At that point you’re basically taking a video 🤣
It's true... a 45 megapixel video with studio flash as a light source :)
The poor thing don't make it play that shitty excuse for music
LIFEPAK 15 vibes.
Where did you get the heat sink?
It's half a heatsink for a RPi 4, just a basic one off alie*****s.
The iPod Classic 1st Gen Is So Usual Than I Thought To Use One of the iPods That I Should have to Love, But The 1st iPod Looks So Nostalgia and Pearl.
as a kid that tactile bump on the wheel was my favorite thing whenever i stole my older siblings ipod lmao
ruined the thing with a taylor swift song smh
Sorry not sorrry
. 2024 still cant get artist names correctly 😂
Hold on just one second, which artist is named wrongly?
@@VEEBProjects. Nick cave & the bad... . Nick cave AND the bad... that is why the same artist is filed 2 times instead of 1 , just saying decide on & or AND and you will have all their albums under 1 artist name 🤓
hi , i want a camera that has a field view of 18 *13 cm . It should be the best and available camera where it would work in a dark room. The working condition is indoor . Can you suggest me the best Raspberry pi 3 camera for this purpose ?
I'n not familiar with that field of view description, do you know a lens focal length equivalent for the camera you're describing?
@@VEEBProjects hi , i am asking for the pi camera v3 . I need to know it . Consider a 18 *13 cm rectangle.at the centre , you have the pi camera v3 . I am asking , will the frame of the camera cover the entire 18*13 cm ? If its possible i could show a drawing if u send your mail id
It depends how far away the 18x13 rectangle is. If you measure how far away the rectangle is from the lens, you can use an online calculator (dofsimulator.net/en/ is brilliant) to get the focal length of the lens. Then you can choose a model based on that.
@@VEEBProjects thankYou for the reply. I need a pi camera v3 that can be also used in dark (indoors ) so that it could detect finger movement . Which is the best pi camera v3 for tgis application. This camera should also work in daylight
I just love your brilliant projects
I'm just a moron but isn't the point of an infrared sensor so that you don't need a light source even if the light source is infrared?
That would require there being an ambient source of infrared that the sensor was capable of picking up. In the photo video using the same camera, we used the IR component of sunlight. True darkness would just be black on an IR sensor.
@@VEEBProjects Hmm not sure that really answers my question but I appreciate the response. I did some research though.... this NoIR camera is sensitive to near-IR 880 nm. Thermal imaging is sensitive to 3000-14000 nm - basically long wavelength IR. The relationship for determining light emitted by temperature of body is Wien's Law. Humans emit light at the ~10000 nm wavelength based on body temperature of 310K. This explains why a camera sensitive to 8000-14000 nm is required to view light emitted from warm bodied organisms.
@@emmettkeyser1110 You're right, thermal cameras pick up different wavelengths. But, you always need signal source for a sensor to measure. You can amplify small signals, but you can't amplify zero. In the case of the camera we made, the light wavelength is invisible to the human eye but visible to the sensor.
Why cant I find the top and bottom 3d case file for the original?
Good point, the original used acrylic cut outs for the front and back. I'll add them as soon as I get a chance. The slightly larger case that was added is *much* better though.
But many people don’t even know about it, I even remember being in a store and asking if they had an iPod (it was on the website), they even heard about it for the first time 😢
Magnifique!
Thank you!
👍🏿🫡 thank you
V nice!
Anyone here because of the iPod Shuffle 1st gen ad?
Work sucks! this rocks!
“That was 22 years ago..” oof
I'm pretty sure my maths must be wrong, I mean it *feels* like two minutes ago
Awesome! I love your channel, can’t wait for more
You guys have the most stylish vids
Also... is that... cartoon Eben?
I can neither confirm nor deny this fact
How u get so early!?! 👋
The kind people at Raspberry Pi were nice enough to let us have an early peep
Great video Veeb! Peeper Pam is fantastic!

@@VEEBProjects I had cake today.
NO NOT THE SONG OF SHAME
the 2024 version has better music
I have one more question, how are you managing to mount that massive URTH filter in front of and onto the NOIR sensor??
That bit was easy due to the ribbed metal case. we used a quick and dirty 3d print, but any solution that blocks out light leaks will do it.
@@VEEBProjects I can work with that info, thanks
So where do we get this long pass ~720nm filter (the URTH filter) and how do we add it to the camera module? Do you have a DIY walkthrough of what you guys did?
We got ours from URTH directly. The github repository has some of the extra details: github.com/veebch/ir-see
Such a beatuifully edited and composed video. Clear and well thought through! Thanks for the effort!!!
And that's a very kind comment, thank you
Love, love, love. Will blog, blog, blog.
It was the disco ball wasn't it? This makes the sweary hour with the glue gun totally worth it... now please watch this on a loop: ruclips.net/video/dKSB2O2Shts/видео.html
Look at that thing of beauty I love the iPod
That’s cool!
Guaranteed never to wake up anyone who uses it
11 year olds wailing right now.
there is visible light in those photos. This filter was not strong enough and only decreased some of the throughput of the visible light
There is deliberately some visible light due to the choice of filter (720nm), but the colour is 'false colour' introduced in the channel swap in post processing.
@@VEEBProjects My apologies, I misunderstood. I now see how the edge parts of the visible light plot were let through according to the the 720nm URTH filter's spectral transmission plot against the sensors spectral sensitivity plot. Good job with this.
How much money should a person expect to pay for one in 2024? I know they sold for $399 new in 2001.
ChatGPT 40 says $200-500. With original packaging $1000+ (insert disclaimer about AI :))
Where can I get that spinner sound in high quality? Thx for answer :)
I'd download the video and strip the audio from it, there are lots of downloaders dotted about
@@VEEBProjects Thx. I thought the same but I'm perfectionist and I'd like to have it in best quality possible 😁
@@lukasz_tonia Approve :) The recording was done using a decent microphone and recorder. If you find that the quality is not great, we'll have a look for the original wav file and upload it somewhere.
Can you please provide links to buy all required Items Please
All the items are listed on the github repository, that will be plenty to find out where to get them locally
I have I bootleg classic on the way rn, I think it’s gonna be so ballers when it comes
Mega! I need one of these in my life, I’ve messaged you!
hope you like your clock!
@@VEEBProjects I heart it!
Hi, Im from colombia, thinking about to make this and seeing my P.O when ....OH! another pocket operator! cool... Anyway, thanks.
fabulous
Too kind!
I need this IPod in my life
Very cool! I was just wondering, how did you attach the IR filter to the camera module? Did you have any custom 3D printed adapter?
Thanks! The filter screwed onto the hood and we printed an adaptor that held onto the filter. That was then screwed into the gaps in the metal case. The fit was secure enough for a few hours of taking photos...
Awesome project ! 😍 Is there a minimum ISO value ? I plan to use it with low sensitivity paper, some Harman direct positive which is about 3 ISO only ! Also, what is the maximum speed it can display ? Is long exposure possible ?
We've not tested the sensor at those values, but the software is easy to tweak to lower iso (and therefore long exposure)
Incredible 🎉
poor thing got revived just to play Taylor swift
Hello, nice work, but how to use with a Waveshare 2.7inch e-Paper HAT V2?
It's pretty easy, if you check the github you'll see how in the 'issues'
2:14 what is the lead called from the pi to the led strip.
The connector type? Not sure. The 3 leads are VCC, GND and Data. The strip came with the connector as far as I remember
hey, how can i build this using the ssd1306 display?
That'll take quite a lot of adjustment to the code, because of the different resolution and single colour. Definitely doable though!
