I Re-Clock My Radiator Fan. Here is why…

I buy terrible project cars that everyone else gives up on. Then I spend an unreasonable amount of time and money rescuing them and building the way that I think they should have been when they were new.
It todays video, I spent hours reclocking and restoring an air conditioning / radiator fan on my 1991 Eagle Talon awd turbo. Doing this allows my 2.5 inch intercooler pipe more space below the fan.
You’re probably thinking that I could have pulled that fan out entirely and thrown it in the trash because it’s a dsm and my engine doesn’t even have working A/C. And you’re right about that. But someday it might have air conditioning. And when that...

I Cut The Back of My Frame Off (BUT FIXED IT!) | @projectcarrescue
Просмотров 28 тыс.Год назад
🔔 SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/@projectcarrescue The 1964 Impala, Belair, Biscayne and other 61-64 X-frame cars often have rear frame rails that are rusted, rotted or damaged in some way. Mine was no exception. So, I cut the entire back-half of my frame off, one piece at a time, fabricated new frame rails from 1/8 steel, and rebuilt/restored my frame. There were plenty of mistakes along the way, ...
I Cut The Front of My 64 Impala Frame Off. (BUT FIXED IT!) @projectcarrescue

🔔 SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/@projectcarrescue The 1964 Impala, Belair, Biscayne and other 61-64 X-frame cars often have right front frame rails that are rusted, rotted or damaged in some way. My frame was no exception and in desperate need of restoration. These frame rails in front of the crossmember are also called frame horns, though I am not sure why. Anywho - I cut off the old frame horn a...
This 64 Impala Body Might Break in Half! (Spoiler - It's Made of Body Filler!) | @projectcarrescue
Просмотров 6 тыс.Год назад
🔔 SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/@projectcarrescue After grinding away all the paint on the 1964 impala project, I welded a whole bunch of angle iron to the driver and passenger rocker panels and doglegs to prevent them from breaking in half when I take the body off of the frame. They were rotted almost entirely in half, and mostly made of body filler. This impala restoration was about to get serio...

Rare Barn Find Auto Parts FOUND! (I Got SO Lucky!) | @projectcarrescue
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.Год назад
🔔 SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/@projectcarrescue I just found a pile of 1964 impala parts in an old dairy barn. I originally discovered an ad for 64 Impala parts on Craigslist with no pictures and very few details. From there, I got in touch with the owner (great guy!), and had the chance to poke around the old car parts that have been tucked away in his dairy barn for decades. The Impala barn fin...
Doors Installed | Broken Tools | Lessons Learned | @projectcarrescue

🔔 SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/@projectcarrescue In this video, I show you how I swapped front and rear doors on my 1964 Chevy Impala wagon project car. The "new" doors are from a BelAir or Biscayne. The old doors are from a Chevy Impala. Swapping all the parts from one door to the other was far more time consuming than expected, especially removing the door glass. I had to remove the door handle...
I Bought The RUSTIEST Impala On the Internet ($500 Well Spent!) | @projectcarrescue
Просмотров 1,4 тыс.Год назад
🔔 SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/@projectcarrescue This was the WORST 1964 Impala project on Craigslist, SO I BOUGHT IT! It's bad. Like really bad. That being said, I love Impalas, especially the 1964's. I also love wagons. So even though this car needs years of love, money, floors, interior, an entire drivetrain, and restoration, I intend to tackle it. In this video, I show you the new 64 Impala w...
put a chain throw the spring and the A arm
Where did you buy the part for the rear frame? I have a 64 x frame and I need to replace that piece also but can’t find where to buy it. Thank you for any help you can give.
cool your in Canada? Picked up a 1965 Meteor 3 t0 4 months ago In Alberta.
I’m actually in the north east US, where all the cars are rusty!
@@WiringRescue oh ok. our cars are rusty here too... and i don't have even a cold garage to work in i have to work outside in the snow on my truck.
I think I know what head that is lol
Anything new on the wagon??
Solid question! I had to take a little break because of space issues in my garage, but yes! There is a bit more done. I’ll have videos again soonish! Thanks for checking on me!

Very nice Repair
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it. It actually went far smoother than I expected it to!
Awesome work!!!
Thank you! Also - nice dsm! I’ll likely have a DSM project in here soon. Stay tuned!
When is the next episode coming ?
Great question! I think it will be a few weeks, because I want to sandblast and prime the frame next, and I needed some decent weather for that, which is just now arriving in Massachusetts! Don’t worry, though, I’ve got TONS more work to do on this, and lots of video to make. :) Thanks for staying in touch, and making sure I’m still alive!
😊 'promosm'
Those may be 63 Bel-Air doors.
That’s very possible, and something I didn’t even consider! Good call.
I use a little piece of paper towel, fit it around the head of the boat or not and she'll be in the socket works awesome
Piece of tape in the socket to hold the nut, long extension.
Great work, really enjoyed your chassis repairs, when you were doing all the measurements, I thought that doesn't seem right, that the measurements were different from one side to the other. Also you mentioned the possible accident damage to the rear chassis. You managed to get it all square with the use of the Lazer level. Years ago the car manufacturers used to include a diagram and measurements of the chassis in the workshop manual.
I use little round magnets to hold it on the socket
That’s a good idea! I should probably get some of those!
Really enjoy watching the thought process and skills you are using to put this back on the road. Can you describe where you are? Thanks, When was the car last on the road? Was it pulled out of a field? US or Canada? Thanks, looking forward to your next videos.
Thanks for watching! I’m glad that you are enjoying the project so far! I am in Massachusetts, and I found the car on Craigslist. From what I have been told, it sat for many, many years with the windows open. I believe the last inspection sticker was ~2002? Maybe? I forget exactly. It’s a really fun project so far! I can’t wait to do more!
+1 For the "public service announcement". To add to that, you have a phone in your pocket with a camera. Take pictures when taking things apart! Because sometimes you put 20 different bolts, nuts, and smaller pieces in one bag that belongs to one part, but you will also forget what went where exactly...
Totally agreed! Photos and/or video are hugely helpful! That’s one of the reasons I make these videos actually! Thanks for watching!
This is some next level shit. That bend you had seems like it went in the direction of gravity from sitting out on it's side.
That is very possible! It could have also been a combination of gravity + beginning with a crappy rotted frame. The good news is that it is laser straight now!
I have seen video on shorting frames. I like to see a video on making a frame wider.
Where you buy the metal for the rear fram
I just went to a local metal supplier, and bought a sheet of steel that was 4x8 feet.
nice restauration project. car will be great if you use good parts. keep us informed please
Absolutely! I’ve got a long road ahead but I’m looking forward to it!
Are you sure you know what you are doing, mate, please be careful. Hooroo mate
Everything seems to be going well so far!
you put out a pretty good video! hopefully, you get plenty more subs soon !
Thank you! I hope the channel grows too!
I just want to say. I love the sound effects.
Thank you! I think I’m hysterical. My family does not.
Somebody shoot me!!! Why!! Would you patch a tire w less than 2/32?
I just watched this in case it helps ruclips.net/video/ShTpzNSjKTQ/видео.html
Pretty ambitious and impressive work! I like the cut of your jib. You definitely earned a new subscriber.
Heck yes! Thank you! I’m glad you like the content, and appreciate the sub!
They make some contraption that prints labels. You attach label to your box. You scan label and it tells you what you saved in the box. You would have to write that down in the app for reference
That would definitely be great to have. I’ll look into it!
I cringe every time I see you touch this project!!! Can’t help it. Love your content
Haha! Thanks! I’m glad you found it over here on the new channel. I found that subscribers on the @rattymusclecar channel tend to not watch these videos and figured a new channel would help the views. I was definitely right. These videos are performing way better here than on the other channel. Thanks for watching! I’m glad you enjoy the content!
Bolt organization is key. I agree.
Yes! It took me 20 years to learn the importance of it, but I’m a believer of organizing bolts now! Thanks for watching!
good vide, subscribed !
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
I'm curious why you're spending so much time on doors and tailgates when you have much bigger problems to fix. It seem like this is going to be one of those rat rod projects.
Excellent question! Here’s why: I’m cutting all the floors, floor supports, rocker panels, and much of the firewall out of this car. So - before I do all that, I want to get a baseline and know that everything “fits”. Then once I have all the new metal going in, I will know whether it was screwed up before, or that I’m screwed up during the process. It’s essentially one of the many “dry-runs” of building a car that is rotted beyond repair. I am not currently planning on this staying “ratty” on the outside, but the long term plan is staying very flexible. It could end up as a candy painted Lowrider, a hotrod with a blower sticking through the hood, a 4 cylinder turbo with coil overs, or a ratrod. For right now, I’m just focusing on replacing all the rotted metal with new metal. The rest - well, that is a decision for future-me :)
I love the PSA, Bags, and clear bins!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it. It’s a mistake I’ve made in the past and won’t make again! :)
Why do your air tools make the same noise mine does? :P
Weird right!? They all have that same awesome sound!?
New subscriber. Liked and shared.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you like the content!
My 63 Biscayne had needed repair on the right side also. I didn't need to replace the whole thing. I didn't know about the battery causing the problem. Good information and video - thanks.
Thanks for watching! I appreciate it!
AS an old 60's Chevy guy, good score! Use all of it you can.
Absolutely! I’m not one to pass up old Impala parts! Thank you for watching!
Great job. The sound effects were absolutely hysterical...
Haha! Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy the videos!
Fred Flintstone special!
Seriously! It’s getting better though! Thanks for watching!
Kool, I grew up with a '63 283/ 3spd. wagon, many good memories. T/Y for posting, we will watch your progress.
Excellent! Thanks for watching! I really appreciate it!
Wow, what dedication, keep at it. I would suggest that you hang your ring up before work though.
That’s a very smart idea. I was thinking about getting one of this rubber ones for when I am going to be wrenching & welding! Thanks for the tip!
Soak the latches in a bucket of vinegar a few days checking each day
I do need to try that! I hear it works well!
I love your voice over sound effects. Hilarious!
Haha - I’m glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!
