Hello there! I am Mike, the owner and creator of Pascack Valley Line Railfan. Located around Northern NJ, I take pictures and videos of different rail and transit operations including Amtrak, NJ Transit, MTA Metro North, LIRR, NYCT, CSX & NS. I try to post whenever I get the chance but I try for enjoyable and quality content. If it satisfies you, then my job is complete!
Pittsburgh T (Silver) at Steel Plaza
After a late night Pirates game we ventured onto the T since the city is in the free zone. We got off to look at the Brutalist style of architecture at Steel Plaza. This was at 11:30 at night and it was creepy just being the only people in the station with classical music playing over the speakers. Enjoy!

R142s and a R62 at West Farms

While waiting for some Redbirds to take flight, a Not In Service R62 set to Wakefield came up on the express track while R142s both left and entered the station. The 5 train normally goes to Dyre Avenue but was cut to E180th street that weekend for repairs. Enjoy!

Title say it all. 14th Street, Union Square located on the IRT Lexington Av lines (4, 5, 6) has a gap filler on the Express track towards lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. When I was down in tHe DC area, I had to make sure to stop at the brand new Potomac Yard station! It was extremely clean even with that new construction smell to it. Stayed for a bit and saw some trains and then left. It’s also a good spot to see the RF&P!

NJ Transit FRA inspection train passes Montvale

With a wicked horn on 4303, I got the chance to stay up really late to watch this train zoom past Montvale at 12 in the morning. This train was the FRA inspection train and was planned to head back to Hoboken for the night before the last PVL train heads north for the night. It was pretty cool to see. NJT 4100 was behind the inspection car

This is only a one-way trip from Lindenwold Transportation Center to 15/16th and Locust on the PATCO Speedline. We also get the treat sitting at the front window. On March 2nd, 2022, I visited Haworth NJ with a few friends to catch NS 8100 on train I158. Q403 passed about 20 minutes later. I went back again on March 5th to see one of the CSX Dash 8s left in YN2 paint.

What a sight to be seen the FRA Car on the PVL. I've seen her a few times tacked on The Most Talked About Train in America passing through Colorado on the Moffat Road. Anyone know the best place to park to ride this train?
Depends where you want to get it. The furthest out you can go in NJ is Lindenwold and the furthest in Philly is 15-16th and Locust. All stations west of Ferry Ave (Camden) have good parking lots. The biggest I believe is Woodcrest, second being Lindenwold, and third being Ashland. Though the ticketing system is like zones. The further you go out the more money your paying. Lindenwold, Ashland, & Woodcrest to Philly 1 way is $3.00 and round trip is $6.00

I rode the other day and tested the speed. it maxes out at 65mph. I love the speed though. Franklin Square is supposed to reopen this year.
