Whitetail Deer: A Visual Diary
Просмотров 743 года назад
This year has been really rough. But one silver lining is that I was able to explore the woods and take the time to get to know the animals I have always loved but never had the opportunity to truly watch and understand. Here is a 13-minute montage of White-Tail deer, the beautiful creatures that have kept me going all the way through quarantine. Watching them grow, and just live has been an un...

You managed to put four of the greatest movies ever in sequence from number 159 to number 156! Especially Ran, a top ten movie ever. These four straight are better than any other four movie sequence on this list.

    Why 358?

Pretty good list, but I do question which movies you have seen. I think roughly 40 of my top 50 movies didn`t make your cut of 358 which seems rather odd. Where is Inception, Interstellar, Shawshank, Fight Club, The Batman Arkham Trilogy, Casablanca, A clockwoks orange, Eyes Wide Shut, Schindlers list, The Social Network, American History X, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Titanic etc.?

Thank you for your comment. Lists and film taste are all subjective and this is my list of films that I love and feel drawn to. That said, to address your question, I’ve seen most of the films that are out there. 2,500 something now and I see a record of about 300 to 500 new movies every year with my list changing frequently to meet new watches and rewatches. With your list, I’ve seen them all. I’m personally just not the biggest fan of your first five plus Eyes Wide Shut and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. They’re just not my taste and didn’t work for me. I get they’re extremely well loved but again, my subjective experience. I like Nolan but didn’t feel emotionally invested in Inception. Interstellar a little more but still not as much as Oppenheimer or his first film, Oppenheimer especially because I care about that topic. If you don’t realize already, historical dramas are one of my favorite genres. Social Network I appreciate but the story still hasn’t excited me as much after repeated viewings. I just don’t care about Zuckerberg. Casablanca and American History are in my list just further down. Titanic is good but isn’t one I go back to over and over again.

If I had to choose that many movies, I would mostly include mostly black and white movies, from the 1930s, 1940s , and 1950s and many 3 strip technicolor movies and plenty from the 1960s. The golden age of movies. Many actors were staged trained, unlike today. Many so called movie experts ( especially the last 35 years) do not watch old movies, they are turned off by Black and white movies. And today , CGI movies, just horrible!

Wow, this is an amazingly well-made video and I love the way you credited editors and cinematographers along with the director. The music is exceptional, too; Morricone makes everything better! Great work with this 🎉

A fantastic video, it must have taken some time to make. I love comparing my favourite films to other people's. I have a list of my favourite 350 films. Not too many appear on both our lists, many of those that do are from Hitchcock: Young and Innocent Dial M For Murder Seven The Omen 12 Angry Men Silence of the Lambs Rope Air Force One Frenzy North by Northwest Rear Window Witness Psycho The first four Indiana Jones films. My personal top 10 movies are: 10 Scream (1996) 9 Red (2010) 8 Lethal Weapon 2 (1989) 7 Carry on Abroad (1972) 6 Dirty Harry (1971) 5 Beverly Hills Cop (1984) 4 Damien: Omen 2 (1978) 3 A Fish Called Wanda (1988) 2 Die Hard (1988) 1 Halloween (1978)

Thanks dude! Yeah, the update for this year has taken months/sustained weeks in the last few weeks of amassing the footage and cutting it just right... Only in the last few days, it's taken me more time than I expected to work on the subtitles and name title cards. But even that has been a thorn in my side. I was editing in Davinci Resolve this time so there wasn't a way of making it exact. 😂

I thought that the first half with the whole sequence of Saroo going missing and then getting adopted was very strong. I know friend who were also adopted and the scenes of him getting to know his adoptive parents really made me think of their experiences. As for the second half, I am a huge fan of Rooney Mara and vibe with every performance. I was also very touched by the scenes of Saroo finding his home again via Google Earth.

And stroy about his adopted brtoher absolutely not disclosed. His brother is in the movie only because he is in real life and this all, director or screenwriter didn't even try, But i get it, we have different views and that's ok. I found your selections in line with my tastes. Early Hitchcock British films are so overlooked, I love your choice of "Young and Innocent" and "Sabotage". In your list you did cover most of Hitchcock's important American films and gave them the importance they deserve. "La Dolce Vita" was missing from your list and it is one of my absolute favorite movies as well as most Fellini movies. I love the contrasts: "Alien"- "Bringing up Baby", "Psycho"- "12 Angry Men", etc. Ah, in my 86 years of life I have had one consistent love: movies!

I've definitely been appreciating how many films there are in the world, and I've been taking every chance I can to see them all. Some of them I really like but others not as much. Unfortunately I am still getting used to Fellini. I am definitely going to give his films another rewatch/chance though.

@@abrahamchen8627 Abraham, I am Italian and understand the to Italians, emotions are more important than logic. Italian film is not story but character! "La Strada" is one Fellini movie that everyone can understand because it tells a story. Many times Fellini gets into character development and the story is less important than the clash of personalities and the Italian way of piling sequences on top of one another. "La Dolce Vita" is a movie that you need to see many times and finally, you "get it!" I love that movie and its "patch-work quilt" quality of character development. Most Americans are plot focussed and this movie eludes them because it is character development. I highly recommend multiple viewings of this movie. Once you "get it", you will consider it one of the great movies!

Factors include (1) If it's an older movie I've seen, how nostalgic does it make me, (2) does it stand the test of time? Newer ones: (1) Their watchability for me, (2) Technicals. (3) Story, (4) characters. I really like when the film also makes me emotional so any film that ends up on my lists will be because it hit me in the gut and me me cry or because I was thoroughly entertained.
