That said I think getting backlash for donating money to prop 8 is perfectly reasonable. I don't really think it's all that different from donating money to like a segregationist in the '50s or '60s. You wanted less than equal rights for members of society. A piece of legislation, or a referendum for that matter, can be bigoted or an exercise in bigotry. Is that a reason to boycott the browser? On its own I don't know... Probably not. I mean supporting a controversial ballot referendum nearly two decades ago... But I'm not going to begrudge anyone that feels differently.

Brave doesn't allow extensions on mobile which pretty much makes it a no-brainer to go with Firefox as the primary. Ublock origin recommends Firefox 2 I think. Plus I don't know how brave is going to adjust to mv3 since it's technically a chromium browser

If I may I suppose you use Voicemeeter in your PC and it`s the reason as to why your voice crackles. The fix is to find the audiodg.exe in task manager and not let it use core 0, you can permanently change that using process lasso or you have to do it manually every time you turn on your PC in task manager. If you need a more elaborate guide search in google something like "Voicemeeter audio crackling process lasso fix" edit1: Sorry just remembered you use Linux, ignore everything I said.

While this works okay, I would rather just install Waydroid to the steam deck and run a 60fps Mod APK of the Android port. That way you'll get native widescreen, native controller support and 60fps with no additional mods or fiddling.

Redot has done nothing. All they did was hit the "fork" button on GitHub. That's not a fork in any meaningful sense of the word, because it has not actually diverged from the upstream; they haven't made any changes to the product. They haven't even so much as changed the README, which is still titled "Godot" -- it's so cringeworthy that they would just hit the button and announce it as some kind of major project. The GitHub user behind it is also a nobody with no contribution history to Godot (or any projects for that matter) and no experience to speak of in Open Source. What a joke.

For me to use the Redot engine is important only the clarity of documentations and availability of tutorials online, video or blog. Also if ChatGPT knows what I am asking about helps ALOT.

My main concern for Redot is that, unfortunately, politics is an unavoidable thing for anyone trying to build a community. At some point you have to decide what kind of speech is/is not tolerated on your platform, and that's an inherently political decision. If they try to avoid those politics by simply not moderating their platform, the most likely outcome is they'll end up like every competitor claiming to "fight the gatekeepers" that's ever been made - overwhelmed by the toxic users that got kicked out of everywhere else. That said, if they can keep the ship on course and add some genuinely useful features to their fork, then they have the potential to pull off some really great things. Only time will tell.

Only time will tell. If Redot can provide support that Godot is not then they could really take off. If it is better run and makes upgrades that people want then i don't see why it cannot succeed.
