pain, or a meditative state, and finding that life is still there.
Beautiful! Plaintive. Melancholic... as usual, filled with emotions from the depth of the soul.
Falsified information. The real KOP family report this as FRAUD, it's not the Beothuk language . The KOP family stated the Santu father Kop was Chippewa not Beothuk. The Mikmaq lied stated the Authetic KOP descendents
I suggest you address your concerns with the director, film maker and PhD Chris Aylward from Newfoundland who spent 10 years of his life researching and validating both sides of the arguments. My role was to compose the music for the documentary using Santu's Song as the foundation to create themes and variations.
@@ttosti_composer i am the Elder Grand Chief of the FNBFN First Nation: Beothuk First Nation and aylward is a idiot stealing from the FNBFN with the Mikmaq.
@@chiefcarolsongofjoyreynold2844 I'm sorry you feel that way. As composer of the project, my role was not to draw an opinion or conclusion from the documentary.
Really like the sound of those longing, melancholy strings Tony. This sounds like it should be part of a Ken Burns film on the Native American Experience. What kind of project are you working on here? When you get some time, drop me an email and we'll try to start catching up a bit with one another. Be Well.... Be Creative! J.R.
Beautiful!
So much fun to listen to this and think of times in the sun.
Absolutely beautiful😍
Too bad you missed the deadline because this is an exquisite piece... very suspenseful and beautifully executed. I'm not sure what the photo is but it looks like Mont Saint Michelle in France. Regardless, great work!
Thank you Rosa. You are absolutely correct about the location! Very observant of you. As always, I thank you for taking the time to listen.
Love these Latin grooves!
Thank you Marcus. I appreciate you taking the time to listen. TT
Very beautiful and sensitive composition and performance. Lovely melodic orchestration. Emotional ranking = 10/10
Thank you so much Kluane.
wow, the richness of the mélodie and arrangement is very émotional. great piano playing.
Thank you so much Richard both for listening and for the kind words.
So beautiful!
Sounds very organic in its development. At times, the hexatonic scale & the rhythms used makes it sound like a tango that somehow found itself visiting the Far East! Well Done. 😃🎶 Also saw on FB that your Dad just celebrated his 80th Birthday! The photos look beautiful and your parents' home looks as warm & inviting as I remember it. ✌🏻
Thank you my friend. Nice to hear from you. I appreciate your kind words. TT
Remarkably sensitive composition and arrangement. Tears can come from a whole range of emotions, happiness, sadness, fear, relief and pain. That's what I hear in this beautiful tender piece... the mixed emotions of tears.
