@@matthewdavidjarvis6039 In nightmare mode the alien learns faster, in any mode lockers, being under beds etc work until the alien learns this is where you had been, then it becomes questionable and finally futile. With hard you can hide a few times in lockers and get away with it, in nightmare it will work only once or twice. The best place to hide is around a solid object clear on all sides, slowly creep around the object the opposite side the alien, unless you trigger a run or someone else sees you the alien will never find you and never learn, because you didn't use an item, but a technique.

@@matthewdavidjarvis6039 The game code is explained in a video I was ironically watching only an hour ago. ruclips.net/video/P7d5lF6U0eQ/видео.html In a nutshell AI cannot 'learn' however a decent game can simulate learning by locking off certain options from the AI (like checking lockers) until conditions are met (number of times lockers are used / difficulty level).

Sometimes the only place to hide is a locker, smart play means saving lockers for those occasions and those only. And get out the locker ASAP and relocate as soon as the alien is gone. Even at hard the same locker will not in my experience save me twice in a row.

It's a great game. Didn't get the recognition is deserved when it came out.

Same, it just keeps bringing me back. I found a level of anxiety I never knew I had until I played this game. I became so immersed in it that I still continue to use the motion tracker beep as a notification sound for my phone.

@@cainharris84 it is nice to know i am not alone about getting addicted to anxiety of this game giving me.

@@zeynepthemartian6423 it does seem weird to actually enjoy the fear that comes from playing these games but I think it's mainly like a "high" you get when you accomplish something, at least that's the way I feel about it. I just started playing it again recently and I don't regret it all but at the same time I think "why do I do this to myself?" Lol I'm an odd ball

@@cainharris84 i really agree with you. actually there are a lot of things that this game make us feel oddly enjoyed. as like i LOVE the voices of alien make. i love trying to understand which sounds makes alien at different actions. or even basically her sound of walking around, the anxiety that when she starting run after me etc.. they are all making me obsessed with this game. well.. if it will make you feel less odd, whenever i watch lots of alien videos sometimes i see alien in my dreams and i really like to watch her closely even it makes me scare af. i can understand why it is calling perfect organism, i really interest about alien itself !!

In the case there isn’t a vent, you should still hide because it’ll wait for you to come out. Or you can just keep the doors locked all the time

@@jebowar6679 I ended up buying the game since I've wanted it since I watched the play throughs when it was released. I don't play it all the time because of school, but it's pretty exhilarating when I do. Never owned or played a horror game before this one! I admit that I do have to take breaks from playing because it does get stressful, but there's multiple levels of difficulty to allow for scaredy cats like me.
