What style of base wigs do you usually use for the felt spikes?

I hope i can get a response but the wig at the end that was all foam spikes please please what did you use as a base for the spikes? Someone is wanting to comission me for a saiyan wig and i understand the orher parts but i just dont know what the base is 😭❤ is it just a normal wig base or did you have to use foam for that as well?
