sept. 2024 garden status

starting clean up of the garden. hot july in the upper 90s, hardly any regular rain. many pounds of tomatoes and cukes. the peppers not a whole lot.

these are a variety called heart of compassion. grown in 2024. meaty with very few seeds for as big as the tomatoes are. mild and sweet tasting.

this plant produced 35 tomatoes

these tomatoes consistently grow to one pound. have been growing them for over 5 years and saving seeds. yellow to orange depending on how ripe, these heirloom beefsteak grows to about 4 inches across. delicious. few seeds for how big they are. pulpy. the vines grow to 6 feet, so they need support like a cow panel to tie them to. they do not put on a lot of fruit on one plant, maybe 5 or 6 so p...
