Trabalho honesto!
Si claro!
Great vid, thanks so much!
Gracias! Glad it could help you!
My OCD would make me relace them to my preferred way. Nice job nonetheless 👍
I agree. I had to redo the laces when I arrived home.
Do you know what the per pound cost of the chicken was? She weighed it with the bone and skin, she then removed the bone and skin and filleted it for you. Does she charge for the filleting? Did you keep the bone for soup stock? Have you figured your weekly of monthly grocery costs?
Only pigs eat that
Add the chicken feet too, 😅
Yeah, not a fan of chicken feet. But I used buy them for my dog. She loved them.
10yrs ago prices in the United States, especially in California
Exactly! I can't imagine what the cost in California now.
This videos encouraged other's to move to Mexico, prices go up affecting the locals.
Thank you for your comment. I respectfully disagree. My videos do not glamorize moving to Mexico like some RUclipsrs. I do not sell any service or product to expats. Most of my viewers already live in Mexico. I have a Mexican girlfriend. Live in a modest home in a fracc with no other foreigners. I shop and eat where locals do. I encourage other foreigners to integrate into Mexican society and not live around other expats. My videos are a way to show expats how to live like locals and not drive up the prices. If you have ideas for videos I should make; then please make suggestions. Regards, Troy
@@SilverFoxinMexico-lx5sm any places youre scared to go because youre a foreigner?
is your name Dave?
Hi. No, my name is not Dave.
looked like the mercado independencia
@waynevandermeer3050 Vasco de Quiroga is right next door to the Church of Immaculate Conception. I believe it's smaller than Mercado Independencia
Hi Troy, Still trying to connect. Can’t find your email address. I’m open to sharing my email address, phone number, etc. is it safe to share my contact info in the comments.
So you think with a permanent residency card I can’t drive into Mexico with my vehicle. ?
@waynevandermeer3050 it's illegal for a permanent resident to drive a foreign plated car. That's why many people elect to get the temporary Residency even though they qualify for permanent. The police can and will confiscate the car.
En la calle,,no games, no dura ni una hora,, te asaltan y te lo roban,,😂😂😂😂😂😂
Si Claro!😂
I drove by that location yesterday and the car was still there!
Troy, I’m technology challenged! Please direct me to your email address. Muchas Gracias! James
Great first video 👍
Thank you!
Troy, I’m 80 years old, I’m alone with no family or friends. recently arrived Queretaro. I’ve been totally overwhelmed and decided to search for a contemporary in hopes of connection and direction. How can we connect?
James, welcome to Mexico. I am currently in Morelia for 5 weeks or so. Then I will return to Queretaro. You can find my email in the about section of my channel. Send me an email and we can start communicating that way. Are you on Facebook? If so, I recommend finding the "Queretaro Expats" group. Lots of good people in that group. What neighborhood are you living in?

@@ВикторияДанилова-г2к they are very cute!!
623 is really good. I often see so many people say you need $3000 or $2000 a month but so many videos I am seeing does not make this seem true
The budget in my video does not include discretionary spending. For example, eating at restaurants or traveling. I didn't include these categories because each person has different tastes and spending habits. I know expats that spend at least $1k usd per month in alcohol and expensive restaurants. I occasionally have a beer and eat where the locals eat. I will make a video showing a few restaurants where I eat and the costs. Also, utilities and rent are very inexpensive compared to the US or Canada...as long as you stay away from the large expat areas.
@ honestly my biggest concerns would be costs for healthcare reasons. I do not travel too much and prefer cooking at home. I’ve been researching several countries to see how cost of living and lifestyle is. Very interesting.
Did you see my video about my medical experiences in Mexico? I plan to interview a health insurance professional in the new years. It seems like lots of expats are concerned about health costs in Mexico
Look forward to hearing about your healthcare experience. Mine was quite frustrating!
@@jamesaquino9439 what happened??
0:15 - “…. State of Mishican” ?? Shouldn’t that be Michoacán ? I don’t speak Spanish so I may be wrong.
You are correct. If you are talking about closed captioning or subtitles; that's done automatically by RUclips. If you're talking by about my pronunciation...yeah, sometimes it just comes out of my mouth wrong. 😂
Really reasonable. My uncle spent winters in Mexico and summers at his lakehouse in Ontario Canada. He loved it. After his wife passed he kept it up until his last year when he knew he was going to expire from heart failure. He returned to Ontario to pass with his kids and grand kids. I went to his funeral and learned how much he loved living in his place in Mexico and how nice all the people were. In Toronto every trip to the grocery store is $98. I spend that every couple of days. In general what I spend in retirement per month is about what you spend per year. Well done!
Thank you. I think that is a common sentiment for people who live in Mexico. The cost of living is a major reason why people like it here. The US is probably just as expensive as Canada. I have met quite a few Canadians in Queretaro and a couple in Morelia. The year round climate in better in this area than Puerta Vallarta.
One thing you don't show is health insurance. That's a biggie in Mexico.
I didn't show it; because I don't have health insurance, I self insure. I made a video about my medical bills in Mexico. For example, one visit to the hospital with x-rays and outpatient surgery cost me $32 usd. I eat a healthy diet with no additives or preservatives, unlike the US where almost all the has chemicals and poisons added.
@@SilverFoxinMexico-lx5sm Yes, but it's a critical factor because if you have an accident, a heart attack or blockage the bills are huge (not as bad as the US, but huge). I had a friend get Covid in SMA and it was $800 for a 4 day stay without insurance.
@@justjg Insurance is just a transfer of risk. Currently, I find the risk of no insurance in Mexico acceptable to me. That 4 day hospital in the states would cost on average $40,000. The average US deductible is $5,000. Plus the monthly insurance premium. The average premium for my age in the states is $900/month. So a person would be out of pocket a minimum of $5,900 I rarely get sick. Other people should probably have health insurance in Mexico. Maybe I will buy some in the future I was treated for Covid in Mexico with homeopathic medicine. (with Drugs you cannot get in the states.) My total cost was about $200.
I have lots of questions but I'll start with, why Morelia?
That's a great question! I will make a video on why I love Morelia. The short answer is I was living in Queretaro and met a Mexican woman from Morelia. We started dating so I moved to Morelia to be with her.
That's not bad at all to live in such an amazing place. Make more videos! I want to see this place. Thanks man!
I will try to do a walk and talk video in Morelia Centro or one of the main avenues this week
Ok. Im convinced to bring with me a pair of leather shoes so I can have them polished
The man did a great job. Next time I want to find a shoe shiner who uses the lighter method.

30 Mexican pesos is $1.48 at today's exchange rate. I was the only customer that tipped him.
@@SilverFoxinMexico-lx5smwow I’m surprised they still charge 30 pesos, is the same price as 10 years ago
@@35rebeldes I was actually surprised how low the cost. The man was wearing a shirt from the Morelia Municipality; so maybe the city regulates what they can charge.
What colonia is that ?
It is colonia Ventura Puente. We go to a pet shop in that area.

Congrats! Guess You will be able to convert your Temporary Residency into Permanent in 2025, if You did the Process in 21.
Thanks! Yes, I can convert in January 2026. Hooray!
Hi Silver Fox; Curious as a Permanent Resident of Mexico is there an INM Office (Immigration) at the Airport, that you have to check in with before departing or do the Airlines take care of that for you? Same with arriving from an International flight is there a Immigration/Customs line for citizens/residents? Thanks Also might be using Daniel's service as I am arriving later in January, thanks for his info.
QRO is a small airport. The last time I flew there; they had just 2 immigration lines. It didn't matter which one you got in. I handed the officer my temporary residence card and my passport. She reviewed them and handed them back. Customs is one single line. You collect your bags. Then the military tells you to press a button which gives you a green or red light. If you get a red light, they search your luggage. It's actually fairly simple
We are the greatest country in the world and yet many Americans can't afford in Health Insurance. Very sad.
It is sad. Corporate profits are more important than the American people.
why do you think it is the greatest country, when just getting ill bankrupts most Americans?
I was there in July. I became ill and went to the hospital. The physician visit and medication cost me $85 dollars. The medication I was given is the same I would have been given in the US I know this because I work in health care
Were you in Puebla? How much would the medicine cost in the US?
I had a TURP prostate operacion done on me in 2021 and it all cost me $2,000 dollars with a 1 night stay, I feel like a porn star now if you know what I mean!!
I have lived and worked in mexico for 20 years and as a matter of fact i suffered a heart attack 8 years ago, paid in total 250 us dollars for a week in the hospital, now after being under the care of the best cardiologist in my state for a bi-annual visit which costs 25 dollars. i will go to puebla on monday for Nuclear Medicine Heart Pictures which in the end, hotel rooms, tolls and this image of my heart for prevenentive reasons will cost me $1000 us dollars. there is no way i could pay these low prices in my home of New York City.
Wow! Thanks for sharing. I would imagine your co-pay or deductible would be way more than $1,000.
But socialized medicine is bad. Keep letting US pharma and insurance companies feed that BS
Yeah, most medical issues in the US are solved with pills. I had migraines for 20 years and never had a US doctor order a test to find out why. Just a prescription.
Surprised that there was no concern about rabies infection from the dog bite.
The owner of the dog was a retired American. So I could confirm the dog had its Rabie shots. The doctor did ask if the dog had all of its shots.
@@SilverFoxinMexico-lx5sm Phew! 🙂
I've had very good experiences with medical professionals in Mexico. Soriana & Walmart's, also have pharmacies, but my friend works at Farmarcias Guadalajara, where I buy medication.
Interesting, I have not seen pharmacies in Walmart or Soriana, where I am. Farmacia Guadalajara is everywhere though.
Curious if the Sam's Clubs in Mexico have Pharmacies like here in the States. Being a Sam's Club Plus Member, don't pay for Tier 1 (blood pressure meds, antibiotics etc..) Have gone to the hospital in Mexico a couple of times.....Great Medical Service and prices. But even when I move down permanently don't think I will give up my US coverage
@@tomm9540 Good question. I don't have a Sam's Club membership; so I don't know if they have pharmacies. I know that their is a Sam's Club in Queretaro. The Walmart's that I have been in do not have pharmacies. Honestly, there are pharmacies everywhere in major Mexico cities. Lots of competition, so my guess is the big box chains do not offer this service
What area of Mexico are you in?
I am currently in Morelia, but I am moving back to Queretaro in January.
They have doctors at the pharmacies that charge you 70 pesos, little less than 4 dollars. Went to the ER and didn't pay a cent. My cousin had a hysterectomy she didn't pay a cent.
What area of Mexico are you in? In Queretaro, I was charged 50 mxn at a pharmacy doctor.
Just went Farmacia Similares to buy some medicine. Monday's are 25% off!!!!!!
American healthcare is a complete train wreck... the real issue is all the gate keepers that stand between you and the medicine you already know you need. We could fix 90% of the injustice just allowing pharmacists to prescribe a greater depth of medications over the counter. Especially chronic needs such as statins, anti-virals, etc. Basically anything that once diagnosed is needed for the rest of your life.
It is a wreck. I am so glad I left that system. It's ridiculous that a person needs to see a doctor every month to obtain a piece of paper that permits them to buy a necessary drug, a total scam.
@@SilverFoxinMexico-lx5sm I actually have an appt today to see my doctor so that I can continue to receive my statins which we all know are prescribed for life.
@@darylfortney8081 I'm sorry that you still need to see the doctor for that kind of drug. Are you exploring a move to Mexico?

Watching from Querétaro
That's awesome! Thanks! I'm coming back to Queretaro next month.
Generally, what are the estimated fees the facilitators charge?
Hi, fees will vary by your individual circumstance and location in Mexico. I have seen fees range from 4,000MXN to 12,000 MXN. Complicated cases involving an immigration lawyer will be more.
What's a retirement letter? I've been retired eight years and didn't get a letter from my employer. Who does that? Anyway, what qualifies as a "retirement letter"?
Hi, I went obtained my temporary residency visa thru the Detroit Consulate. I just looked at their website. They do not require a retirement letter. Here is a link to their website: consulmex.sre.gob.mx/detroit/index.php/visas-and-other-information-for-foreigners/visas-en-ingles. Consulates may have different requirements. For example, Seattle has a reputation for asking for additional requirements. Find the consulate that meets your needs. Detroit and Las Vegas are pretty easy. I wouldn't use a consulate that is asking for things you can't get or don't have.
@@SilverFoxinMexico-lx5sm When I did my Mexican Permanent Residency Process in the US, they did not require a Retirement Letter, however I did have a copy of my Retirement ID.
@@tomm9540 To my knowledge, Detroit does not require the letter. They look at the bank statements primarily.
I'm happy you found your place in México! 🎉🎉🎉
