Without doubt some of the most stunning wildlife photography I've seen on utube! Thanks for posting M8. John, UK.
11.42 I heard someone say the same thing about Kakadu. But it's always non-birders who claim to never see anything ie, they don't know how to look. They think a nature reserve is a bit like a zoo where you drive around and stuff poses for photos. These type of people only notice the most obvious, largest animals that practically stand in front of them but miss dozens of other species right in front of their eyes simply because they're not on the right wavelength. And when they do see things.. they're bored of it after a few seconds.. because they don't know anything about what they're looking at.
Added to bucket list! As well as that lens of yours! 😊
Good choice @martinrady!
Great episode Luke, lived in the Territory mid 80s to mid 90s, this brought back some lovely memories !!
also coming out there in jan 25 to see oz open will visit kakadu . hopefully see you . aj from london
That'll be great! Get in touch and enjoy Kakadu.
Lovely video, I thought the surfing crocodile was great! Hope to make it back to Australia again soon and visit the Kakadu national park. Thanks. Christine (UK)
Coming out to Aus for the lions tour in 2025 and after seeing this, just added 2 weeks to visit this place. Fab birds and brilliant video and narration.
Fantastic to hear ^& you wont be disappointed @philipnovis9433 Glad you enjoyed the video. Get in touch if you'd like to join us out there. Cheers, Luke
This was an amazing video with awesome shots and new information What type of camera do you use?
Ahh cheers - glad you liked it. Im currently using a Canon R3 with 600mm, however I used a Canon 1DXii with 400 with 2x extender to shoot this film.
Absolutely beautiful little creepy crawlies. I lived up in the Top End for a DECADE and never once saw one of those beautiful grasshoppers for myself. I feel like I've been robbed of something great XD
They are very cool - you'll have to come back early in the year to catch them.
@@ntbirdspecialists-lukepate6070 Huh, so that's why I never saw one, I never looked outside at the right time. Well, now I know! I'll have to fly up there sometime in the future cause I need to see one myself.
good video ❤❤❤
*promosm* 💖
Good stuff MrLuke☺️
Cheers Birdman!
Nice Luke, must come back soon.
Cheers Tom - it's a fabulous place as you know!
Enjoyed your video. We spent 3 weeks on safari just a few months ago. It was the trip of a lifetime. I took some of my best photos and videos ever. I can't wait to go back.
HI Bob, thanks for the comment - you lucky people - yes, 3 weeks is a good amount of time to get a real taste for whats out there. Its so diverse and there's so much to explore. We are very lucky to live here.
Woweee! That is definitely on my 2024 bucket list. I never get sick of walking up through Ubirr, there's always something new and interesting to spot. I'll see Gagudju with your team in 2024 👍🏼
Yes, how good is Ubirr! This trip goes into sacred sites of Arnhem Land = truly next-level living cultural landscapes and wildlife
Brilliant Kakadu video Luke it was just the job to brighten a minus 6 degree morning in Newcastle, UK. A great piece of work, outstanding video and stills, and of course the landscapes. Many memories of my trip 15 years ago.
Thanks Olive, so glad you liked it - it certainly was fun putting it all together in beautiful country. :)
Wonderful Luke. Brings back great memories of the fantastic birds you found for us while travelling with you in 2023. Hope to do it again some time.

Good stuff
Thanks very much
Great video Luke such a diverse range of birds and mammals, what about Love Birds or commonly called " Budgerigar"? What is the lens you are using?
Hello and thank you, we don't actually get wild 'Love Birds' in Australia, however Budgerigars are more common a little further south beyond Kakadu National Park and great to see when they get in huge numbers. The lens I was using was a Canon f/2.8 400mm lens.
Beautiful video,more please 🙏😊
