Nadine Khouri sings Bliss / SEPTEMBER 2006 / LEBANON LEBANON BOOK LAUNCH September 2006 lebanon war

Somehow in this frantic city I found my peace And somehow in all of this I found my bliss Squeezed me by the love handles Kiss me on the corner of my mouth, said: "'Ima blow peace like a kiss to your soul" Somehow my brakes were fucked and I was freewheeling into you Freewheeling into you My life hanging by a thousand liras... One life to grab by the balls And if you got love: You got it all

MORIS FARHI READING ABBAS BEYDOUN_ A POSSIBLE POEM ON DAHIA _ LEBANON LEBANON BOOK LAUNCH SEP 2006
Просмотров 14Месяц назад
This is a piece by the Lebanese poet, Abbas Beydoun Can I say anything about ruined spaces that need topographers, astronomers, city planners, cineastes computers more than they need poets. The place consists of heaps upon heaps of plains of ruined heaps. Can we be deviant and speak about beauty here? Or is the real truth the real ruin on our tongues. For in this stretched out unconsciousness. ...

KARIM SALEH READING ZENA EL KHALIL BLOG _ LEBANON LEBANON BOOK LAUNCH SEP 2006 AL SAQI BOOKS

I'm reading from Zena el Khalil blog. She's written it this summer during the war. Lebanese drivers. Today I drove through downtown to visit my parents. I was driving alone and I was nervous. I came across a red light And stopped. The streets were empty and I caught myself wondering why I stopped. Then I remembered my latest policy to keep me sane. That even under attack, we should not lose our...
MAGGIE GEE _ AGAINST ENDINGS _ LEBANON LEBANON BOOK LAUNCH SEP 2006

I'm Maggie Gee. And I'm going to read the ending of what I suppose you could call an anti-war novel, The Burning Book, which I wrote in 1983, but which I rewrote thinking of the Lebanon for Sakai's beautiful book. Against ending. Waking again from the book. You look out of the window at stillness, the sunlight on the pavement lying pale and still as peace. Stones which lie pale as peace. Unless...

What do I miss? I'll tell you what I miss. The sun coming up. Colour starting a sort of yellow dust or luminous moss gathering around the edges of table and chair. A bedroom window sill warming to the touch. Everything soft. A soft rain. Some average morning when an upstairs window catches the sun. And a young woman turns back into a room. Or a telephone rings. And once again she clears her thr...

No! Screamed the little girl as her mother lifted her from her bed. I want to stay here till morning. How else would the Tooth fairy find me? No! Cried her pillow as the girl left it. I need her warmth. No, whispered her grandfather as she started to disappear into the terrorised crowds. I want to see her biting into her apple and singing. No. Pleaded the mother as she held her daughter. I want...

But it is a damp. And windy night. November In Beirut or is it Sarajevo? They have occupied the two storey building at the end of the street. The people who lived in the stone house must have left it hastily. You can still smell that presence and see their faces in the pictures, hanging on the bedroom walls and in the corridor. Bullet, a name given to him by his companions, and the name that su...
MORIS FARHI _ TOMORROW _ LEBANON LEBANON BOOK LAUNCH SEP 2006 / AL SAQI BOOKS
Просмотров 5Месяц назад
Is a poem called tomorrow. Yesterday the poet Al-Ma'arri told us there were two kinds of leaders. Those with brains and no religion, and those with religion and no brains. Yet many people somehow survived. There were still the skies, the sun, the sea, mountains and forests. Love for life and wisdom to create. And myths and prophecies that promised clementines today. Unquiet souls warn us. Leade...

i love u guys hope all the lebs join together it is not gebran alone it is all of s..
WOW, I Love it, this is art...it's amazing! Long Live the echo of his voice, of his message and of his wisdom. We put all of our trust in his daughters. I Will Never Forget You Gebran.
stop violence stop terrorism stop hezbollah!!
The green helmet guy always manages to show up, but WHY WEREN't ANY MEN FOUND IN THE COLLAPSED BUILDING? ? ? Only women and children because the men were outside the buidling firing rockets? ?
for mickey mouse guy , it was just a slide show done in cpl of hours at 2am to give the lebanese hope that we can rebuild again in one of london's charity events ...since when hope stories are amateurish???
Who produced this? Mickey Mouse? Very amatuerish, leaves you wondering what is the story and message? Go Mickey and Donald Duck productions.
in the many reports i read about the qana latest massacre , they reported first over 60 kids because the children were torn into pieces , and it wasn't until they did tests that they realised many parts belonged to some babies... kids were torn into pieces...but they were 28... excuse me if 28 innocent kids, sheltering, most handicapped, are not enough...
People were protesting against the British government's policy. Obviously most people there would advocate economic sanctions. You can't equate the government policy with the people on the demonstration who by definition disagree with it. Would you rather everybody in Britain ignored what was happening?
some of them are pity on you because they dont know about the situation but i know and you know... i from the left side of israel i against occupying and against wars. but this time you exaggerate. i dont say that all of you hate us i hope that you dont cause we are not hate you. but you need to do
you only let the hizbahalla go there and kill our soldiers and kidnap them and they didn't do to you nothing. and then you cry and sing sad songs and expect the world will pity on you.
i am from israel. i wnat to say to you that we are the israelies dont want to hurt you. we left your country 6 years ago and you dont do nothing.
fuck you and ure hezballah and ure siranien syrien bludy project.... leave us live in peace or you are going to deal with the inside you guys or gays don't jnow yet.. baut never forget ure not alone in my country ... NO 2nd chance 4 you guys...see you soon ya hassoun FROM BEIRUT
u sound like repeating a tape recorder that someone told u to say over and over and over and over
it is sad that people only see israel as responsible but they don't see how hizbullah had responsibility also by firing missiles from there into israel... later they also abused the dead bodies so that the media will have a stronger image to condemn israel with - 60+ turned into 28 .. it is indeed very sad, but the fault layes on both fighting sides.
don't be so negative yes we r alone yes we cannot trust anyone helping us but believe me the real european street want to help but cannot 100,000 walked london and blais what? nothing... pathetic i agree but we still need to respect the people who r going out on the steets thinking of us
you said no one is involved except israel and lebanon? Well, Israel is backed by the U.N. and militarily by the United States. Lebanon on the other hand, is being invaded by Israel because it is "housing" terrorists whom someone needs to get rid of. Lebanon doesnt seem to mind, or fight against terrorists sitting in their back yard which speaks volumes on a global level about how terrorists can march into any country because no one is man enough to stand against them.
But of course. Here we have the laziest and most ungreatful nations in the world protesting against a war when they dont even want to get involved- but they will continue to complain and complain. Yep, thats good ol France and Britian. Dont make us come over there and kick your ass, France.
i myself aldo i am organising charity fundraising and marching for peace and lighting candles for the dead and trying to defend my country with my art . it is satisfactory...
aldo we know your concerns , i am worried about that too but yoy! don't worry all the lebaese will soon march on them if they do not leave they will put their act together ,let israel first get out of here ...we do not need UN troops in , we can spread our army sooner or later , the fighting can stop from the hizib allah side.it can and it will.we need the world to stand for this injustice
this video was made by some filmmakers and lebanese artists about the reality of the misery at the moment. no time for blame, will deal with it once israel is out of our land.it is a message for people who want peace around , no time for a blame game.there is a country that is burning because of one aggressor, whatever the lebanese think of each other at the moment , it is best to stand now united help our displaced and talk, communicate. i think we should have learnt our lesson by now...
this is a very touching video , try to read more news and you will know that hizbolla is not the problem here . it is the world. lebanon is only one example of what will be coming your way if this injustice does not stop. it is not hizbolla which answered disproportionately...
