Mango Study Cat
Добавлен 1 июл 2021
Hi, I'm Mango, an imaginary ginger cat.
One day, my Hooman-chan wondered how it would be like to work at her desk with a fluffy pet.
Voila! Mango is born.
My dream is to be a real cat but for now, I live in Hooman-chan's mind and I'm by her side all day long as she works, studies and goes on an adventure in plunging into a world of hobbies.
It's a busy world out there but having a pet -- even an imaginary one -- can make things more fun.

Do you feel the same way? Since I have been busy, I didn't get much chances to do my hobbies. I can't even remember when was the last time I wrote a journal entry. But slowly, I am trying to get back i...

Study with me - Japanese - Kanji practice
Просмотров 1092 месяца назад
Throwback to a time when I was learning kanji through this method: finding interesting sentences, singling out the kanji characters, and practicing how to write them by stroke order. It was fun because I love writing but it wasn't very effective. Now that I'm back after taking a long break, I am learning kanji through a different and more effective way. I will talk more about that next time. Fo...

It’s Mango Study Cat’s 3rd year anniversary today! It has been two years since I last posted here on this channel. This year, I'm slowly reconnecting with my hobbies. Here's an art process video of a practice session I had on Procreate: an illustration of a cat cafe. I did not finish it but I'm thinking of either finishing or creating a new version of it. I was also happy to find this in my Pro...
Stationery From Around the World - Korea | Cute Christmas Cards

Christmas starts early in my country. When we hear the term "ber-months", the first thing we think about is: Christmas! In the last quarter of this year, I bought some new stationery. Greetings cards weren't really on my mind but I knew that I wanted something Christmas-themed. I found this card set (by Korean brand, Book Friends) by accident! Let's open this box together, shall we? Stationery ...

Hello there! Here's another journaling video. I may be more into traditional journaling but sometimes, I enjoy digital journaling too. What I love about it is how easy it is to edit a page. Of course, stickers will always be part of my journal pages. Since these are notes from my French class, I'm using some fashion-themed digital stickers.

Hiragana Practice Drill - Study With Me - Japanese

After many, many years, my Hooman-chan has finally gotten back to learning Nihongo. She was in elementary school back when she learned it for the first time. She still remembers her sensei's name but she's forgotten gazillions of words. It's never too late to catch a rat err, I mean, to learn a language (all over again). Watch me cheer her on as I wiggle my tail and purr "Gurreattt job, Hooman-...
Creating a study plan based on your interests is such a good idea. I’m going to try it with my love for Japanese movies.
These tips are so helpful!
Not sure if everyone knows this, but MochiKanji even offers Kanji writing practice! It’s great for mastering stroke order.
great video 😍
Thank you!
Finding motivation is tough, but having Japanese books on the shelf sounds like a great idea to stay inspired.
Thanks! I can't wait to read them. There are so many interesting books! 😍📚
I love how MochiKanji has the “Golden Time” feature. The spaced repetition method really helps with retention.
Yes! Especially on hectic days, I try to have at least, quick study sessions so the feature helps with that.
App name plss🙏
Hi! The app's name is Goodnotes.
Thanks for the tip!
If you’re struggling with Kanji, MochiKanji is a great app to start with. It’s designed for all levels and makes learning more manageable!
Thanks! ^^ It's been nice using it so far. I particularly like the flashcards.
Hi there
Thank you for dropping by! 🙂
Hi Mango! Thank you so much for a good review of the MochiKanji app, and a useful video as well. MochiMochi wishes you and your channel more success with the great content you bring to your audience!
Thank you, too. It's been fun incorporating the app to my study routine. And I especially like the adorable characters (Mochi and Michi). 🙂 So cute!
The idea of creating a personalized study routine really resonates with me. Trial and error is key!
Thank you! It's been a challenge coming up with a routine especially with how busy this year has been. But looking forward to the coming months with a more enthusiastic outlook. 🙂
Your minimalist approach to studying Japanese is inspiring. Sometimes less is more!
Thank you! It took a while to come up with a different approach but I'm glad to have a more consistent routine now. 🙂
I started using MochiKanji recently, and it’s been amazing for tracking my progress. The app really keeps me on top of my studies!
That's cool! Thanks for sharing and goodluck on your studies. 🙂
Your video is so calming! I was excited to see the stack of manga/books you had at the end. I too am really motivated to read Japanese. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the holder for the Genki textbook? I have such a hard time keeping mine open flat on my desk and I think your wooden holder is really pretty! 🥰
Aww, THANK YOU! ❤ Reading has been such a huge motivation and I'm glad to know it's the same for you. I bet your list of "books to read in Japanese" is piling up, right? Lol. The one I'm using for Genki is from a local store but I think you can easily find it online. Just search for "wooden book stand". I'll try to send you a picture via IG so you have a reference. ^^
Thank you for sharing 🎉🫰🏽
Thanks for watching. How's it going with Genki? Have you finished a lesson? I got stuck in the middle chapters due to my busy schedule but I'll try to get back to it. 🙂
@@mangostudycat Hey, I saw you followed me back on Instagram, so thanks for that! I just started learning a few weeks ago, and I’ve almost got Hiragana down. Next up is Katakana! I feel like it’s helping me get a better grasp on the grammar. I’m also slowly making progress with Genki. Slow and steady haha..
You're welcome!... The language community on IG is really friendly. And many are at beginner/JLPT N5-N4 level too. Great! Keep it up. And feel free to reach out if you need help or recommendations. 🙂📚
@@mangostudycat ありがとう! I will keep that in mind 😊
Oh I forgot to ask but what program did you use or where did you get those sheets in the beginning for writing hiragana? I use a pencil / Ipad as well so that’s what I’m asking. Have a great day! 🌼🍄

I received mine today with the workbook as well 🙂
Yay! Have fun studying. 🙂 And don't forget to use Genki's supplementary materials (OTO Navi app and Self Study Room website).
@@mangostudycat I have the app so thank you! Listening and reading helps! 😊 ありがとう
Enjoy! And thank you for dropping by my channel. Glad to meet fellow language learners. 🙂
May I ask what app ur using? Great vid btw!
Hi! There are two apps I'm using here. They are: 1) Renshuu - I use this for kanji, sentence and grammar exercises. Also, to generate a writing worksheet per kanji character. 2) Goodnotes - This is where I transfer the kanji worksheet so I can practice writing them.
Does genki have kanji or teaches you kanji?. And is genki better or worser than tobira?.
Yes, Genki has a kanji section which includes 145 characters. It's at the last part of the book. I haven't tried Tobira but I suggest searching about it on RUclips. Tokini Andy has a video showing Tobira's contents. Based on his video, I liked Tobira's vocabulary section with pictures. Images are really helpful for me as a beginner. Hope this helps! 🙂
@@mangostudycat thank u
thanks so much for sharing the renshuu app! that's one i haven't tried yet and am thoroughly enjoying it!
You're welcome and glad to know you're enjoying it. I have been using it for a long time and I still love it! The gachapon items are cute and there's a mini manga too that you can read as your level goes up. 🙂
I think Genki is more easier to self study compare to Minna No Nihongo
Your handwriting is impeccable..❤
Thank you! 🙂
for pibo there is no translation so how do you know what each sentence means
Hi! I've only started reading Pibo books once I have already learned N5 vocabulary. For words I do not know, I use dictionaries such as Jisho or Renshuu. Pibo's lowest level is "0-3" so some stories are manageable. The pictures are helpful with context too. 🙂

Thank you so much. Glad you like it. 🙂
I guess we have the same enthusiasm for art and languages. Bet you love learning about culture as well, right? 😊 Anyway, you got my subscribe! Can’t wait to see your upcoming vids! 🤍🤍
Thank you so much! Yes, I love culture and it's one of the reasons why I'm learning languages. Are you learning any language at the moment too? 🙂🌻
I love it! -some love for u 💗
Thank you so much! I will try to post more art process videos. 💕
Hey 👋 😊 Please which iPad are you using?
Hi! It's the iPad 7th gen.
So nice to see that you support local brands! 🎉
Oh wow, i just ordered mine from japan. Can't wait to get started ^_^ currently im using only duolingo, notes and youtube. Did u like genki ?
Yes, it's been great so far. It's easy to understand the lessons and there's an app that you can use to listen to the audio. I hope you'll enjoy using it too.
do you write in the textbook or not?
I write a bit but only with a pencil.
Sugoi🥂
I really wish I had this book What to do But one thing is your video cuality is great 😃👍 U just earned a new sub
Thank you so much! And I hope you could have a copy of this book. It's really helpful and there are many supplementary resources for it. 😊
Ok as someone who is still in the very beginning ( In the middle of learning hiragana ) do you recommend to me buying this book or it is still too early for me ??
Hi! It might be best if you'd learn and master hiragana and katakana first before buying Genki 1. 🙂 It will be easier to go through the chapters once you already know them.
is CD audio still there like 2nd edition ? or the give URL
It comes with an app (Oto Navi) that you can download and use to access audio. It works really well. I find it especially helpful for listening to dialogues and vocabulary lists.
গুড
I love this book so far. The only problem with it is that the kanji is at the back, while the lessons are separated from them throughout the book :P Aside from that, great video!!! :))
You have a good point! I love Genki as well but there are still many ways to make it better. Thanks for watching and goodluck on your language studies. 🙂
This is my fave video!! and the background music was also so soothing and the stationaries were all soo cute and aesthetic!!! (* *)
Yay!! Thank you for always checking out my newest posts. I haven't posted in a long time lol.

Hi! I bought them from a local seller but I think you can also find them on Amazon Japan. 🙂
Nice video!! I like your method of taking notes! Best of luck on your french studying journey(^ ^)
