I'm a retired Electrical Engineer from IBM / Lexmark who just happens to have a love of film making. I bought my 1st Kodak Instamatic Super 8 mm Film Camera for $25 when I was about 13 years old. As you may have guessed I have a passion for the Apollo Space Program of the late 1960's, as well as vintage Volkswagen Beetles. And I have "graduated" to using a DJI Phantom SE 4K Video Drone for creating some of my stories. Hope you enjoy.

When I last Autocrossed this 1971 VW Beetle, it was a pure stock 1600 Dual Port 60 HP Sedan with Stock Tires & Rims and I raced in the HS Class. For THIS race I upgraded with a Racing Seat so I would stop falling out of my horse hair stuffed seats in the corners, and I upgraded my rims to 5.5 X 15 inch Custom Wheels and increase my tread footprint by upgrading tires from stock 165/80R15s to 195...

Munich air disaster:Happy birthday to YOU AHHHHHHHH!!!
As a kid I enjoyed listening to US Stations once the Ionosphere lowered. Summer evenings brought in lots of signals from Boston and NYC. Canada's Atlantic Provinces were and still are a great DX heaven. December 7th 1941 always brings a tear to my eyes even as I remind our US friends that Canada was at war with the axis from September 10th 1939 onwards. No more new cars, and only a few radio's until January 1940. However the back of the great depression was broken, lots of jobs but little to spend money on. It was a good time for saving and after WW2 covering a billion dollars of debt that the British owed Canada. Yes, Canada forgave debt and could afford to do this. I doubt we would do this again.
Thanks for sharing that very interesting story
Shouldn’t there be thousands of volts coronal static electricity on that thing? Around every 3 feet , you go up 1000 V so what’s up?
All I can say is wow. 😮 This video is amazing!
What does "nearly abandoned" mean? It's either in use, or it isn't. Looks like it's in use to me. You must have a journalism background using misnomers as headlines.
You're Too Funny !!
Big C-band dishes are beautiful As is the art deco building
What to me is absolutely mind boggling is that my mother and father celebrated to this same recording back in the day 1925
Sad to think about, a person lived in that house, took care of their radio station till the very end, just for it to be abandoned and forgotten. This generation has no value.
et on changeait d'aiguille à chaque disque
Those V8 engines sound good, heck my 30 coupe sounds good but not like that engine in your 32. 😇🙏
I waited much of my life to get one, and it HAD to be the V8. It will NOT be hot rodded :)
Great, just drive and enjoy the car. I say it is as close to perfect as you can get 😇🙏
What about the seat belts?
What about them LOL :) Seat Belts are not required for a Title in Ky for Vintage Cars that did not have them as standard equipment. HOWEVER, I do have a set of seatbelts, that I have not yet installed. I feel naked when driving without seatbelts
Had one years ago but not of this quality. Serious piece of steel. She’s a beaut! Bix was the best cornet player ever, he’s my favorite.👍🏽
If she saw the motor car today, and a typical modern car, with its reliable long lasting engine, speed and comfort.
The trestle was actually built in 1925, not the 1800s, according to the Bridgehunter website, a statistical listing of every bridge in the United States. Nice drone shots btw.
ruclips.net/video/XkdC6dGja_s/видео.html greet from Belgium!
What a lovely car she sounds cool! From U.K.
As a former three-station owner, I can reiterate that this station, while appearing "abandoned" could well be a fully licensed and operating facility. Unfortunately, corporate owners dont always invest in the outward appearances of transmitter sites. Chief engineers dont often have the time or budget to keep sites in pristine condition, especially if they care for six or eight stations. Be careful, folks. Dont assume a station is "abandoned" and open for you to break into the place to look around or steal from. Radio stations are federally licensed, thus the FBI gets involved when dumb people do dumb things--like breaking into them! This video should not be labeled "abandoned station" IMO.
Looks fun
Essa carroceria não é do 1971
Este es un VW Escarabajo 1971 100%
Wow... AM about gone. I'd take it and make it a talk radio especially at night. Like an Art Bell programming.....
Very nicely done atta boy for making it a driver now go smash some bugs!
The only thing I would change is install duals with Smitty glass-pack mufflers.
What is the C-Band dish for?
The Studio is no longer located inside the building, though at one time it was. My guess is that the C-Band is a link to the Studio located interior to the city.
Awesome !!!

I sure wish I could have lived in those days.
That is a beautiful thought
Tempo di friggin' funeral. Singers gasping for air. Playing newer records on older Victrolas is silly.
George, have you ever heard of "Auld Lang Syne". Do you even know what its all about and why it is so special to play on an Old Victrola. ? But I am glad you listened to it.
@@georgedabrowski6900 Are you suggesting that a 1940's Guy Lombardo was never played on a 1925 Victrola ? What are you talking about ?
@@georgedabrowski6900 I agree with your premise, BUT, please do not discount the usage of the 1925 Victrola in the 1940's. Not everyone was a rich as your grandparents. BTW, How old are you ? I'm 66 Years old and I bought this 30 years ago. I have played all types of 75's on this.
@@georgedabrowski6900 Love it !! Great Memories. I know of at LEAST 25,000 Viewers who LOVE to hear Guy Lombardo on a 1925 Victrola. I mean what better way to ring in the New Year if your electricity has gone out. !!
Strange that all ppl from 1800..ws ginius inventers...we belive in strange stories from the past..all them compagnie have the same stories.. we knw nun abt the real inventers🤐
This was Europe in peak superpower, before 2 world wars destroyed it forever.
A sad ending it was pretty cool would look great by the new bridge between the big four they say it was too expensive to operate and needs new computer to operate LG&E should step up to donate power to run it remember it was donated by the Bingams to the city
Beautiful recording!
78 rpm!
I had a Victrola.Beautiful.♥️
That’s great.
every time i watch this video there are tears in my eyes . what she and her two sons did will live on forever

well you got that going for you ! and guess what your still wrong as benz has the pat. @@Arltratlo

A marvel of engineering really. I just wonder of the train operators say a little prayer just before they cross this one. Wow! Very cool trestle!

1:53 does that plate look warped and loose to anyone else?
I have a pretty discerning eye, but I could not see anything suspicious at 1:53
I learned to drive in a ‘32 V8 Ford at age 10 on the farm in MN. My daily driver was a ‘30 Model A....I never thought to add side mirrors! Still driving that original Model A, now in Silicon Valley CA, 62 years later. Two side mirrors now!
When backing up, particularly in my narrow garage with cars in the drive way, I GOTTA have my 2 side mirrors :)
That looks like WHAS in Louisville Kentucky that station is alive and well the studio is in down town
You are correct !! They are alive !! Their Art Deco building should be renovated and on the Historic Registry !
That is a nice looking bug b
great pitty all the false flags sold with this great technology.
Lovely gramophone!! I currently Have 2 working ones, i plan on geting more
You breathing pretty heavy must be excited.
Noooo I'm just FAT !! :)
An absolute beauty - thanks for sharing! It's an absolute honor to own an original '32, and I can see it's in good hands!
Thanks for your kind words. I absolutely love your videos. Please keep making them. I use them for maintenance references a lot, because there are not very many 1932 Videos. I am "refurbishing" my very unique 1932 Trico Vacuum Windshield Wiper Motor and using your Video as a great reference. It just so happens that the "vacuum bowl" on most Trico Motors are nearly identical. So I am using a Model A Vacuum Bowl to resurrect 1932 Wiper Motor
@@pawleymediaconsultantsllc5 Thanks alot, I'm humbled! Do you know the advertisement film about the '32 ford? It's about the most detailed video on a Model B I could find - lousy image quality (and no tolerances or torque values sadly, of course), but it certainly shows almost any component of the car disassembled
@@AstraWerke Yes I believe I have seen that video. I have used it as a reference many times ! - Dan
Fantastic! These cars are an experience to own and drive. I've been involved with Model As for over 57 yeas and loved every moment. Your 32 is beautiful. You will have more wonderful experiences with her than you can imagine. Be safe and enjoy. Clinton Model A'r doin' his thing
