the Botanical gardens in the city are the old gardens. The real botanic gardens are at Mt Cootha around 7 klms from the city. They are much more extensive and feature gardens from all climate zones including a huge glass dome with tropical plants and amazing water features

I kind of hate our seasons tbh. I enjoy Summer Christmases but decorating everything with fake snowmen and fake snowflakes in 40 degree heat is a bit wack. Also most of our native trees are evergreen so you don't get pretty colours in Autumn. Winter is not that cold so you can easily swim all year round here in Sydney. But I would prefer to live somewhere it snows.

Remember when Burger King tried to take back Hungry Jacks license from the Australian licensee so they can operate as the sole Burger King/Hungry jacks restaurants. But Hungry Jacks took them to court and won. That's why there are still some Burger Kings restaurants around, a remnant of that time at the turn of the century.

burger king came to Australia and there was already a trademark on the name burger king from another small restaurant, so they settled on the name hungry jacks. They are the same place

depends where. Im 3 hrs out of Melbourne and on Sunday one chemist is open for 1 hour and only the supermarket is open 7am-10pm. You need anything else, you drive 100km one way. Even all but one pub is closed until 3pm-11pm. Used to be everything shut frm10pm Friday to 7am Mondays less than 10yrs ago.
