Little bit embarrassing we have people like this running Bendigo. 1: the building was until the 1970’s part of one of Bendigos largest department stores, the Beehive (HENCE the name mate) otherwise known as Henderson. Together with Myer it was one of the big two. Zero mention of that except the early years. Secondly, those artists impressions opening it (the lower arcade beyond the shop fronts) up were atrocious - but typical Australian inability to restore something without ruining it.

From memory the original,Bendigo trust office was in the east side of building enter from Lyttleton terrace, and in the mid to late 80s ,Blue light Disco was held in the main hall, several times a year ,and was very successful, being run all by volunteers, just a few things I remember about this grand old building,😀🇦🇺❤️
