Hmmm, are you wanting to make the ruffle boarder wider or are you wanting to do 2 different rows of ruffles? If 2 different rows of ruffles I would work in the front loops of the row where you start the ruffle boarder. Once you complete your ruffle fasten off and then attach your yarn to the back loops that you did not work into. I think you could either create a few rows of your regular stitches and then do another row of ruffles. You could also attach your yarn in the back loops and immediately create another ruffle boarder. I would have to play around with it but those options may work. Thank you so much for commenting. You could lay something heavy on top of it once done to train them to lay flat.

Hi, it could run into your puppy’s eyes. The good thing about single crochet is it’s not a tall stitch. I would try it on your puppy before you fasten off, that way if you have to remove the extra row of white it’s not already tied off. I hope this helps. Thank you so much for your comment. @@montanacrochetcreations, Just FYI: I'm sure I broke some rules but I switched to white, one row earlier (half double crochet row), and used chunky yarn to make the white stand out more. Used the same white yarn for the pompom. It turned out super cute! Thank you again for this fantastic tutorial! My first completed crochet project! Merry Christmas, Awesomesauce!

Congratulations on your first great gradson. We had our first grandson last year in June. They are so much fun. It sounds like you have a fun Christmas planed. After all, it's about spending time with family not the gifts. We are spending Christmas at our house ( or my MIL's house this year, not sure which yet, they live in the same town as us). We normally have breakfast at our house and open gifts on Christmas morning. In the past we have all gotten together on Christmas eve and enjoyed snacks and watched Christmas movies. You should half double crochet into the 2 nd chain from your hook. After the turn of each row, you half double crochet into the chain space. This will give you straight edges. I hope this helps. Thanks so much for the comment. Happy Saturday.

The final measurements are as follows: 10.5” wide at the bottom of the hat. 4.75” from top to bottom of the hat. Space between the ears is approximately 7”. Thanks for the comment.

Yes, it would be 64. That’s the stitch count from when you started going down the brim. This means no more increase rounds.

If you look at the captions that I put toward the end of round 2 you’ll see what happened to round three and know how to proceed.

Hello, I actually made a Crochet Dog Hat that fits our 5 lb kitty. I think this one would fit your Chihuahua perfect. Instead of creating the grinch eyes, nose and mouth, create a small white pompom instead and attach to the top of the hat.
