I have no idea what's going on in this sequence, both infusing the ice doll and lighting up the torch All i know is, Unslaad is a very big dreamscape of Grey Owl. He possibly shares the same fate as Micolash from Bloodborne, he already died long time ago physically but the consciousness lives on in nightmare (dreamscape) Even after we slain Gray Owl, the dreamscape still exist because Ldb and Lizz still remembers it Truly, a dream without it's dreamer
Man, what a ride At this point, i can't keep up with the story since everything becomes way too convoluted for one without knowledge on ES lore Despite that, I truly enjoyed the spectacles and boss fights throughout my journey, it's impressive how Vicn designed boss gimmick without relying on other mod In the end, i decided to sacrifice the dragonborn soul, since this journey is about dovahkiin and dragons, it made the most sense I left my char sitting beside Hoho at High Hrothgar, dude has journeyed through hell and back multiple times The journey has ended for now (Until Glenmoril is 100% complete, and Dac0da is ported to LE)
Glad you enjoyed it all! If you're still confused about the story (I was too) you should definitely join discord server dedicated to Vicn's quest mods, there's lots of discussion and explanation about the story there. I think youtube will shadowban my comment if I include the discord link, but it can be found in one of the pinned posts on the "VIGILANT Voiced - English Addon" nexus page. (or any of the english translation mod pages) However, unfortunately it seems likely that Dac0da won't be ported over to LE. From Vicn's blog: "Q. Is there no LE version? A. It's not there because it was created based on the SE version of Update.esm."
@@scrub9986 I'll prolly join the server someday, i also heard there is some mod too for the OWLC0DA series in the server (I think one of em are Hdt physics on Pelinal boss fight) Ah that sad to hear Dac0da wont appear in LE, which is understandable since SE system is generally much better with also fewer crashes. Ram limit too as well I probably gonna move on to SE, but there is some mods that only appear in LE and i have to find the SE ver, or figure out how to convert them so i can bring them along Ig now i just need to wait for Glenmoril to be finished, hopefully the new content doesn't require clean save
The audio effects for the weapons unintentionally makes this funny.
Whoah what version of Vigilant actually made Morihaus a minotaur and added them into the memory? I was always so super disappointed that he wasn't a Minotaur when I finally met him in my playthrough since being spoiled on him being a part of the mod is why I got it in the first place.

what's the debuff you get when you sacrifice your own dragon soul? Does it have any effects such as increasing shout cooldown, disable Dragon Aspect (since you''re giving up your own Dragon Soul which is kinda the basis for it) or is it simply a reminder of your deed?
It's called "Sore Throat" which increases Shout cooldown by 25%.

I don't know if you'd see this but is there a deeper implication to "Lord Shor is waiting" ?
@@TheGuidingStar179 My best guess is that it’s a pointer to us the Last DB who knows that Lamae will die when she leaves. Shor being the dead god, and Nords going to his realm Sovngarde when they die. (But Lamae is a Nede, so that connection is somewhat tenuous.) Shor is waiting = death is waiting.

I hate her and usually take great pleasure in killing her but this was interesting to watch. I might just let her live when I create my male IA.
It definitely helps to be a light side/saboteur agent since she is the most explicitly anti-empire of the IA companions. I also like that she's the only romance that gives you pushback. Its not just "press flirt and they like you more each time", there are some ups and downs that you can choose to forgive or not forgive her for, with us being able to see her grow if we forgive her with some "tough love". I mean no other companion romance threatens to kill you when you reunite post KOTFE lol. think that aspect makes it my favorite romance in the game.
As a member of the skyrim mod enjoyer community I thank you for your service 🍻

What was the ysmir book about?
Its a mythical tale of Ysmir's ascension to Aetherius. I think there are two reasons for its inclusion: 1) Ysmaalithax is the Dragon name of Ysmir. The first Ysmir ever started this, Ysgramor. Ysmaalithax the Dragon is roughly the entire myth of Ysmir manifested, and you claim that Myth as your own in Unslaad. I believe that is the intended meaning of when you take on the name/scales of Ysmaalithax, that Ysgramor shred and Miraak failed to take. Since you are connected to Ysgramor in this way, and are about to make a kind of ascension yourself, Hoholaugh gives you the book to help you understand what is to come. 2) The ascension I mentioned being Amaranth. There are a lot of things that point towards the segment at Dragon's Peak where you shout at Ysmaalithax being the moment of your achieving Amaranth and creating a new universe. With Ulliss being the mirror to Vivec, and Lizz being the mirror to the Flower-Child. (Read c0da if you haven't) So, Hoholaugh already knowing #1 and knowing that you will soon do #2, having been recently shown by the LDB how wrong he was, decides to help the LDB in his own little way by giving him the mythical tale of Ysmir's ascension to assist with their own, even greater ascension.

4:59 - Herkel the Fool? Isn't he from the Seven Fights of Aldudagga? 🤔
Yep.
Does anyone know what Alduin says when you summon him to devour Hoholaugh? I've tried to translate it myself, but didn't get very far.
Yeah, I'm curious, too.
The translation itself shouldn't be that difficult, it's figuring out what the words are in Dovahzul that's giving me trouble. I think I've got 90% of what he says down, it's just the beginning I can't find the dovahzul equivalent to. I think it goes: "[unknown word beginning with D] [unknown word beginning with S] ... ahmik qiilaan, fen kos du aan! Dovahkiin! Him kah fen kos bonaar!" I think the gist of it is : "I'm not some servant/slave you can order/request to devour (things)! Humble your pride, Dragonborn."
I posted a screenshot of your comment to the Vicn mod discord server "The Owl Archives" to see if anyone could get those last two words, and a user named Ngis said this: "Woop, dug around in the files. Vicn recycled two Alduin lines as sounds effects. The summon line is Taunt9 "Nust wo ni qiilaan fen kos duaan." translated in the game notes as "Those who (do) not bow will be devoured" The line when he departs is Taunt1 "Dovahkiin, hin kah fen kos bonaar." respectively "Dragonborn, your pride will be humbled" If you take a very liberal translation you could end up with that. Hard for me to personally say cause I'm not intimately familiar with the conlang."

These quest mods deserve actual voice acting because they're absolute works of art!..

Amaranth is basically an equivalent of Nirvana
I don't think Amaranth carries the same kind of "cessation of self" that is characteristic of Nirvana. Also, Nirvana seems to me (not an expert on Buddhism at all) to not have the same idea of "going to the next existence/universe" that Amaranth does. It instead seems to be a release from dukkha and rebirth in the world. Nirvana seems to be a sort of "final ending", an escape from the cycle of rebirth in the world. While Amaranth seems to be a "jumping to" the next better possible universe, continuing existence in some better way rather than escaping existence.
I was satisfied when I slain Ja'al
This could actually be really good if it wasn't for the text-to-speech VA which completely ruins it. There's a lot of Souls vibes going on here, it could work really well but not with the robo VA. Getting professional VA for free mods is obviously easier said than done- but no VA at all is better than text-to-speech.
The people who did the english voice acting for Vigilant plan to voice the entirety of Vicn's quest mod series once it is complete. No reason to find people and have them go through the trouble of recording lines until all of the material is ready to be voiced. Idk if you are aware, but Unslaad belongs to a series of quest mods telling one overarching story. They're all made by a Japanese author, Vicn, so you'd have to download the English patches for each. The mods are in order: - Vigilant - DaC0da (Coming soon) - Glenmoril (Not fully finished but most of it is playable) - Unslaad I cannot wait for full voice acting for them! Its gonna be so good. So if you do want to play the first mod in this series, Vigilant, it is 98% voiced (A couple new lines got added after the voice acting was initially added, but they're not gonna cover those few new lines voiced until the entire series is done. But there are so few lines that are missing voices in Vigilant, only a couple.)
I have no idea whats going on here but I know this is some deep deep lore
This is the ending to an entire series of quest mods, so there's a lot of context missing that lead up to the moment shown in this video. No I do not, at least I don't think I have any that would be considered an "overhaul". Maybe the closest thing would be Valhalla Combat?
Nice video, as always, love to see highlights of Vicns mods. Will appreciate answers on some of my questions. What is this Love Anatomancer is talking about? What is Kynes Spring/Fountain defiled by Laza? What is Surtsbrunnr/Svartibrunnr? Looks like it's amalgamation of some places vital for Black Owls plan. I guess Svartibrunnr stands for Black Fountain in Icelandic, and I saw Aellar saying on her Reddit that Surtsbrunnr is located in the Alduins stomach. Would appreciate answers, thanks for your videos
The "Love" the Anatomancer is referring to is the concept of Anti-Chim. Its a long story, but I think the reddit post titled "Everything Is I - a Treatise on Why Dagoth Ur Was Far More Dangerous Than People Think" does a good job explaining it, you should look it up. My attempt at a TLDR: Someone with Anti-Chim is called a Sharmat. The Sharmat gets the wrong conclusion from viewing the Wheel sideways to see the Tower "I". Instead of recognizing themselves as part of the Godhead's dream (like Vivec & Talos) they believe themselves to be the Godhead itself (like Dagoth Ur), they believe that they created the dream and that the dream is all an extension of them: "I ARE ALL WE". The Anatomancer as a Sharmat wants to subsume everything under itself, spreading its "love" like a virus that turns everything into itself. If not stopped, it would take over everything and replace the Godhead (because technically, everything that exists is part of the Godhead, and once everything is part of the Sharmat, then Sharmat = Godhead). And then it would inevitably wake up and destroy the Dream, and therefore the universe. In Vicn's lore Kyne's Fountain is a Tower, with Kyne/her influence as its Stone. Svartibrunnr is what said Fountain became after Laza defiled it with Lamae's blood thanks to the Black and Gray Owl's influence. The Stone for the Black Fountain (which is still a Tower, although now malfunctioning) is now in Vicn's words: "Hollowed Kyne", aka Kyne but now greatly wounded & diminished from the defiling of the Fountain. Svartibrunnr does mean Black Fountain. When Laza defiled the original Fountain, he also punched through time and space to the moment when we the Last Dragonborn defeat Alduin, (which is why Alduin's black blood is found all over the forest) thus creating a link to the Last Dragonborn and plunging the Fountain into a perpetual state of temporal and spacial instability (hence the constant presence of Mnemoli/Blue Star, who regulates "untime events" like Svartibrunnr's existence). Alduin ends time every kalpa, so linking the corrupted Tower to the moment of his death and covering it with his blood causes the "glitch" in space and time that makes Svartibrunnr what it is, outside of normal space and time. As such, the core of Svartibrunnr is both here and isn't, a malfunctining (but not inert) Tower - it's still a Tower, it still contains within it the treasured knowledge of what reality actually is (CHIM), it still holds up this severed reality, but it's just twisted and wrong. Its under Herma Mora's influence, he's trying to get the knowledge of Chim from within the Tower by using us as the Prisoner to get it. The Prisoner being someone with the potential to understand and attain the knowledge. The whole story of Glenmoril is Herma Mora & his Owls trying to get you to Svartibrunnr so you can be made to help Herma Mora achieve Chim to escape the kalpic cycle/this universe. The plan is that when you enter the Tower to attain the knowledge of the universe/Chim, Herma Mora will enter your body & mind to get that same knowledge for himself that he normally would never be able to do as a non-Prisoner, then toss you aside after its done. Thank you for the kind words, appreciate them!

@@scrub9986 Was this Kynes Spring in Hinnom? That would explain that Great Hole with Surtsbrunnr on the bottom
@@ДавидАтабеков-я6с Ya I definitely think so. Because why else would going deep enough into Hinnom take you into Svartibrunnr? That seems like the only explanation for how those two locations are related, and it explains the big hole.
@@scrub9986 thanks for answer once again
I chose to give my heart in the ending since I thought it was the correct answer (it's not).
how was that not the correct answer? lorkhan gets his heart back so he stops being a raging lunatic. it mirrors what happens at the end of c0da, and that's why jubal sent us the loveletter. and the ldb becomes indestructible (maybe you didn't notice the bonus effect?), a walking constant to contest numidium comes landfall.
This sequence in the cave is a final choice for your character based on everything they've learned. They can either: - Continue the cycle of kalpas with you present even if it dooms you to wander the world forever, just like Shor/Lorkhan (sacrificing your heart), therefore giving up on what could be a new Dream for you (because you can't let go of the old one. Which Herkel is initially upset at you for doing as shown in the video.) - Decide to let go (sacrifice your soul/souls) and break from the cycle and form a new Dream for yourself, Amaranth. (This world, the Aurbis, may still cycle through kalpas, but you've made an example, and given it hope with this action as Herkel says) The second option is a reference to when the Amaranth is reached in C0DA, when Aka finally forgives Lorkhan. When the Dragon soul and the Heart fuse and Lorkhan is healed, allowing Vivec and Jubal to attain/reach Amaranth and create the "Nu-Men". By not uniting your dragon soul with Lorkhan you do not allow Lorkhan to be healed, you just further copy Lorkhan by giving up your heart as he did. Your Amaranth begins at Dragon's Peak after shouting at your dragon self Ysmaalithax, with Uliss and Lizz. So it is the sacrificing your dragon soul option that mirrors what happens at C0DA, not the sacrificing of your heart. You are Aka in this formula, the dragon forgiving and healing Lorkhan. Which makes sense since we are the Dragonborn, uniquely connected to dragons, Akatosh, and Aka. If we imitate Lorkhan here, we don't have an Aka counterpart to fuse and heal with. Leaving things comparatively incomplete.
@@scrub9986 okay that makes sense. lorkhan gets a dragon in his hole, and the ldb gets the ultimate freedom. i never even considered my ldb worthy of an amaranth. the best outcome i could see was to keep the wheel turning for others to break free. but vicn is certainly a braver dreamer. the ldb could both break free and leave the wheel turning for now, and also set the stage for vivec and jubal. thanks for your patient reply!
@@kuanyu1420 That point about the LDB leaving this dream behind actually makes me confused as to why Vicn went with doing a Plato's allegory of the cave reference for where this decision is made. The Amaranth ending at Dragon's Peak completely contradicts one of the main lessons meant to be imparted by that cave allegory for aspiring philosophers. Not saying that's a bad thing, and that all this stuff should line up with the reference, just something I noticed. Well, I guess maybe not fully contradicting, as you might be bringing something of yourself, Uliss, & Lizz into this new Amaranth. But that's still only 2 other people besides yourself compared to everyone else still being left in the "cave". One of Plato's main points in the allegory is that since philosophers who "make it out of the cave" are only able to due so because of the education, shelter, food, resources, etc that they received from society & others, that they then owe it everyone still down in the cave to not remain outside of the cave, but to return & better help people "make out the shadows" and move them as far out of the cave as you can. You have to deny yourself the privilege of remaining outside the cave and living a solitary or almost solitary life of philosophical bliss in the truth, and instead go forward with the really tough challenging of helping the people in the cave get out. However, the Amaranth ending seems like you're taking what you've learned & experience in the "cave" and escaping outside of it into the new Amaranth permanently, never to return & help the others in the "cave" get out, only potentially bringing Uliss & Lizz with you.
@@scrub9986 kyne is mother nature that gives birth and the psychopomp that brings the dead to the underworld with her wind. as the underworld is a trap for souls, the material world is a trap for ideas. if that's how we see the cave, as a trap, then the ultimate heroism would be the harrowing, with the messiah descending to hell to release everyone. but the cave is also the womb, where all beings start to dream. the development of an embryo has to go through all major stages of evolution. egg, image, man, ... "the flowering scheme of the aurbis" is not for free. even if we can shorten the path to enlightenment, we still have to pay the toll. for most people, amaranth is not worth the effort. not everyone enjoys open world games, or plays with mods. among those who do, few ever try to create a mod. i think vicn did a good job showing us the way, but who can follow in his footsteps? i know i don't have the creativity or the capability. even many talented modders have given up, having lost hope in the community and bethesda. if the ldb never comes back, i say that's fair. i wouldn't want a maven or a nazeem to follow me into my world. but whatever happens after the amaranth ending is up to us now. maybe we send liss back, to make new friends, who knows~
Can't wait for when the entire trilogy is finished and the people behind VIGILANT's dub hopefully do the same for this and GLENMORIL
There definitely is a plan by those who did the original dub to start working on the rest of the OWLC0DA is done. (Owlc0da being a proposed new name for the series since it won't be a trilogy anymore with DaC0da dropping sometime soon)
I know there's a good lore reason for why he's called Khev, but it is impossible to read that name and not think "Kev from the pub".
Did you play Baldur's Gate III?
Yep, played it a bunch and loved it. Long time D&D player so its only natural.
❤❤❤ Yeeeah!!! It is sooo good to see someone that played this MASTERPIECE 👑 As much as I love Skyrim (with cca 1300+ mods), BG3 is on whole another level 😎💪🏻@@scrub9986
