Nav Nalanda Mahavihara is recognized as a premier institution in the field of Buddhist studies and has earned a reputation for excellence in research, teaching, and scholarship. It attracts scholars and students from all over India and the world and continues to contribute significantly to the preservation and promotion of Buddhist knowledge and culture.
Nava Nalanda Mahavihara (Deemed to be University), Under Ministry of Culture, Government of India
It was founded in 1951 by the government of India to revive the ancient Nalanda University, which was one of the world's oldest and most prestigious centers of learning from the 5th to 12th centuries CE.
Nav Nalanda Mahavihara offers courses in various fields related to Buddhism and Pali studies. These include MA and PhD programs in Buddhist studies, Pali language and literature, philosophy, and history. The institution also offers short-term courses and workshops on Buddhist philosophy, meditation, and other related topics.

11th International Dhamma Peace Yatra
NNM organised the 11th International Dhamma Peace Yatra in which about 1500 devotees (lay disciples and recluses) having faith in Buddhism from Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, America, Japan, China and Laos participated. ( Dated 13/12/2024).
