Early 60's Fuzz Tone Looper Jam (No Talking) : Fuzz Face + Fender Champion 40 w/ MojoTone BV30V

I've been rewiring my pedalboard and came up with some great old school, pre-Hendrix, early 60's style fuzz tones. I was having a blast jamming so I looped the rhythm that I played on the neck pickup and played a little accompaniment with the bridge pickup.. Thanks for watching!

    Bright sounding speaker. Have you tried it with the Tweed voicing? Seems it would match better.

    • @MicroMysticMusic
      @MicroMysticMusic 5 дней назад

      I agree, very bright. And that's a great question! I have used it with the Tweeds and it does match much better with those voicings. I have also figured out how to EQ the Blackface voicings to cut without sounding so bright., which works well when playing with my friends. Either way, it is definitely a bright speaker. Great question. The Champion 40 can be used as a bedroom amp, but it can get pretty loud even at lower settings, so if I was going strictly bedroom, I'd go with the Champion 20. Hope this helps! Rock on!

      Great question! I used to have the 40 watt Mustang with the 12'" speaker and the only issue I can think of would be to make sure to pick a replacement speaker that doesn't have too large of a magnet, otherwise it might not fit in the closed back cabinet. Beyond that, make sure the impedance and wattage are correct and the upgrade should be a success! Hope this helps. Rock on!

      @MicroMysticMusic 2 месяца назад

      Thank you for the kind words! Regarding the hiss... mine definitely has it, as do my Champion 40s, I think it is just part of the design. That said, it shouldn't be loud enough to mess with the sound of the amp. If it is that loud, something might be wrong. Hope this helps. Rock on!

    Do you put all your focus in that one pedal? Just curious because I am an outrageous beginner. That is awesome playing 🤓🤘

    • @MicroMysticMusic
      @MicroMysticMusic 2 месяца назад

      Thank you for the kind words. I love Fuzz Face pedals and I do spend a lot of time playing around with them, but I also play around with other pedals. For instance, I also love to use TS9 style pedals, Wah pedals, Uni-vibes/Phasers, and delays. My advice to you as a beginner is to find a solid amp setting, and then start working with one pedal at a time until you've mastered that pedal. Then add another pedal and get used to using it by itself as well as in conjunction with the first pedal you've gotten to know. After awhile, you'll have a nice base tone and a few options with your single pedals and their configurations, and then you can really get into playing with dynamics and feeling. At this point you'll go from tone hunter to musician... and that's where the real fun is. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have anymore questions. Rock on!

    • @MicroMysticMusic
      @MicroMysticMusic 2 месяца назад

      I wouldn't add a light, just set your amp's EQ so that it is very clear when the pedal is on. I usually go with Treble a little higher than Bass and when I click on the Crybaby, the tone is noticeably brighter in the toe-down position. Give it a try and let me know what you think. Hope this helps.

    Thanks for doing this. I’ve been trying to figure out whether to get the germanium fuzz face or the Jimi silicon fuzz face to go with an Origin 20c. I want it to clean up well with the guitar volume, but not get too shrill/raspy when I turn the guitar up all the way. I’m leaning towards the germanium, but I just hope the cleans don’t sound too dark/muddy.

I've never tried it on a Champion 50, but I feel that if you choose the same "voicing" that the settings I gave you will work just fine. The only difference I can think of would be due to the difference in speakers, so you might have to adjust the BASS and TREBLE a little bit, but it should sound really close if you use the same settings. I hope this helps. Keep me posted on your progress, my friend! Rock on!
