The X-Dudes are such fun. Anole has a long monologue of inner turmoil, most of the caption boxes on the page, distressed about how he kind of likes beating up street criminals. Rockslide just thinks “damn I’m awesome.” What a pair of friends.

Remember the old tv commercials for that book? In the days before comic book stores were common in my part of the world, I was at my grandmother's acreage and there was a spot about the dangers of mutants, and a paperboy used a zappy finger to kill a plant while a guy narrated about the looming threat and who to call. Only at the end did they show the comics, and let you know you could get them wherever they were sold.
