Salamanca - First Day of Spanish

(NO PAINTING) Language immersion is quite a shock the first time you try it. I attempt to catch up in the afternoon by studying for 4 hours, then go exploring to find a beer, ending up with a delicious Chouffe Blanche. Only then do I find that just that afternoon I have missed the "Monday of the Waters" festival, when tradition says the prostitutes are allowed to cross the Tormes River back into Salamanca after Lent. Later in the week I have a hornazo, the traditional spicy meat pie of the festival.

The Camino works in mysterious ways, providing answers to questions not asked.
