During this era, the name of the band should have been Mick Taylor and The Rolling Stones. Superb guitar playing.

I expect in the Stones...Mick wasn't "allowed "....to do any of this..OR play/ record with anybody else..!!..The " support band " on the last Stones tour..couldn't stay at the same hotel...and were told never to speak or even have any eye-contact with the Stones...!!!!!

I bought the album this was on. I was 14 and living in Hamburg, New York. I'm now 74 in 2024 and language and culture a long away from there. I lot has happened in those years... except the Stones and the Blues. RT sends, envía, Colonia Centro Histórico, Puebla, México..

Love all of the Rolling Stones music from the 1960s era ! My favourite years and the Blues were a staple of the Stones favourites. Mainly USA blues. Love it all!! ❤🎸💫🌟🌟🌟🌟

This arrangement should have had Garland Guitar as the main focus with the flute and xylophone waaay in the background.

Those who know Mick Taylor only through the Stones might not know he plays like this. If only he kept more with this style. He was progressive.

Is he playing a Strat on this one? Doesn't sound like a Les Paul. Maybe it's an SG, with thinner sharper sound? What do you think?

I can't help but think that if Hank was driving a modern car with full seat belts at least and a dash board that wasn't like a bunch of knives he would have come out much better in that awful car crash that left him unable to play in the very early 60's he would have been the premier lead and jazz guitarist at least of the 1960's. Thank God for our modern cars!

I've read that Hank Garland wasn't satisfied with his "Velvet Guitar" album, but with each passing year, (IMHO) I believe more strongly that it is one of the classic works of American popular music.

I am always amazed by Garland's playing. Country, jazz and pop which was almost easy listening. I'm sure since he was a Nashville cat that Chet Atkins would have wanted to produce some Easy Listening guitar based albums to compete with Tony Mottola. Too bad Garland's career was cut short with the car accident.
