Walking in the woods with a Basset Hound

If you take your Basset Hound to the woods for a walk it's more like a stand than a walk. Our little pup has to smell everything with every step he takes. Not much exercise for the human, though.

Why There's No ATV/UTV Guides in the Black Hills

How the US Forest Service prevents anyone from leading off road groups in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Clunky red tape and blood sucking lawyers effectively stop anyone from providing trail guide services. Helpful locals are even discouraged from marking on or providing useful maps. Watch this if you want to see how screwed up things are. BTW .... it's your land, not the Forest Service's la...

THANK YOU SIR!
We are planning a trip in May 25 can you send us some maps Scott Shy 758 Hwy CC PERRYVILLE, MO. 63774
Thanks for the tips. I'll review this video before I head out that way next year.
I’ve now lived here for over 2 years and have found locals to be the most useless people when it comes to any info. Maybe they don’t wanna tell people ? Maybe they are just dumb. But it’s insane how difficult it is to get simple info on anything but the 5-6 tourist spots.
Who has a nice kit to move my signals back like yours?
you should do an Updated video
Thank you for all of your videos. My wife and I are coming out there again at the end of June and we're renting an atv out of Nemo. Your videos are very helpful and informative. Thanks again.
Planning a trip in June to the black hills to explore the back country with 4x4 truck any recommendations???
great info
Mr. Lionsprings: I sincerely hope you can get back into the video sharing as you have done a great service to the riding community. We happened upon Adventure Rentals in Hill City and he demonstrated the advantages of the Avenza Map system. My wife and I now enjoy riding the Black Hills and haven't been lost yet!👍
Great video. Just a little bit of misinformation. The area is not BLM land. It is USFS Buffalo Gap National Grasslands. And the dark Green on the map is not the reservation. It is Badlands National Park. The portion to the South of Scenic is the Stronghold Unit. It falls within the reservation.
Thank you for the overview. Very informative
Great and hilarious video! Thanks a bunch!
Too much TALK
I enjoy your videos . We will be coming out again in Aug with a group of 16 people. We stay in Lead and I was wondering how I find the trail heads for UTVs. We did allot of road riding and would like to get onto the trails. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
cool
Subbed and shared. Gonna do some 4x4 and tent camping this spring in the Black Hills.
Nice video, very informative, you should have used a longer pointer stick to show more precisely where you were pointing to.
Is may a good time to come out to the black hills to ride utv
I made this journey in a rental minivan several years ago. I was navigating with a geocaching app towards a cache called "Reflector City'. Very cool place but heed the warnings to take a 4x4 as this is extremely remote on the Pine Ridge reservation. AAA won't save you here
Thanks so much for this video…we are hoping to come to the Black Hills this summer (2023)!! We are hoping to find a place to boon-dock as well as we prefer that over campgrounds! Thanks again!
Great video! I have to put in my two cents worth here. I went to Sturgis for the first and last time in 2017. That year I bought my one and only Harley, an Ulta-classic, and decided to check Sturgis off my Bucket List. I'm east river (Sioux Falls) and rode locally on a Goldwing, and hadn't been to the hills in several years. Unbeknownst to me I had developed a health condition that causes me to see double in low oxygen and/or high elevation situations. I was nearly to the top of Iron Mountain Road when my eye sight suddenly became double vision. Try riding down that road seeing double the whole way. I managed to limp slowly down off the mountain with help from friends riding with me. But my advice would be, make sure you're healthy enough to handle the riding conditions, and the elevation. That experience ruined my trip to Sturgis because I had to stay to the low elevations after that day while everyone else did all the towns, and attractions. When I got back to Sioux Falls, (I rode mine) I was so shaken I sold the bike and quit riding.
hope the first 2 weeks of June are good too
be there in June, from BC Canada
Great Information Thank You for Posting This
Nice video, enjoy going up into the hills lately.
If you ask me, anytime, is the best time to be in the Black Hills. I miss home SO much!
Check out Redfern next!
What is the speed going up this road?
Very nice job! I echo other comments....you should market the bracket because I'd buy one from you!
I'm 24, SD native. first bike and first time going to sturgis so I wanted to take a look. came for the tips, stayed for the rantings of another local lol
At 12:12, Too bad you already burned your maps.
Nice Video, can u tell how waterproof the bags are?
Hi we have several families coming out in August. To ride and site see on sxs. Do you have a Facebook page?
I'm from downtown Boston, but I love reading about the frontier, the Oregon Trail and Native American/Indian history around the Black Hills area. I wanted to visit the Black Hills for camping and hiking but I am concerned because it just looks like there's giant RV's and ATV's pretty much everywhere. Is that true? If not, what are the areas where you will encounter less RV's and ATV's?
Good video, but you need a long pointer stick. One can't tell where you're pointing to with your finger when it's 3 feet or more from the area you're referring to. "Right about there" doesn't help those of us who want to see exactly (or even vaguely at times) where you're pointing.
Thanks for the video I really appreciate that you really give a lot of information . One question for you is at the ATV trail heads is there generally plenty of parking for someone towing a trailer? Would you suggest a trail head particularly near Hill city?
I live in custer and want to join you guys sometime in your trail travels
Hi, wondering if u could still bring pillion with these bags? Two up riding.
What maps did you use for this video and where do you buy them? I enjoy your videos and thank you for the effort.
I really enjoy all your videos. So much so, that we’re coming up there in late May for dual sport riding. Thanks!
I have ridden for fifty-four years and visited the Black Hills a half dozen times as I am from Virginia Beach, VA and ride to the Hills. My last trip was Bike Week 2021 and I stayed in Custer. This is an excellent video for us all, but especially for new comers to the Black Hills. I have watched the slow evolving Crazy Horse Monument over twenty years. A must see in my mind. Be safe and maybe I will see you in the Hills, but no longer during Bike Week. The Black Hills don't need any other reason to visit the area.
Where are the best single track dirt bike only trails?
What are the numbers of the trails that were reopened?
Any advice for disperse camping near Nemo?
What do u think about Nemo guest ranch ?
Looks to me like your driving west not east
will a raptor fit?
