At my previous job I was put down and work was piled on (as well as to a few others) by the boss and some of our coworkers. Help was almost non existent. If we needed help it was because we “must have been talking or slacking off.” It was rough. I stayed 9 years. I finally left to help my parents for a while. Now the job I have pays less but the people are sooo much more positive. If someone is seen struggling some coworkers will step up (with lifting items for example) and help each other and/or encourage each other. It’s such a different attitude and atmosphere. “You got this” is heard multiple times in our offices.

I purchased a cute dinosaur crossing sign (used) for a baby’s room at a thrift store. (We both work at the same non profit that I bought the item at.) She was so thankful! It was refreshing to see someone so young be so thankful. Her boyfriend cleaned it up and she showed me a video of the room with it hanging next to a poem that another coworker wrote and framed. The old me thought maybe she did it to make me feel that she appreciated it but I also truly think she was just grateful. Again so refreshing to see that. Love watching you and reflecting on my own childhood and current life. Tina

Omg! You speak my language, girl! Let’s take social media for instance … people down on their luck and asking for assistance. I see and feel their plight having been in an unfortunate circumstance. Must there always be judgement on situations and people we don’t know? Granted, it’s hard to identify with a situation you’ve never been in but let’s not use that as a reason to demean or judge another.
