Just having a little fun during rehearsal. The audio is terrible but you get the idea.
Terrific ensemble playing! Five great brass players. Bravo!!!!

AMAZING!!!
There is an Eastman Brass Quintet version of this on RUclips that is interesting because Verne Reynolds himself is playing horn: ruclips.net/video/MviteDDiOIo/видео.html
First rate. But you sort of know that ahead of time seeing as it is CSO brass members. I have always felt that this type of music was rather challenging. I was fortunate enough to be one of the young musicians at the 1961 "Illinois Summer Youth Music" at the University of Illinois at Urbana. There were enough of us to form two orchestras. One of our pieces was Halsey Steven's "4 Pieces for Orchestra". I think ours was perhaps its one and only performance and our scores were handwritten. Many years later I found out he obviously derived this from four of the five pieces in his "5 Pieces for Band". And that our conductor was a close personal friend of Stevens. So now I know why we had that difficult piece of music to deal with as 8th grade age students. And that "other" orchestra had easier things like a medley from "The Sound of Music". But rehearsing and performing it made me much more interested in this type of music.
Adrian. The next time post something be sure to give the full name of the composer, just as courtesy to the deceased.
Oh yeah, right on the money!
Impecable performance! BRAVO.
That’s not how u say John’s name 😐

You’re right, good eye!
Thank you for your great playing!
They played this piece a lot better than it deserved.
Man, Mark will always be the next best thing to Bud!
What a wonderful perf of a lovely piece I’d never heard before! Is the music for the whole suite available to purchase? Or for rent?
Where I can watch the all concert?
Please see the description for the link to watch the entire concert (I don’t recall there being other brass pieces on this broadcast).
