'I'm Confident My Son Is Still Alive': The Case Of The Lost Boy
In March 2015, Fiona Lu showed up at her son Mike Zhao-Beckenridge's school to pick him up, only to find he was missing. Panicked, she called the police, convinced that her ex-husband John Beckenridge, whom Mike adored, had taken him.
By the time the authorities stepped in, John and Mike were already on the run. Days later, John’s car was discovered at the bottom of a cliff, but there was no sign of either of them.
Journalist Michael Wright, co-host of The Lost Boy podcast, explores two possibilities: either Mike and John died in March 2015, or they’re still alive today.

Very nice podcast, love it
This is amazing seies of podcasts!!!!!
I’m pretty sure we all know where she is.
People that think keli shd be out of prison simply have political agendas. Sure.. not proven beyond reasonable doubt in a court of law and standing up for legal "rights" is one thing. It doesnt mean tegan is alive.... anf xanthe and her ilk Know this. Keli Lane is clearly very damaged... keli knows whatbcreated her and what fear and self preservation and stress drove her thru life and ahe knows where the damage was done and when. You dont do what she has done... not to her degree over and over... without having some SERIOUS psychological.problems.
It isnt as tho she tells people everytime that she was pregnant... not after her first two.pregnancies and being pushed to anortions, and those were traumatic experineces.. so can you see her telling "andrew"? She had found her own solution... adoption. However, for her own reasons, she may wrll have abandoned tegan to her fate. I wish i could find shows about thr taxi driver who took her from Hospital. He had a bizarre story whether you believe it or not. 22:04 the police werent looking at the TOTALITY of evidence.. what the heck.picture DID Keli fit if not one that is wholly dusfinctional? And pethaps she kept her final child BECAUSE she was being looked at by police. She DIDNT havr a close knit family theyre all closed off and cold emotionally. There was no emotional.safety for keli, she couldnt confide in her parents about anything!
Just came across this incredible conversation with Diane Foyle about her son James Foyle. James was a beacon of light and truth in a world where the need to have eyes on the ground to report the ACTUAL facts only increases. His moral courage and unwavering commitment to speak truth to power will NEVER be forgotten. His memory will NEVER be forgotten. James is by your side Diane. Thank you for the work that you continue to do and honour James' work. Your moral courage is inspiring. All the best. 45:33
Appreciate the author / journalist speaking compassionately about the brothers, and the idea that they are not a danger to society. Horrifying what happened to them as children. I haven't seen the "Monsters" Netflix series, but I did watch the other series mentioned with Edie Falco, so good to know it was pretty accurate.
Very captivating and sad story. 😔
This will never be solved. The cops made a suspect lie about his testimony and the lead detective on the case back then is still trying to blame an innocent kid from back then. Threatened the poor kid and still thinks he has something to do with it. He definitely doesn't. They ignored tips of ppl that saw the van taking the kids. The cops botched this so bad, it'll never be solved
Let me know in comments if there's a a way I can get in contact with him please . Thankyou
I've tried the advertiser but they didn't even try
Does any one know how to get in touch with Allan Arther . Retired dective
Going out next week to purchase both books 📚
Was hoping to hear more about John Edwards’s military history. See if being a soldier was behind the reason for him killing his family
I was the same age as Jane and lived in Somerton in 1966. There is no way my parents would have allowed me to take two younger children to Glenelg on the bus at the age of nine - even in those more innocent days.

Samantha Seems To Be Growing More Unhinged With Age. I have Concerns about the Safety of Children with her being unmonitored
Many years ago I used to organise a playgroup & Kevin Rudd PM came to visit (he was our MP) one of his big security men stood by our playdough table watching the kids play. I made a comment that we had “the best protected playdough table in Australia “. Probably his easiest gig.
😮😮omg call the police 🚔 😢😢😢
Ty for covering it was a disgrace back then that AAT spent all that time in prison
Wth!! Cmon Australia she's sick and needs mental health assistance
Idk how she knows whose the father if she has a long term BF? Frfr plus where does it say Kelli's actions don't fit her MO so 🤷
What happened to the money he had stashed away.

I Acknowledge the brave Europeans who built Australia to be the Best country in the world No one cares about this paying respect to elder shit If you don't believe me move to N,T
Nobody cares about your land acknowledgements. It doesn't make you better than any of us.
Breaks my heart. Justice for all and rest her soul. My love goes with her family. My thoughts are that she had an interface installed externally, on her laptop, maybe all of her devices. I have zero doubt that her mental health was used against her with view of de validating her account of what was potentially purposeful and singular gaslighting. It reads strongly to me that someone was afraid of exposure directly stemming from what this woman knew. If your device has been illegally accessed ( inclusive of police without a valid search warrant) The porting will show up as anomalous activity in your usage history. You can gain access to your own data within the data retrieval process - this is via your network provider. Ideally if you have experienced anything like this, it will be executed in such a way that nobody around you will believe you. Your best bet is to to write three letters which detail clearly what you believe you know to be truth, with dates, times, places and names. Complete descriptions of people you believe to be involved to the best of your ability. Descriptions of voices if contact was incoming to your device. Three copies of your account left in the care of three separate people who validate your experience and cannot be bought for their cooperation. Ideally the account should be made a copy of and directed to investigative media in event of your disappearance or death, inclusive of (apparent) suicide. Access to your network data history should ideally be bequeathed in writing to your trusted persons in event of your death or disappearance. As it reads to me, this woman was vulnerable and up scared and trusted the wrong person, maybe more than one - with what she believed to be true. My belief is that it is best practice to direct your account to investigative media via entrusted persons because you cannot ascertain the modus operandi of all police involved. My reasons for believing that the justice system is due for a massive cleanup operation is based partly upon my personal lived experience of attempting to access my own information within FOI QPRIME and QLD health records. The barriers are designed to make it as expensive, complex, difficult and denigrating as it can possibly be. Un navigable for ordinary people, let alone anyone who cannot afford legal representation or an advocate in event of compromised mental health. Sandrine was a vulnerable person. Noted here publicly that incoming calls to the VPU unit of QPS are not recorded. Queensland Police Service and especially the designers of its directives need a huge clean out. The current system is rotten to the core. My advice is that a person is as safe as they keep themselves. Begin by protecting your information in event of your own disappearance. Exposure is the primary fear of the dark heart at the core of this states justice system. Just my thoughts.
Switched off second you thanked owners of land yawn
The one thing I don't understand about all the hypothesis is how did the wire from the Thomas farm end up at the Crewe farm. The profiler says the murderer had probably not planned disposing of the bodies. Did he bring the wire with him to do the murder because surely he did not drive the 15km to the thomas farm to get some wire after the event. Demler definitely very odd. He was phoned by the stock agent saying the Crewes had not answered the phone all weekend at 7am on the Monday. I would have dashed over straight away to see if everything was ok. It was not until later that the transport company phoned Demler and asked him to go check on the Crewes before Demler went over there.
Great work. Pleasant English language to listen too also. Thank you.
Just listened to this case on Spotify podcast and the Aus cops have 0 chance of getting a conviction because their so called evidence has so many holes in it a good defence lawyer would make shreds of them plus they seem to ignore all the witnessed statements given at the time and their only bit of evidence is a few blood drops on the cuff of the guys shirt that could have got there while he was checking his wife and as usual it's trial by media AKA a current affair
❤❤
So she lied to her parents, never rang them as promised & instead went to Kings Cross to hang out with street kids ; however the family & media, especially ABC, find it easier to blame the police who have their failings but in this case serve as a convenient scapegoat ….
One "saint" of a copper, blaming everything the department did on one guy. I'll bet this guy isn't squeaky clean.
I love how Roger pulled the Nazi card when being arrested.
I knew Stephen real well back in the mid 80s, I spent time with him in Perth and Thailand, Holly must have been in prison at the time as she wasnt around, Stephen or Steve /Wally as he was mainly called was a real nice guy, a quite spoken gentle giant type, sorry to hear of his loss, gone too soon.
Intresting title sknce it turns out there were no murders and you knew it when u posted this.
When you visit another country, you are subject to their laws, penalties & legal system.9 people are 100 % at fault here. They committed a crime ,while on Indonesian soil. Therefore they suffer Indonesian penalties. Too late to say they are reformed they must pay the price. Consider the lives of the young people those drugs would have destroyed.
Excellent content. Very interesting and Informative.
Does it strike anyone as strange to say the least, that a kid of about 17 committed such a brutal and perverse crime? I am not sure there is precedent.
It's unusual. If he did this at 17...then he's done it again and again...I would bet
@@tatianaisotov9190 well there is usually an escalation of violence to the point of this type of murder and then it goes on. This kid just doesn’t fit the bill. At least as far as we know
Very odd......The knife is very odd....Shawl found if part of Easey Street is very odd. I'll believe this is over when I hear the fat lady singing. Then again, I may be very odd in my thinking.
You said Bartlett's was in bedroom 3? The killer through the knife into the boot, then closed it,then got in drivers door, and closed that, that explains 2 doors slamming ok?
The girls were most likely murdered nearly 4 hours earlier.....Gladys next door and the 2 boys hearing doors slam don't fit the time frame. Probably why police were not interested.
Men and women die at the hands of male violence.
Nothing about Perry who police have known about since 2017. Waste of time podcast and book.
The police had to keep it quiet or the suspect would never have left Greece. Hardly the fault of this podcast that he didn’t go to Rome, giving them a chance to arrest him, until after this podcast was broadcast.
Tragic case, my heart goes out to Antheas family. Great work from Ben for his coverage
Slack policing imo ,, they caught him but his already lived a full life
