Marowak ex Deck Profile (ft. Promo Mankey & Primeape) | Pokemon TCG Pocket

Marowak ex is a card that a lot of players turned to as an early deck, and I think the promo Mankey card from the Lapras ex event now allows Primeape to be the best secondary evolution line for the deck. Watch live at www.twitch.tv/arghmytoast
Genetic Apex Pack Guide | Pokemon TCG Pocket

The first booster set in Pokemon TCG Pocket is Genetic Apex, which has three different pack arts featuring Pikachu, Charizard, and Mewtwo. While there are some cards you can pull in all 3 versions, most cards are exclusive to one of the three packs, so I wanted to make a quick video to highlight some of the best cards from each pack, as well as a few example builds that topped Ursiiday’s recent...

CHECK PINNED COMMENT BELOW FOR UPDATE The first drop event in the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket is a few days underway, and there are some mechanics in the event that aren’t very clearly explained in the game, so I wanted to make a quick video going over how to best spend your time and resources in the event. Used this core to clear the whole event. It is incredibly consistent. I subbed out the potions for 2x Giovanni to have more consistent KOs against the kangaskhan in the elite node's list.
This is such a fun list and I love that it doesn't rely on a stage 2 or ex.
I like that you said the Mankey/primeape isn’t as great as advertised. It’s awesome if you can attack first with mankey and have primeape in hand. But primeape gets one shot by starmie ex. Sandslash is way more consistent. And it can 2 shot a lot of the exs when primeape without damage cannot
Yeah I think Mankey/Primeape is a bit of a glass cannon strategy. When it works, it's amazing. But it's pretty risky.
Sandslash and Dugtrio are also really good with Marowak Ex. Dugtrio having a 50% chance of being protected when using dig has saved me a number of times when I need energy. Although often my opponent has been using Sabrina when that happens, but that also means they don't have that Sabrina for later. I've won matches with Dugtrio just because my opponent didn't have a Sabrina in their hand and my Dugtrio got a heads 4 times in a row, which is a 1/16 chance. Sandslash is nearly as good as primeape, but has more life and doesn't need to be damaged to deal decent damage. With a Giovani I can kill a lot of things since 80 hp is very common.
Agreed, both Dugtrio and Sandslash can be other nice options, especially for those who don't have promo Mankey. Fighting has a lot of different viable partners for Marowak ex right now which is cool. Really lets you customize your deck in a lot of different ways.
i like monkeys
This was really informative. Thank you so much!Primeape seemed like a really effective deterrent in the first round you showed. I also realize now how much I need a x speed
Love to see the two different playstyles with the deck!
Regarding the "Win this battle using a deck where all the Pokemon cards are of ◆, ◆◆, and/or ◆◆◆ rarity" task: you actually CANNOT use promo Mankey for this task. Turns out because it is a promo card, it doesn't actually have any rarity in the bottom left corner of the card, which technically means it does not fall under the criteria required. So just make sure to double-check the rarity in the bottom left corner of all your Pokemon before attempting that task. Sorry for any confusion that may have caused! Edit from future me: The event hourglasses do carry over to future drop events, so that theory I talked about regarding them is confirmed! You can save any event hourglasses you don't want to use for future drop events.
I love the variety in the Charizard packs. Builds toward several decks at once with a couple great core decks in Blaine and Charizard ex
Definitely a fun pack! It's been my recent focus as of late
This answered all my questions!
Glad to hear :)
This guy really knows his stuff!
Big fan of the Mewtwo pack!
Same, I think it's my favorite of the three personally.
I still need 2 mankey from this event... I have too many Butterfree.
I believe 🙏. I still haven't pulled any pikachu myself, but I've got a playset of everything else.
Ohhhh never thought about it like that - yeah, I'm probably going to save my event hourglasses for future events then
