I lost an eye to a knife. Took years to stop twitching and hearing the 'meat cutting sound' every time someone held a pen or something pointy and moved alittle too fast. That's nothing compared to a gunshot wound or taking a human life. Stuff really does stick with you and I wish people really knew what it costs the people we ask so casually to carry that burden. Questions, 1.) What tells you to transition? 2.) What tells you to transition back to the long gun? 3.) Do you eventually want to get back to the holster without looking at the holster? 4.) Do you check the long gun to diagnose the condition? 5.) Should I just complete a magazine change and assuming it to be am EO? 6.) What is the benefit of the reload of the long gun and single shot afterwards? 7.) Are you running through a scenario in your head while doing this drill? 8.) Why does the safety go on when you scan? 9.) Is it safe to say this is more of a manipulation drill than what one would do in an actual RL situation? Thanks I enjoy JT's stuff.

Sorry guy with the cold head, as a former Fed LEO, we train to holster without looking. You may perceive the threat eliminated but, you continued to say alert for another threat.

One thing you can't get rid of is the smell of death. I encountered a rotted corpse. The smell was horrible
