For Kevin | A Year Without Batman
Thank you, Kevin. When I was a child, I watched you with my father. The Batman was my hero. He still is.

The Long, Slow Death of Fry's Electronics
Same with spider man 2003, the rich suits ruin all.
My head cannon is that this show is a prequel to teen titans
This was the first Batman show I ever saw. I was born in 2000 and it used to air on Saturday mornings maybe 2007ish. When Justice League reruns started to air a few years later I remember thinking, "That's not Batman, who is this guy?" I came to love JL and JLU, a few years ago I finally watched all of BTAS and Batman Beyond. Kevin Conroy IS Batman and will forever be my favorite, but "The Batman" will always mean a lot to me and I wish more people talked about it.
i loved the show, but never got any of the toys as a kid. im sad i missed out 🥲
Interesting!!!!!
Personaly i hated the multiverse thing when i was a kid it was really confusing because i didn't had internet back then and couldn't even look up on the internet i still don't like multiverse things it looses is main charm in my opinion
I always thought the upper half of jokers design looked very court jester ish. The hair being very similar to a jesters hat.
Didn’t both show die because of ratings so are the audience to blame?
Hey! Thanks for your interest in the video, especially after so long since it was first uploaded, lol. According to the creative teams behind the shows, especially The Batman (2004) and Justice League Unlimited, demands and changes implemented by the higher ups at Warner Bros., with special attention to directing the show towards a "younger audience" led to a decline in each show's viewership as they were required to implement certain storytelling tactics that would become more commonplace throughout the 2010s and up to today that resulted in a "watering down" of the layering and complexity of each show's characters, plots, themes, and ultimately, the overall stories. In short, while ratings were used by the execs as reasoning for cancellation, the ratings drops were due to changes enforced by these executive teams, making them responsible for the ratings drops in the first place, and ultimately, the cancellations.
Batman mask of the phantom and the batman vs dracula movie were the reasson i got into batman as a kid.
Well done.
It's been a year already? 😔
Great tribute to Kevin Conroy I truly felt moved from your words even though I became a fan of his in 2020 it felt like a lost a part of me. His portrayal of the dark Knight helped me understand my pain and made me realise I'm not alone.
that's a good essay tribute to kevin he would be proud
Thank you, Kevin.
The dialouge make me laugh now though. 😂
KMR's outstanding voice work and the unique design made this one of my favorite Joker interpretations ever
I loved this Batman so much as a kid I had all five seasons and the movie on dvd
“Now abandoned clinic” lmao it’s a bomb ass pizza place now
Yes! I’ve since learned about the pizza place and have been looking to remake this video (alongside a few others) to be more up-to-date.
Whats great is this show with all 5 seasons was added back to Netflix to rewatch with my family seeing what i used to watch as a kid 💯
The Batman will always be my personal fav, and it’s my fav take on Bruce’s character and the batfamily overall. The quality didn’t diminish in the later seasons but I admire the show’s original starting point, it wasn’t afraid to take risks and turn the Batman mythos into something fresh and new.
15:56 tbh, quite a few people thought the Robin from the Batman was the same one from Teen Titans, so ig there actually was some confusion there.
I love this show so much I got myself a red dress identical to the one Selina wore in season 2 episode 9 (Ragdolls to Riches, I think). And I love the fact that when I get to wear it nobody will know it's a secret cosplay. The fact we look pretty alike helps as well. Is it obvious I was obsessed with this version of Catwoman? 😂
Your editing kinda blows
As a kid I dint find batman interesting until I watched this show by accident which made me a huge batman fan forever <3
One of the hardest lines in Batman media, “I’m the Batman, and your dust”. From the Batman vs Dracula 2005
I hope you review The Batman Strikes 2004 Comics that were part of the ATS
So they canceled the show because of a movie?! man they need to bring the show back! but not like what they did to tt
You make an excellent point about these interesting and new interpretations of these popular characters being _'shorted'_ too soon. Matsuda truly is a talented individual who managed to *perfectly* apply his creative eye to the world of Batman with this show (👏).
Jeff Matsuda style really works. He did Jackie Chan Adventure. And comics.
Yeah his style is great! I've got the original run of the comic tie-in "The Batman Strikes!" somewhere in storage and they still hold up as stories today.
true passion
Steven Dillbeck is the SCIENTIST, What he has Been Doing in his Laboratory for all these years, is The correct answer. Steven Dillbeck will be the one to Lead the family on where to go next, he has that answer Also. African Caucasian women, Take your eggs and destroy the ones that you have, Frozen destroy them Personally. You all are not having your own babies and your eggs are not your eggs. Out of all of you all, Dillbeck is The SMARTEST, and a true SCIENTIST..
There must have already been people in America who were keeping some sort of Saint Nicholas traditions before Moores poem.
Definitely. The Dutch heritage of New York and the early mid-Atlantic colonies kept strong ties to their holidays. Moore’s poem was simply one of the earliest written examples of a prominent tradition.
This was my "Batman the Animated Series" as a kid. I loved this show.
Hot take(?) This is my fave riddler design and characterisation. He’s a genuine threat who almost succeeded
The scene where Ethan Bennett’s face melts off legit gave me nightmares as a kid 😬😳
I love The Batman, I first saw it onNetflix when it was still on it, now I have the Blue ray dvds. The Batman is truly an underated gem! Or should I say an underrated MASTERPIECE!
This is a very interesting concept great job
Title should be my opinions on the american university system
As someone who got into batman/DC as an adult but was suffering from a lot of anxiety at that time, I started with watching these child-friendly adaptations - the batman, Lego batman, justice League action - before binging the animated series. and although I can't help but adore Kevin as batman, the batman has a special place in my heart. I just love the humanity that Bruce gets to have, the cheesy public appearances, the acts of charity he does simply because he feels sympathy - see the first (?) episode where Langstrom lies about wanting to find a cure for his deaf granddaughter, and Bruce showing up to their place with a gift of hearing aids and using ASL. Just. Sigh. I love him.
'Child-friendly' The Batman... * looks at the season 1 finale * ... ya The Batman isn't child-friendly
There was a time when "child friendly" didn't mean "dumbing down," and it's sad to see the current state of kids' media.
i loved and love this show, finally someone who knows about it too
Why did you choose the annoying section break noises? It’s enough to make me downvote
This show just had a lot of foresight and originality: The laughing Bat episode is the building blacks for "The Batman Who Laughs" it's scary how the concept is so 1:1, down to a Bruce Wayne poisoned by Joker toxin almost turning Joker. A robot robs the Gotham Central Bank, wiping it clean, causes havock in a similar way to Bane in Dark Knight Rises, also manages to figure out Batman's identity. Bayou accent Killer Croc who actually looks like a crocodile voiced by Ron Perlman is by far THE BEST Killer Croc ever. The concept of Harley Quinn already having a few screws loose (instead of being a highly intelligent Psychiatrist that happens to fall for Joker through contrivance) is so good avant garde in my opinion, love this version of Harleen. The whole Ethan Bennet Clay face arc is OUTSTANDING, every episode of that transformation is gold, Bruce having a personal connection with a would be villain is something that needs to happen more outside of that villain being Jason Todd/Red Hood. Batgirl sharing a big part of the spotlight for almost 2 full seasons is awesome, she's a great part of the show and way better than the Timmverse Barbara. Villains (with the exception of Bane for some reason) evolve and get second chances which develops them further. Firefly, Mr. Freeze, Scarface, Penguin are all highlights. Riddler is awesome here as well, a very different take from the usual narcissist we get. The relationship between Bruce and Alfred is probably the most developed I've seen it outside of comics and even in comics there's rarely this much Alfred input. I'm almost done with the show, and from beginning to end the series is a blast, I'd say very few episodes ever really feel "kiddy" or looking to push toys on the viewer.
I think Robin from Teen Titans is the same one from this universe.
While they’ve got very similar design philosophies, the creators of the two shows have stated they aren’t the same character several times. At the time the two shows came out , the DCAU was still the top priority, and these were both partially pitched as separate reboots of their more successful characters to draw in younger crowds. In fact, the reason Robin didn’t show up until after Batgirl in The Batman can be significantly credited to the fact that Teen Titans was already on at the time, and one creative team had to wait for the other to finish.
Great videos. Keep going!
