Your account probably cost Tim Sweeney hundreds of dollars from free redemption to reclaim that $2 from the one purchase you've made, which doesn't look good for the long term prospects of the storefront. But you're right, it's a good deal, but most people don't mind paying for games they want to play and feel they have value. But 80 some games out of 300 isn't really a good ration of waiting for a good game to be released. And even then, most of the good games you've pointed out people already own elsewhere or are really old and would be dirt cheap elsewhere anyways. So let's say 30 out 300 games, that's 10% ratio. Checking a storefront every day for even 10 days to find 1 game you might play is really not worth it for a lot of people. It's digital clutter, and mental clutter at that point. So it's just not really going to be worth the time investment for most people to get maybe a good free game that's probably only like $10 elsewhere. Most people value their time over that.
