Welcome! I’m Juliea.
Join my family and I as we share seasonal from scratch recipes, gardening, sourdough & homemaking.
We live in Idaho and buy beef from the farmer each year... So I cook a lot of roast and steak recipes. We also raise pigs, chickens, rabbits and my husband hunts elk, so I share those recipes we love!
Gardening in USDA hardy zone 6b, growing: Tomatoes, peppers, melons, strawberries, blackberries and raspberries are annual staples, but I really love growing flowers too!

Yes fresh air is a bonus, and I've also found if I hang it early in the morning I'll get some extra do on my clothes, which I firmly believes acts as a softener and extra yummy smell. According to the electric company I saved over $300 a year by doing this, but the most important reason I do it is to help conserve energy but my particular favorite is I put my shirts inside out come outside a little while later shake them put them right side out. So when they're dry I get to put them right back in the closet live it❣️ totally appreciate this video

PS that savings is for just one person's laundry so giving you a family I imagine yours would be more like 900 a year. 👍 Also wanted to give you a little life hack if you do your laundry after 10:00 p.m. and before 5:00 the electric rates go way down so you'll save on the washing and as well. Putting herbs and spices in ACV is not making vinegar. I was wanting instructions on HOW TO MAKE VINEGAR WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE ACV OR DISTILLED WHITE VINEGAR AT HOME
@@MatoNupai I’m sorry my friend… I’d live to make that video!
@@FarmhouseHarvest so would I. I know making vinegar is a two step process. 1. Fermenting sugar into alcohol 2. Activating acetobacters which are bacteria that converts the alcohol into acetic acid (vinegar) I have probably watched 50 videos on the process. Most notably videos by Heidi of the Rain Country RUclips channel, Mary of the Mary's Nest channel, and many more. I can ferment sugar into alcohol such as wine and ginger beer; but no matter how hard I try I can't get it to convert the alcohol into acetic acid. I see two possible problems 1. There are no acetobacters in my environment 2. I have to put a lid on the container I have two little dogs. I am the caregiver for my adopted sister who is on the autism spectrum, I can't leave the container open to the air because one of the three would knock it over leaving me with a mess to clean. I have even tried to pour the ferment from one container to another to introduce infuse oxygen into the ferment to encourage the conversion of alcohol to acetic acid and still nothing Good luck to your channel and hope you do well
I would not consider myself a particularly good cook, and this was the first time I have cooked a pork shoulder. I tried this recipe and it was melt-in-your-mouth delicious and tender! I followed the instructions to a T, and it turned out great! Ty
Just went through your video again and through all the instructions and found the measurements you listed at the bottom. Sorry I didn't read all the way to the end but I am anxious to make this I never thought of using cinnamon sugar to coat the loaf pans

Hey there, I just found your channel. Im not sure where your located but id reslly LOVE some starts. I've been trying to grow some raspberries for the last 3 years. I had a friend give me 3 starts this spring & they were doing realy good but were leaning so i tucked the top in a small opening in my sheds siding & it died very quickly. So another year with no fruit 😢 Anyway I see that yours are obviously red do you grow any other kinds colors or types? Golden? What kind do you grow? Anyway you seem to have an abundance of riches there so if you'd care to share id be VERY GRATEFUL & accept as many as you'd like to gift . Id say id have to get no less than 20 at this point to get 1 to grow successfully at this point ahahaha.😅But id be happy with a guft of only 1. Anyway thanks a bunch & Much L❤VE from Kentucky!
@@krenee2266 Good morning Krenee! Thanks for watching! We live in Idahos treasure Valley. So sorry that you’ve been struggling to grow raspberries! I’ve started 3 different raspberry patches at different homes we’ve lived in, and always started them with buckets of free starts that my mother in law has dug up and gifted me. These are thrones raspberries so they have sharp little needles along the came. They can scratch you when picking, but we are used to it and it’s not a problem. Thornless raspberries are very popular because they don’t gave those and are easier to pick. I only grow this one variety at this point. My friend grows the yellow variety and that are also delicious! If you are going to start a raspberry patch or row I’d definitely recommend starting with about 20 canes or starts. And making sure you get them in a sunny spot with the right supports, and watering system all ready, so you’re set up for success! I’d be happy to mail you starts, if you just cover the shipping. But it would be free if you got starts from a local gardener. Raspberries put up new starts all season. So this shouldn’t be a problem. (They put up most starts in the spring) .
@@FarmhouseHarvest Eww pointy dagery needles ya say? Fun!LoL 😂... Think your friend would be willing to share instead? LoL Nah I'd take what I could get when offered of generous spirit. If I get you a label for a if it fits it ships box USPS would that work? And would it be better you say to get them in Spring or at the end of Season? You mentioned different Season Raspberries do you have just the one season kind? As for getting them free here from someone unfortunately where I live we don't have many generous people everything is for sale noone wants to share stuff or give things away anymore. And not only that, they have the nerve to try & charge prices simular to in-store pricing. It's a shame. As for the 20 starts ahaha I was just being silly 😋 to state my batting average. I didnt know it would really take that many. For me I don't think I'd want a whole patch of thorny ones maybe accept as a usage as a border barrier. I'd 100% go for the Thornless ones though that would be awesome now that I think about it. Anyway, Thank you for your willingness to share. Just let me know when the best time would be. I'll contact you off here at an email or someplace you feel safe & get where to ship you a label when you want to ship. Thanks a bunch, your a Doll! as Always Much L♥VE from Kentucky!
@@krenee2266 you can plant starts and they do best in the spring, but you can also plant them in the fall.
@@FarmhouseHarvest Well I'm not sure about planting in our areas Fall. I'll look and see what the chances of survival are ahaha. As I said I'm 0 for 3 at this point. I'd want to give them there best chance. Either way let me know how & I'll get with ya for shipping & to arrange best time. Believe me I won't forget. I waited a whole year to get with a guy on Marketplace to try & buy walking onions from him. Then when I contacted him like 3 times in spring he was never available for pick up. I yell ya our area is strange. Still can't track down walking onions within 200 miles of my area. Ugh! 🤦♀️ I'm Food/Plant stressed. Lol everyone seems to live in such generous & plant swap/trade areas I'm stuck in some strange land here of weirdness. Ack!
What do you do with the fat bits that don't render down?
@@reneebean8509 hi Renee! Thanks for watching and asking…. I feed everything else to the dog and chickens;)
How do you harvest or collect the starts to make a new patch?
@@BradThomte thanks for asking Brad! We use a regular pointed shovel and dig the starts out leaving about 3 inches of dirt on all sides and keeping the roots intact. Then we plant those into the new patch!
