Great question. Actually the motion wasn't bad at all. Since Oasis is such a big ship, it hardly has any rocking. It also depends on the weather though. September sometimes has storms, but the cruise ships are able to navigate around storms. The only times I've had trouble is close to the ports when the ship can't avoid a storm.

That's a good perspective. I've stayed in rooms ranging from interior to two-floor suites. I definitely agree that more space is nice and the views are spectacular in suite rooms. However, just being on a cruise itself is amazing so any chance to get on a ship is great in my book!

I was only able to bid once on one category. When I got my bid, however, I do remember seeing the opportunity to upgrade again. It may be specific to the cruise and availability of the rooms though.

If you travel together in the same cabin, then you get the same status level that she does. Make sure you visit the loyalty ambassador. Everyone in the room gets the loyalty level. 👍👍 So go for it. You get your own drinks!

Yes there is. Most rooms like this have a curtain to pull across to separate the main bed from the bunks. I think I've only seen one room without a curtain but there were curtains in front of each bunk to create privacy.

Agreed! It has been a while since I've been on a smaller ship but it really is nice. They were still running on lower capacity so it was never difficult to find a seat.

The talent on these ships is phenomenal. I bet they would win gold medals if they went to the Olympics. I was talking to the cast and they said this is one of the only industries where they can figure skate every day and get paid for it.

I know that the earliest age for Aquatots has to be potty trained. I think 3 years old. The Adventure Ocean group goes up to age 12 I believe. After that they have a teens area but they can check in and check out at whenever they want.

I don't think they have a certain time of day that the 3 day rule starts... it just has to be dated for 3 days or less before the cruise departs

I hate this update. It was better before. They didn't count the drinks in the Dimond lounge so you could get as many as you wanted. I use to dink as much a I wanted at the Dimond lounge and then get my 3 free at the bar and save them 4 later. Haven't bought a drink on royal since I was 21. Now I'm going to have to buy some :(

Can’t understand why cheap drinks only are included for the most loyal cruisers. If it’s only 4, they should’ve done it better.

Are you referring to the fact the the top-shelf drinks aren't included in the diamond drinks? I think that's fair.

@@AllTheThingsAdventures yes both bids are the same reservation. I got 6 types of rooms to upgrade. I placed my bids to all of these 6 types. but unfortunately, all 5 types are showing expired but except 1 type is showing pending, which is I am unable to modify or cancel. not a single option.

Oh that is really frustrating! I hope that RC is able to work that out for you. Hopefully with the lower capacity, there will be plenty of rooms available. Even when you get onboard, they may be able to make it right for that last room. 🤞

Great to hear!! This video was made before covid. However, this was made after the upgrade to Oasis. If the lower number of passengers continue, you should have the ship all to yourself! You're going to have a great time!! 👍👍

Awesome!! You're going to have a great time! I often find that I don't spend a whole lot of time in the room anyway, but having the balcony is really nice to be able to have a private space to enjoy the ocean view or at ports.

I'm cruising in February 2022 (for the first time ever) and am super confused about the difference between unobstructed balcony and "spacious" balcony. I'm super tempted to bid on a "spacious" balcony upgrade, but am having a hard time finding a comparison of the two. How big of a difference is there?

@@michelleneal6860 good question! If you look up the floor plans of the cabins, you'll see that the spacious balcony has more square feet of space. I think about 20 square feet more. It does make a difference, especially since you will have room on each side of the bed instead of it being pushed against a wall.

Oh that's a good point! The royal up bid doesn't specify where in the ship the upgrade will be! I wonder if that could be negotiated before the cruise though?!

Haha, right?! I was trying to be good!! I did a little experiment on this cruise though. I ran 2 miles every day and stayed away from the bread. I actually lost 2 pounds instead of gaining 10!! 🤣🤣🤣👊

I don't think it has anything to do with the original cost of the booking. I think it just depends on availability of upgrade cabins and who bids the most. In my case, the ship was only at 1/3 capacity so there were lots of empty cabins... so pretty much everyone got their royal up bids. I have a feeling that as long as there are limits on capacity from the CDC sail orders, getting royal up bids will be easy! 👊🚢

Oh my gosh, yes! Definitely recommend a room with a shower door. The showers are small and the showers with curtains always get stuck to skin. Not fun!

Hey!!! Great to meet you. No, masks were not required on the ship at all. (except for unvaccinated passengers and children) so it felt like a regular cruise. If felt a bit weird to have to mask-up whenever getting off the ship at ports.

Good question. Definitely check the Royal Caribbean website for the latest requirements. When I went, the requirements were changing frequently. I got several emails from RC as the requirements for my particular cruise were solidified.
