My gas tank locks but it rattles a lot, so this will work perfectly. I've been racking my brain for a solution, but I guess sometimes the simplest solution is the best solution, lol. Thanks, bud!
Thanks for the info! I also have an 06 DC with the same issue. Blk electrical tape helps to cover the blinking light, but is still an annoyance at night! I have installed an aftermarket radio head unit, so I am familiar with taking the bezel and radio out to get to the module. I am glad to know which wire I can ID to stop this annoyance!
Thank you!! Different vehicle, same fix. You just saved me a lot of time and effort trying to figure out how to possibly fabricate a replacement for the rotating bar that failed on my lock, or replacing the whole lock. The magnet fix looks great -- no one will ever know that the gas door isn't locked. Really appreciate it.
why not just remove the bulb of TPMS on the instrument cluster?
@@vergelbansill9811 Good Question. The 06 Tundra doesnt have bulbs in the instrument cluster. LEDs are soldered in.
Did it yesterday on my 06 SR5. Grounded the splice to the lower right nut that holds the radio in place. Worked like a charm. 20 minute job. Thanks.
Brilliant! Thank you, sir!
Can you just cut the pink wire?
Thank you. It worked perfectly
That's all. Completely dismantle your dash. That's all.
So you just grounded the pink wire? Is that right??
That's all ya have to do.

Wow impressive. Will be trying this on my 97 red tacoma thanks!
Dam still replying to messages. What are those specific magnets called gonna go later and get some

I love magnets. It's a life long attraction 😉
Very smart and wise move . Thanks buddy
So there's no need to glue the magnets in? They don't shake loose?
None at all. They'll stay in place just fine. Good luck.
You're a genius!! Such a simple solution to an embarrassing situation. Thank you much!
Happy to help.
Thanks sir

Sorry, where did you purchase those magnets? I’m in NorCal and I have the same issue with my 2000 Taco. Nice and cheap fix, thanks.
I got them at Harbour freight for $1.00
Nice hack. Seems simple enough.
Good idea! Its hard to find a lock and the dealer wants way too much for one. I personally dont like the lock anyways. 👍
I dont like the lock either. Glad I could help.
@@MrBobsson98 the magnet still holds strong haha
