Sleater-Kinney, RKCNDY, Seattle, WA, 26 February 1999 (full concert)
I have borrowed the video of this concert from user 86 Reality (ruclips.net/video/3Fi2BLKBJdY/видео.html), and substituted the original audio with a superior (soundboard) one that I downloaded from dimeadozen a long time ago, synchronizing it as well as I could.

Sleater-Kinney - 25 Greatest Songs (live) - My Choice
Просмотров 3384 года назад
My choice of the 25 greatest songs by Sleater-Kinney. Needless to say, many beautiful songs had to be left out. I have used live versions for all songs except Leave You Behind and The Swimmer (Leave You Behind does not seem to have ever been played live) Acknowledgement: I have used the following youtube videos: Buy Her Candy uses the video (not the audio) of the hilariously failed version uplo...

Powerful and beautiful performance of this great band. The lights sometimes blinding the audience were just a minor detail, although the video suffers from it. The vocals came also through rather weak at times. A big thank-you goes to my better half Sara, who heroically recorded the whole show trying to keep her phone steady while the balcony row was oscillating back and forth. Setlist: The Cen...

I downloaded this concert from dimeadozen a few years ago (prophetofog was the uploader). This is Sleater-Kinney at full maturity, with several songs from their greatest album “All Hands on the Bad One”. Only masterpieces (bar one) in this setlist! The sound is distorted at the beginning, but becomes fine after a few seconds. The concert continues after Words and Guitar, but, alas, not in this ...

This concert has been uploaded to dimeadozen (where it is still available in lossless format) by user MachlaD, who comments: “Very enthusiastic crowd, to which the band responded very well (namely by playing a second encore). Carrie Bronwstein's guitar was extremely low in the FOH mix, which kind of spoiled it for me, really. Other than that, very good show, good recording.” It may be interesti...

Prophetofog uploaded this on dimeadozen several years ago, where it is still available (according to prophetofog, credit should be given to rainman for getting the video of the show together). Prophetofog has also uploaded a couple of songs to youtube (ruclips.net/video/uvd8dcEtN_o/видео.html, ruclips.net/video/mr71K5xdfEQ/видео.html). This was, for a long time, Sleater-Kinney’s last concert, b...

I downloaded this concert from dimeadozen a few years back - unfortunately, I cannot remember who the uploader was. The concert is from the One Beat period, with 9 songs from that album, plus an early version of Entertain, and a number of earlier masterpieces. The taper, who was not particularly close to the stage, did an excellent job, and the sound is also quite good. Setlist: 1. O2 1:18 2. O...

I downloaded this concert from dimeadozen a few years ago, uploaded there perhaps by user prophetofog. The concert is from the early Sleater-Kinney days - yet, it is already packed with masterpieces. The only weakness is that it is too short. I believe the drummer here is Toni Gogin. Setlist: 1. Stay Where You Are 0:16 2. Be Yr Mama 3:10 3. Little Mouth 7:04 4. I'm Not Waiting 9:10 5. This concert is actually already available on youtube, with the problem, however, of severely out-of-sync audio, which is not the case here. This is Sleater-Kinney at a relatively early age, with several of their classical masterpieces. Setlist: 1. Dig Me Out 2:24 2. Little Babies 5:52 3. I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone 8:10 4. Turn It On 10:47 5. The Drama You've Been Craving 13:49 6. One More Hou...

I downloaded this concert from dimeadozen a few years ago - unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the uploader (perhaps prophetofog?). The concert is from a great Sleater-Kinney era - the masterpieces are too many to mention individually. Unfortunately, there is a gap towards the end, possibly because the taper had to change the battery. Apart from this, the sound is quite good. Setlist: ...

As the original audio of this concert is badly distorted, I have replaced it with another one (uploaded to dimeadozen by user bivrak, where it is available in lossless format), synchronizing audio and video as well as I could. The first five songs from this great concert. Very unfortunately, my camera unexpectedly died soon after.
my god this performance of Entertain is crazyyyyyyyyyyyy
Pure nostalgia. I saw them several times in L.A. during the riot grrl days. I'm so happy to see that they're touring still.
I was at this show. Looking back it was my favorite SK time. I loved the Dig Me Out days but Hot Rock and All Hand on the Bad One grew on me. ❤
Love at 16:10 when Corin asks everyone to put their cameras down (security blankets) because they dont have one. This was before the time of cell phone cameras so we had handheld cameras and disposable cameras. Little did she know cell phones would take over the world!😅😅❤❤
I saw them on this tour! Had a star crush on Carrie ever since. And, its 2024. Never seen any female guitarist like her.
Same. I wrote that in our local Seattle weekly music magazine called the Rocket and when i met them in Olympia, she said she read it. I was so embarrassed 😅😳 but at least she knew i was a true fan. That was during the Dig Me Out tour so they were still pretty 'new'. ❤😂
I still have a raging crush on her. I saw SK so many times in the mid/ late 90s and early 2000s. There was a huge riot grrrl scene in L.A. back then. Filled with lesbians. It was an amazing time. Hell, I have seen every episode of portlandia just because, she's in it. 😂
“it’s good to be in seattle…” …’answer me with industry…’ the first ever good concept album.
"Let's Call It Love" was just ON FIRE!!!❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
Absolutely brilliant!
Watching this again this morning and man, I am genuinely captivated by the electricity that Janet generates onstage. She was such a vitally important component of their sound - I still like some of the new songs they've released without her, but it's just not the same...
Incredible! I discovered SK in the late 90s with The Hot Rock - one of my favorite albums of all time. Thank you for posting this.
crazy how much the lyrics to One Song changed. this rocks but i liiiive for JUMP IN JUMP OUT/GET IN GET OUT
The hug at the end! ❤
I really wish someone could show them the video of this hug and maybe they could start working on mending bridges...........💔
Para os BR`s aqui, ali no cantinho a talentosa Janet Weiss bagaçando! DEMAIS!
hearing La La Love You play at the beginning is so awesome, since the Pixies and S-K are my two all time favorite bands <3
How did I not hear about this band in the 90's. Incredible, at least I know them now!
Reminds me of early Nick Cave and The Birthday Party.
God I wish they return as a three-piece again. I miss the no bass and one note guitar approach. I understand they enjoy having a few additional session and live band members to back them up but anyone could do that.
Agree. Wish they would include Janet back into the old. She's just a great drummer - one of the best, in my unknowledgeable opinion. Much better as 3 piece outfit - and it doesn't help they're getting away fro the who riottt girl thing.
Devastating having to watch Corin sing one more hour in these early live videos you can tell she still was heartbroken over Carrie which brought out very passionate performances heartbreaking song
Carrie is an absolutely stunning woman. If she dumped me I'd be devastated too.
Girl they were never together. That was a marketing gimmick honey.

@@jerrijuelz3795 um no
So if you go to Google this will sum up tha confusion ....here's what I found... Tucker previously identified as a lesbian, but now identifies as bisexual. She came out to her family when she was nineteen years old. She briefly dated bandmate Carrie Brownstein at the beginning of Sleater-Kinney in May 1994, a fact that was revealed to the world in a now-infamous Spin article.
I went to both shows. Poster cost $20, framing was $300
Holy hell, I never knew this video existed. I was just looking up the date because I was at this show (second time I saw them live) and got the tickets for my 30th birthday, which was two days later. Now I have to see if I can find myself.
Is someone playing bass or is it just the two guitars? I swear I hear a bass throughout most of the songs but don’t see a bassist!
My first instinct was to say "No," & I think I'm sticking with that, but I hear what you're talking about. I think maybe it's just an audio illusion, as everything else is so high range it makes the E and A string notes on Corin's parts sound like bass lines?
Check out this performance on Letterman - 3 guitarists, no bassists, Corin on low range line, and it sounds like a bass but it's clearly got 6 standard strings. That's just her guitar's sound. ruclips.net/video/inN7vWUpeII/видео.html
Yeah! Thats why i dont think they need a bassist. They've recorded with one on a few albums/songs but never toured with one.
I was there 😝 lol <3

Hard to imagine a better band in the 90s, other than Sonic Youth. I could have been seen as a stalker considering how many shows I've seen in Cali, Oregon and Washington.

This is great!
I was at this show! 😃
lol me too
Thank you so much for putting this together. I also downloaded the SBD from Dime a decade or so ago, but sadly lost it along with the vast majority of my live music collection several years back, so it's an incredible treat not only to be able to hear this show again in its entirety but watch as well. Would love to see an official release of this recording - it's just such a great performance, and the fidelity is top notch.
23:02 ohmylord carrie is staring right into my soul
The guy screaming "Happy Valentine's holy shiiiit!" is a mood. I love this!!
I have this show on a VHS tape somewhere from when we had to trade tapes through the mail.
Miss I was a fan back then. I would have been there. Alas, I didn't discover S-K until 2002.....
1:51:30 serious lick
Carrie Brownstein will always be one of my guitar heroes ⚡️
56:58 come on man
wow playing one more hour at the end crushed me

I miss this attitude from them.
They are good, but Sex Pistols rule.
Um leave that on a SX Pistols comment

Thank you for this! ❤️
My gawd, they just kill, song after song. They're a goddamn steamroller of a band, even then. All praise, all kudos.
They were at their peak in ‘97. Dig Me Out was a steamroller of an album. One More Hour was on so many top ten lists. Break Up Song of the year. Saw them in Central Park in the Summer. It was 105° that afternoon
Nah, they sound young and green. Some things get better with age. Like NIck Cave.

this fucking rocks
Best American rock n' roll band of the last 30 years, bar none.
So true! (to the best of my knowledge)
Thanks for this, the three of them really had something, holy shit.
hell yes
fuck I was at this show
Possibly the greatest rock n' roll band of the past thirty years. They torched CBGBs that night. Damn, wish I had been there.
Saw them at Summerstage in Central Park that summer. It was 105° and I left after the beginning of guided by voices. They were incredible.
I was there. Great show.
LOVE THAT GLORIA COVER!
Holy crap, I was at this show! Like a time machine.
