@@nomadjoiner yes each temple I enjoyed.

Ich bin am 13. Oktober gestartet und war bis zum 5. Dezember unterwegs

Thanks. I'm about to resume from T41~
Couldn't find much info on hiking here in winter. It's nice to know you can do this without anything special, thanks!
you are welcome
why do they scrutinize the sleeping portion and not the walking portion when it comes to tents? "Sleeping for Free" while there is no charge to walk? While accommodations are scarce , few and far between? Is there a curfew to be at a certain paid lodging by a specific time? Did you encounter wasps, mosquitoes , Bengal tigers and Bears etc. along the way. How heavy was your backpack? What would you not carry if you were to do this again? What did you regret no carrying?
I watched part 1 to 4 in one sitting. Awesome stuff. Thx for sharing 🙏
How many pairs of shoes did you bring?
I started with a pair of trail running shoes but dumped them after a couple of days and bought a pair of jogging shoes, which lasted the entire trail, Roughly 1000 km.
Would we need any traction device?
If you have proper hiking boots, no extra device like crampons are necessary
お疲れ様です! 今後も頑張ってください!
ありがとう
First off, congratulations on completing this! Thank you for the informative video. I plan to do this next month. Based on your experience, would nightly lodging be hard to find (I don’t plan on bringing camping gear)? Thank you!!
Thank you ! I think it should be easy to find nightly lodging. In November aren't that many henro on the trail. But i don't know how many guesthouses have closed due to corona. For more up to date information look up the Ohenro San facebook group.
@@nomadjoiner thank you so much for the fast reply! Much appreciated!
nice doing this next month
Have fun and enjoy it :)
@@nomadjoiner thanks I ennoyed it. Took me abot 40days n a whole lotta cash
Thank you for your video, when is the best time to do pilgrimage.... Thanks.
It depends what you want to see. I did it in October and November to see the autumn colours. In spring you can experience the cherry blossom. Every season has its benefits and disadvantages.
Harry Potter , really. ?
Of course :D
Hi Benedikt, thank you for your videos! I walked the O Henro also in 2018. I loved it very much.
Loved the 4 videos. Very similar to when i walked the Henro in March 2016
Glad to hear :)
Did you feel like walking shoes gave you enough traction on the mountain trails?
Yes.
@@nomadjoiner did they also last the entire trip?
@@SC-rh9pj Yes. I bought them after temple 13 when i was passing through Tokushima. I walked roughly 1200 km with them and i had no issues.
Thanks for the video. I am planning to do it spring next year, with my son :-)
How is the communal water washing being handled during covid?
Many thanks for sharing this amazing journey! 50days including a side trip to Hiroshima! Bravo!
Thank you for this series of Shikoku Henro.Very inspiring! Hope I could walk this henro soon. Would it be better to walk in the Spring. I hate rain!
Great vid man!!!!
thank you
Nice

Thanks so much for making this documentary, it has been a big help with planning our own temple-trekking trip. Thanks.
Glad to hear 😊
Congrats ! ! ! Hey buddy, whats that nice soundtrack with quitar? it sounds so sweet :)
it is "always be my unicorn" by Freedom Trail Studio and you can find it in the youtube audio library
Great videos and very useful. We're doing this in a couple of months time. Which guidebook do you recommend? Aloha from Hawaii.
the official one, Shikoku Japan 88 Route Guide, which you can buy at the first temple. it has all the maps and routes. Also useful phrases and phone number of accomodations. The guide book comes in several languages and the english version is highly recommended.
Fantastic! Thanks so much.
Hi, I'm just curious what date you started exactly. Loving all the red leaves along the way! I walked it in spring, so I had cherry blossoms for most of it. I started on the 1st of April and finished 55 days later. A bit slow!
13th of October till 4th of December
great stuff. bringing back the memories. I walked the henro in 2017.
2015, 2016, 2017. Was there for three Shikoku walking trips. Really not so much for faiths, but more on the local kindness. Shikoku and Shodoshima, forever my walking destination.
Excellent. Your video is definitely helping me with planning for my own Henro.
thank you very much, that was the main purpose of those videos.
Nice video. Thanks for the information. Appreciate that.
you are welcome
Thanks a lot for sharing your trip !
your are welcome
Amazing video! How long does it take to complete the hike?
roughly 3 hours uphill and 2 hours downhill
@@nomadjoiner thank you very much!
Looking forward for the last episode :)
it is online now.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm preparing my Henro walk as well and this was really useful. Did you have a sleeping bag or only the tent ?
I started with a quilt but switched halfway through the pilgrimage to a warmer sleeping bag.
Thank you for these videos! I just discovered the henro today and am binging on info about it. I like the style of your videos and am eager to watch the rest of them.
Thank you very much. I am currently working on part three, it should be finished next months.
Welcome to day 6 of our 5 day planed hike. Awesome!😅 And Hi Aki-san👋😄
yeah that stupid typhoon destroyed our plans, but it turned out well in the end.
That was beautiful and it looked super professional! 👍
thank you very much
