Will Attard and Sarah Lambert-Gates work on an archaeological site on the Islay Sound, Western Hebrides. We wrote a song about the dig we supervise (for the University of Reading fieldschool). About the people that lived there 11,000 or so years ago and what life may have been like. The site's focus is a central hearth that was in use for over several thousand years. The chorus is written in a ...

Don't change anything. Your OOOOs over rhe banjola are beautiful and haunting.
I found your channel while I was looking for banjola videos. I'm glad I did. Your music is so good.
Fascinating
Great cover! You really transformed the song into something beautiful. That banjola sounds so smooth too.
@@hoshmoggen1746 thankyou so much!
That is amazing! I just wish I oud see what you're doing closer-up! I have a food garden and making these could really come in handy for beans, peas, and indeterminate tomatoes!!
So glad i found this channel
Wow this is an original too? 👏
@@NorthernLycanthrope yes
@@daughterofthewater Really enjoyed it! Would love to find some people to jam with
Love it! Have you heard of a band called Faun Fables? Think youd like them! Great playing
@@NorthernLycanthrope thankyou! Will check them out!
Beautiful playing!
Love the guitar in the background
Oh boy, I remember learning how to "braid" with "mimbre" back in high school.⌛️⌛️ I can say it required a lot of dedication, calculation and firm hands. We used to wet the branches so they were not as difficult to handle, and the teacher would rip off the entire thing if one of the crossings was not perfectly-looking.😭😭 The technique and materials are somewhat different but now as a grown up, you inspired me to try again with local materials and build 4 for my veggie patch. Thank you very much for your detailed explanation, your art is beautiful! Greetings from Costa Rica 🇨🇷💫✌🏼
Fab video...I gots to try this ASAP
Beautiful.
Thanks for a great video. I recently attended a "make a willow obelisk" session which was great....but i love your design more. Youre fab at demonstrating and teaching, thanks
Great video. What diameter did use for the base ?
Are there instructions available to make the turntable jig?
That's so neat. I'd love to attempt making one but unfortunately there are no willow branches available near me. I guess I can check online. Thanks for the tutorial.
beautiful artwork, thanks for sharing the techniques. Now to try and attempt to do this with the vines in my yard 💚
Beautiful rendition. I was watching the original Wicker Man film only the other day !!
You are an excellent teacher..
Super urađeno. Lepo, korisno, praktično za organske vrtove i cvetnjake.
3:40 That's the sound of a bee on the mic! I've recorded bee hives so I know the sound. Always makes me smile 🐝
Lovely ❤
Que bonito trabajo ❤
So beautiful. Thank You for Sharing.
Nice deep male voice accompanying the female singer. All together very relaxing and earthy. Thank you👏🌷
That was actually wonderful. I'm going to have a bash. I wonder if you can use any willow. We have lots already growing around the wetter parts of the farm.
This is amazing. A lot more complex than I was wanting to make for my garden. These are beautiful. Thank you for sharing
Dave, any tips on what to use as a spacer between the two disks of wood on your jig ? I'm thinking of making a couple of jigs for some obelisk weaving workshops
Sarah you have a strong voice a lovely voice. Maybe it's the acoustics but the instrument you play seems to be too loud and muffles your voice. I hope that's a help. I like the words of your song very timely for me❤
Absolutely brilliant
Lovely music for listening, or light house hold jobs, thank you sooo much. x
Thank you both for this wonderful music 🎶
Beautifully calming for the soul, thank you both. x
Beautiful! What would be the equivalent to this willow in the northeast USA?
Do you ever use Hazel as uprights
Such a good video. You are a super teacher Dave. Any chance we could have more detail on the making of a similar jig to your one.
3:40 fly in my ear!
a bee
That was magnificent ❤🎉🎉🎉🎉 thank you very much
❤
My friend, combine your skills with arborsculptural approaches... thank me later ;-)
Very curious about two things: what kind of alternative material would be good for this? Either for recycling purposes or to use a more local material than willow (it's type is ubiquitous but not all species work for this kinda thing)? Thank you so much for your incredibly helpful tutorial. I can't wait to try it myself!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful video! From North Alabama, USA
Hi how many uprights did you use and what lengths please .Great video
I was looking for a method of making a straight stick obelisk that looked a little unique. This didn't show me that, but I'll never ignore the location of a willow tree again. What a great way to make a bunch of unique garden goodies. Thanks for taking the time to record it.
Just wonderful work
Очаровательное пение наперегонки с птицами
I will try with bamboo as it’s cheap here! Don’t have willow. I can use a few of these but as mentioned earlier, looks easy but probably not! Beautiful end product! Wish I lived close to you, I’d come by and purchase a few!
A really great instructional video! Thank you very much. I loved learning this
Nice demo. Thanks. The gathering of your materials must take a lot of time and care. I don't have willow here . . . wonder if I could use cattails? Cheers
