Very nice. But not written by Joan Baez or Bobby Bare. It was supposedly written by Hedy West. A couple of versions of hers are here on RUclips. The version that got the most air play was probably by Peter, Paul and Mary. There are a lot of versions out there. Great song.

I love this song, what is the name of it please ?

When I was a little boy, 5 or 6 years old my father sang this and played his guitar. He knew a few folk songs from his youth i the 1920s and 30s. He loved sining it and loved his family and I could feel this while listening to him. A friend sang this, playing a guitar, at his funeral in the early 1990s. I can't hear the tune without thinking of him. 30 years after he passed I was in Berkeley, CA one day walking down Oxford Street across from the UC Campus between Center St and Allston Way, lost in my thoughts, when I suddenly see the words nicely painted on the wall of an alley. 'You are my sunshine, my only sunshine' and I was suddenly transported hundreds of miles and decades away and could hear his voice singing. I was flooded with feelings, joyful memories and grief of a long ago loss, crying on the sidewalk. And now I unexpectedly find you here, singing his song, playing guitar and I again swept away into the past, a little boy listening to his father. Thank You for your gift, Thank You for sharing your voices, your harmony, your hearts. Erica Peterson
