The CSIPM (Civil Society and Indigenous Peoples' Mechanism for relations with the UN Committee on World Food Security) is the largest international mechanism of civil society organisations and indigenous peoples seeking to influence agriculture, food security and nutrition policies and actions - nationally, regionally and globally.
El MSCPI (Mecanismo de la Sociedad Civil y Pueblos Indígenas para las relaciones con el Comité de Seguridad Alimentaria de la ONU) es el mayor mecanismo internacional de la sociedad civil y de los pueblos indígenas en lo que refiere a influir en las políticas y acciones referentes a la agricultura, la seguridad alimentaria y la nutrición.

Key issues to strengthen urban and peri-urban food systems | Samuel Ikua (Kenya,HIC)
On 13 December, the first CFS Open-Ended Working Group meeting on Strengthening Urban and Peri-urban Food Systems took place. Samuel Ikua, CSIPM Coordination Committee member, shared the key priorities identified by the CSIPM Urban & Peri-urban Food Systems working group. These priorities include strengthening the policy recommendations through a human rights framework, an intersectional lense, and funding for implementation at local level. The working group also challenged the prevailing urbanisation paradigm. The CFS policy recommendations will be developed through 2025.
