    Coming along great 👍 I haven’t welded since high school…24 years ago. I worked with a great young local welder who charged me $100 to weld on my hoop, 2 cross supports and 5 tabs for the under seat “protective panel”. My hoop was the sweep up.

    Looking great. Is the cb500t tank a direct swap to the 450?

    • @BrewersBikes
      @BrewersBikes Месяц назад

      not entirely. it is pretty close but the cb500 tank is about 3-4 inches longer. You just have to do some small modifications on the mount near the seat. pretty simple.

    No need to strip off the camboxes, just split the chain and undo the head bolts and the whole lot lifts off.

    Keep at it man, 1 thing at a time! I’ll be checking in on the progress. Btw, I’m running a lithium battery on my 72, no problems once I upgraded the reg/rectifier with a unit from Sparck Moto. It’s made to run with the lithium battery. The unit from CMC is not.

    Do you have a final parts list of what is necessary to do this swap? Cb360 swingarm with the brake linkage…any other parts?

    • @BrewersBikes
      @BrewersBikes 4 месяца назад

      i have yet to begin the reassembly however im hoping that since the rear drum brake swivels the stock 450 linkage will work fine. we"ll see soon. the only other thing that is needed are chain adjuster stoppers. or new chain adjusters with stoppers because the cb 360 swing arm is open. hope this helps

    • @justinfitch6067
      @justinfitch6067 4 месяца назад

      Yes, I actually just finished this swap on my 72 cb450. I bought the chain adjuster with stoppers from eBay and place the stoppers in the 450 adjusters. Worked great. I also purchased a 100 link chain, that fit perfectly with the longer swing arm.

    Thanks for sharing your EXCELLENT progress ..and as time(and projects) pass along you'll develop your own better methods and procedures for disassembling and assembling ..ie: I would have used some (very fine)steel wool or (very fine)emery paper along with some CLR and/or a light lubricant on the exposed areas of those corroded/rusted fork tubes and that brake lever pin .. smoothing the surfaces of them ( as best I can ) will make them easier to remove through those tight passages .. great video overall Mega Thumbs Up 🤩 😇❤

    This channel awesome, dude. I'm rebuilding a 1990 Yamaha xt350 right now. Different bikes but looks like it's overall similar, I just have more wires. Haha. This is the kind of content I watch now at night instead of Netflix. I'll definitely be following along!
