Awesome Espresso, featuring the Rolex Explorer and the Delonghi Dedica
Long time no see!
Here’s a video for you Explorer and Espresso fans with a bit of chillax LoFi music to zone out to.
This is my machine: the Delonghi Dedica EC685. A great beginner machine that can be modded and produces excellent espresso. You don’t need to spend thousands of dollars to produce great espresso, but you do if you want a Rolex Explorer :)
Still my favorite watch and currently my daily driver. If you’re on the fence about a watch like this, this video should give you some context and show you what it looks like in everyday use.
The music is my own creation, BTW, and you may use it free of charge if you can figure out how to rip it.
Enjoy, Ciao :)

Tudor Black Bay Pro vs. Rolex Explorer II
Просмотров 18 тыс.2 года назад
Hi Folks, hasn't it been a longgg time? I haven't had much to say, and I haven't been buying anymore watches... but, that might change. 2 Tudor models have peaked my interest, and I might just sell my Rolex Explorer 1 :-O Yes, that's right. With the price getting all crazy I've been reluctant to wear it out for fear of damaging it :( Crazy I know, but true. So, I'm thinking of jumping ship and ...
Butler Watch Company GMT ref. B762.12 - my new $130 beater!

I’ve replaced my old Vostok with a Butler Pro GMT. A lovely 40mm, tough little watch that ticks a lot of boxes for me: sapphire crystal, 100m waterproof, screw down case and crown, Swiss made and Swiss movement. A real bargain if you can find one.
Wow! Rolex Explorer Prices are going crazy!

Today I’ll show you my Chrono24 account and the price development on the Rolex Explorer 214270 m2 over the last year, and especially the last week. Since Rolex discontinued the 39mm Explorer last week, the grey market has gone crazy. Who knows where it will go? And what’s more, the grey and used market will soon be the only way to get one of these beautiful watches. Now I’m really happy I got m...
Rolex Explorer 214270 - long term, one year review.

This is probably my final Explorer and Watch video. I’m out! There’s no denying, this is a great watch, and my favorite. I can’t think of any watch I would want more than this, so there’s not much chance of another watch video coming any time soon. I won’t take any down, or close the channel, and I’ll try to answer any questions if you guys have any, but remember, there are other videos, includ...
My journey to the Rolex Explorer

All the watches I bought, and a couple I considered, that I thought may prove to be a good alternative to the Rolex Explorer. In truth, only Tudor Black Bay comes close.

Georges Strap Review on Tudor Black Bay
Просмотров 9 тыс.4 года назад
I wanted to try a different look for the Black Bay 36 and came across georgesstraps.com and his page on eBay. This is the navy Premium French NATO in the single pass design. This is a 20 mm strap, but easily fits the 19 mm lugs on the Black Bay. The video also shows a trick for removing a Tudor bracelet safely when you don't have the professional tools. Enjoy!
Rolex Explorer 214270 Size Comparison

Another crappy amateur video from me :-) I got my grail watch: Rolex Explorer 214270 mk2. I wanted to do a comparison video for those in doubt about the size. Comparing it to 2 popular watches: Seiko SKX007 and Tudor BB36. Guys, this watch will definitely fit a slender wrist! Sorry I didn’t reply to comments in the Grand Seiko review. I did warn you that this channel would be low volume ;-)

Watch review and comparison with Tudor Black Bay 36.
It is, for me, the greatest watch of all time. I love mine. Can I ask do you have any hairline scratches on your sapphire crystal? I have a few that you can only see under direct light.
lol so this is what happens when you are fully in the matrix. Wasting money on pointless watches and tricked into buying expensive coffee crap you never needed.
Nice review mate. Does it wear true to size? or does it wear larger or smaller than 40mm?
great watch i have the blue dial its a 2007 model
The sunburst on this GS is mesmerizing ❤
Thank you for the review. How much is the thickness of the watch and how much did u get it for if u don't mind me asking..
Y do u wear them on the right hand !!!
This watch is a collection killer. I bought it 3 months ago pre-owned and haven't taken it off since. I've been collecting watches for about 30 years and have several including other Rolexes. This thing is just perfect. What to do with the others that just sit there?
I owned the 114270 and it just felt too small on the wrist in rotation with a speedy and skx007. I made the upgrade to the 214270 MKII and like you I sold most of my watches. Its the one and done for sure. Amazing to me coming from a 30 plus collection over the years, now down to 4.
Its running at 0.5 secs/day
Nice watch. You are right Covid 19 CCP BS Virus. 👍
A book from Rolex telling us all about what they have actually achieved in the world of horology. It is no surprise to me that the book appears to be mostly empty space, pages made out of space-filling card and pictures.
I have a 1991 Polar Explorer II that is beat up and I love it, a 2020 Explorer that is beat up and I love it and a 2019 BB 58 black that is...well you get the point. Wear your watches and enjoy them. Want a long term investment buy stocks when they are sale, like now!
"Its a very personal Rolex." What a great observation. Cheers!
the Best Speedmaster just after the Moon
I'm in the same boat. Have an older Explorer 2 and now worry about dinging it and losing a grand on its value or some scrote noticing it. My daily is a 58 but I really like this Tudor Explorer2.
Pro is a bit too tick. For the rest is nice.
Way too thick, silly
Mole mole mole
Nice video! I made a BB58 vs BB Pro thickness comparison video on my channel if you are interested!
I have that Rolex Explorer II (my only Rolex, bought new 12 years ago), and yes, the value is rising stupidly now more people realise it's pretty much a GMT II with fixed bezel (or a Datejust with 24-hour function, if you prefer!). The new Tudor instantly struck me as very similar in many ways, but they've made the case too thick imo. I used to wear the Rolex most of the time, but it's been kicked off that position by a BB58 Black for the last 2 years, relegating the Rolex to an occasional and travel role. That's how good the Tudor is.
I like Tudor a lot having had several different colour versions of the BB58 and I certainly like the new pro. The downside for me is the bracelet. Not the rivets because they don't really come into play when wearing it but the way they are different and worse than the classic Rolex bracelet where it connects to the case. But the size and style of the Pro are both winners in my book. I always judge a new watch offering by how many times I go back to their web site to see it. It happened to me with the BB58 925 silver where I wasn't even in the market but could stop looking at it so I bought one. This week there have been two outstanding watch launches. This Tudor Pro and the Rolex Datejust41 with the blue block or textured face. The Tudor is available to buy and the Rolex isn't.
Refreshing down to earth review……Northern lad …?….👍💥
Correct Lad 🙂
@@watchesandstuff6837 …..I thought so , so am I …..👍……which watchmaker do you use for servicing etc…..?
@@jerrywallop5647 I had my local, small watch shop service and repair my SKX once, but the Rolex isn’t due a service until 2027.
@@watchesandstuff6837 ok thanks……all the best…😉
That tiny date window looks ridiculous and completely out of proportion. The indices are too small, too. Why so much empty space on the dial?
I beat the hell out of my explorer, can't take it off
I completely understand Chris. It’s a perfect 3 hander.
Hang on to the explorer for special occasions. You might miss it. You can buy the Tudor as a daily driver. Just my 2 cents
Ha ha, wife would not be impressed. I bought too much camera gear in the last 12 months, so if I want a big change on the watch front, the Rolex has to go.
@@watchesandstuff6837 sell the Rolex. Buy the black bay pro and at the same AD ask for the new Air King. After a bit of wait you will have 2 nice watches for pretty much same money.
@@pjchling8088 if possible, I think I’d get the Boutique Bronze 58. I think it would be cool having a watch that ages fast, but can also clean right up again really easy. I don’t think I’ll be getting another Rolex. Maybe a Tudor and a nice Leica camera sometime.
@@watchesandstuff6837 our wives keeping us grounded as always 👍
BB Pro is still an expensive luxury watch, having it as a "daily driver" would still be a bit nervewracking, why not stick to Seiko as a daily?
Nice review!
We need more videos from you!
Sorry mate, it’s been sloww:) But if I do sell the Explorer and get a new watch I will make another video. I’m very tempted to go back to Tudor. The new BB Pro looks interesting, but the 58 bronze boutique edition is calling to me!
@@watchesandstuff6837 They're all too big especially after being so used to the SKX and Explorer.

Hi, how much you paid for it? Thank you
The Pontiff Archie smiles with this watch
36 mm looks stunning 💛
How does it compare to bb36 blue? Does it wear better or worst? Looking at these currently.) if you had to choose between those two?
Great comparisons....enjoyed the video.
Thos particular Omega you can purchase in Australia for just over 2.5 k but in excellent condition 3.5k.
Which acid did u used?
Hydraulic. Bought in a DIY center, for cleaning stone and brickwork.
Hi, I enjoyed your video, what do you think is a good price for one today..There is one for 3200 euro on eBay..
Personally, I wouldn’t pay more than 2000€ but if you find one with all the papers, cards, box and receipt, then maybe more.
Please Anyone know what size of screwdriver I need to use on a Tudor Black Bay 36 bracelet screws? Do I really need to remove the bracelet from the watch before I heat up to soften the loctite? Is it best to use a hollow ground screwdriver head? Many thanks in advance
1mm screwdriver tip and you do not need to use any glue for any reason as the screws hold firm without glue. Also most Jewelers will adjust for free as it is such a simple task with screw pins. I have never used Loctite or had to heat up the bracelet on any of my Tudors to make adjustments.
Thanks! I was wondering if 20mm straps fit.
yesterday in an AD the explorer 1 was at a price of 7100 dollars, it really tempted me, but I did not buy it, I will surely regret it shortly.
You did what?! 🤦♂️
@@ACDandMe I got revenge! On Friday they called me that they have a deepsea and I told them to reserve it for me
@@diegom.8773 deep sea is great. Congrats my friend 💛 I just have a soft spot in my heart for smaller watches
Horrible mod sir.
Move the camera not the watch..
I have a Butler J80. Great watch!
I'm seeing the new 36mm explorers going for 15k !!! its madness! thats double the price!
holly crap!
Butler makes an accurate, attractive, and very rugged time piece. I think you are really your Butler to enjoy your Butler. Nice to this video and thanks for bringing it to us.
You’re welcome. I enjoy it very much. It’s great on a nato.
How’s the nato holding up over the last year?
It got sold, along the BB36
Well I'd like to call that, because as someone that wears a 36mm watch I can absolutely say 36 mm is better period. 39 wears like a dinner plate
Dinner plate - lol.
Respectfully disagree on that point. But great that there is options for both of us
Dean Walker has a tiny wirst but bigger complexes!
I bought my 39mm a few years ago for $6,500. I love that watch and will never sell it. I’m amazed what it’s now worth after it being discontinued. My son will eventually have a nice watch.
I have the same Rolex Explorer MK2 39mm and I really love your review because I feel EXACTLY the same way about it. You convey it perfectly. I find it interesting that just 3 months after you made this video that the 39mm was discontinued and returned to its former dimension of 36mm. Also a two tone version... So now your 214270 is going for twice what you paid for it just months ago!
I have this, is yours easily scratched too? I have so many little scratches on my bezel.
I’ve sold mine, but yes, they do get scratched easily, but most watches with polished surfaces will pick up scratches.
Same
Sell the Rolex, keep the Tudor!
The Tudor is long gone.
