Mike Finn Mouthpieces
Добавлен 18 ноя 2021
I created this channel primarily as a way to keep track of all my favorite tuba/sousaphone videos, and to support creators by liking their videos and subscribing to their channels, but I will be adding some of my own original content soon. Also, if you've got a video of yourself or your section playing on Mike Finn mouthpieces I'd love to share it here and on my website too.
"Chanson d'Hiver" (Winter Song) for two euphoniums and piano
This beautiful piece was composed and performed by Jérémie Desaulniers, check out his channel here: ruclips.net/channel/UC7T9wis6rZGQsf1GjBP_9Yg
Jérémie is using the PS Solo euphonium mouthpiece from Mike Finn Mouthpeices.

What kind of mouthpiece is that?
yo! i see the 3B outta stock now right before Christmas was tryna catch me one 😂 you think the 3 could provide a similar concept to the 3B??
yes, the MF3 is a good alternative, it's got the same comfortable rim and deep cup, but it's a bit more funnel shaped inside for a slightly mellower tone, maybe not quite as focused. Very easy to play in all registers with a big warm sound.
i tried cranking and my lip busted so bad i had to get a stitch above it and couldnt play for 2 weeks
What were you playing
The looks 😂
Man this mf cold.
over like instruments, im viberating.
what model u using
Mike Finn 3B
Sooza:
What mouthpiece are you using? And can i purchase it from a store?
Its a mike finn
what the music
I got a Robert tucci Sousa power -5 mouth peice is that good?
I don’t see this model on your website
I have a hard time keeping the 3B in stock, it's so popular! But it's up there right now (Sept. 2023)
🙄
Mouth peice?
mf3b i think
Mf3H
For me that’s cursed because your puffing your cheeks but me a trombonist can’t puffy our cheeks
you can once you're good- same is true for most brass instruments. it tends to reduce the air pressure, make your sound a bit flatter, and loosen your lips making it harder to play high, but it can seriously help your tone later on. I'm assuming the main reason he's doing it here is to "crank that shit" or, in more professional terms, play like a god.
I love cranking on trombone. This seems like so much fun as well
Its not as easy on tuba
@@bIuecap 😐
@@MusicalBlam what that mean 💀
@@bIuecap derrrrr
Puffy cheeks
It's hard not to on a tuba, especially this cranky and loud
@@MusicalBlam yea but it can be controlled and Iam just suggesting it so that he can improve upon it as a fellow tuba player
Nothings wrong with puffing cheeks on tuba. Tuba is about being relaxed and LOOSE. The Face is naturally gonna puff. Everyone has a different face and mouth so some are comfortable with the cheeks in or cheeks out. He’s playing on a large mouthpiece with a large deep cup as well.
How you crank?
Strengthed diagram
Any tips on how to pedal? You made it seem so easy.
What worked for me was thinking of my posture as loose as possible first, trying to replicate a horse lol, then you do that into your mouthpiece and start small adjustments to make it sound clean and in tune, tightening the corners, how much air you push, etc.. Disclaimer throught that learning process I used to get really dizzy from all the air the pedal tones take. But once you get used to it it's awesome.
@@roysanabria7725 it’s different for everyone
how you crank like that my boy, i try and it comes out loud but normal tone.
Best tip is flex your ab muscles while you’re playing and focus on pushing from your diaphragm you’ll feel your lips start smacking against the inside of the mouthpiece and it’ll hurt at first but that’s how your lips get stronger
That’s facts bro when I play baritone I hear everyone else cranking and I just play loud
@ayoq2daily force as much air though the instrument as you can and lower your jaw some
biggest tip is push the air as fast as you can directly down the hole of the mouthpiece
What size mike Finn is that I want one so bad smh
it's a "lite" version of my MF3H, unfortunately I haven't got any in stock right now (June 2022) but I've got some 5H and 3B which are both excellent for sousaphone.
@@mikefinnmouthpieces3300 do you have any of those in stocks now?
@@cchisolm92ccwhat’s good Goat!!!
Playing too hard sounds like crap!!!! Learn music! Learn how to play correctly!
U have to be joking...
@@xanwyaa no it sounds like crap. Literally. But hey to each their own.
@@edfarms3168 you must be in corp style lmao
@@Unknown-gt9md ok that style of playing is fine when you're in some high school football band. But what style of music would it sound good to play so loud and disgusting? Please tell me. Sounds like crap too loud on any instrument.
@@edfarms3168 add my on instagram so i can show u the diffrence
What's the difference between the light nd the heavy model? Does it make your tone darker?
that's right, darker tone, easier "slotting" notes, less break up of sound at higher volumes are some of the benefits of heavier mouthpieces.
Bro I also have played industry baby! Its such a fun song on sousaphone!
I remember playing this too
🔥🔥
Which model is it
he's playing the "lite" version of an MF3H, from Mike Finn Mouthpieces
@@mikefinnmouthpieces3300 can you make a video or picture to show what each module looks like
@@deucecuts that's a great idea, I will do it when I have a chance. Got some other ideas too, keep an eye on my channel...
@@mikefinnmouthpieces3300 how do you buy the lite version
@@deucecuts shoot me an email mikefinnmouthpieces@gmail.com
bro i played tuba in middle through high and he messing all the notes up
So you that one person that doesn't know that every band got a different version of a song.
do you not realise tuba has a different part from the band? they dont have melody. and his tuning or tone isnt so bad either.
This is the bass part.
That's the baseline to Norfolk version he didn't mess up at all
bro you talking about middle school this song wsnt even out so plz save it man...
Bro I always wanted those mouth pieces
What are they called
@@deucecuts it’s some kind of buzz mouth piece if you ask your director he will probably know that
the mouthpiece he's using is a "lite" MF3H, from Mike Finn Mouthpieces
