Lake Monduran - Night Barramundi
After my previous trip to Lake Monduran in Queensland, I've found myself with a new obsession. Barramundi.
In this video, I chase big Barramundi at night using Livescope.
I tried a slightly different style of editing in this video which ended up being a good overall learning experience in editing and filming.
I hope you enjoy the video.

Lake Monduran Barramundi (120cm+ Barra)
Просмотров 16 тыс.Год назад
Welcome to my first video. In this video, I'm chasing metre Barramundi in Lake Monduran, Queensland. During this trip, I ended up catching 8 fish over the metre mark, with the biggest going 123cm. The video editing might seem a bit off, as I learn to film and edit these videos, I will hopefully get better at making them more structured and cinematic. I'm definitely not 100% happy with this vide...
Awesome edit mate 👌 keep them coming
@@harleyprice6127 Cheers man 🤙 will try too
Sweet sweet Vid. Hey what rod is that Daiwa you were using when vibing the Jackal?
@@ChasingGiants23 Cheers 🤙 I was using a Tierra 701HFS
@mitchkellyfishing Reckon it would be good for throwing Pointers and Reddicks as well?
@@ChasingGiants23 Yeah I have a few Redics that I throw around aswell. Any lure of that profile is gonna work just as good as another.
the big fish
@@porpaifishing 🤙🤙
Some quality fish there mate, she’s been fishing well, we’ve only caught probably 5-6 fish under a metre this year and they were mid to high 90’s every other fish has been a metre plus. What lights are you running up front for night travel?
@@Alan_lay Cheers mate, yeah there's been a lot of good fish coming out of there lately. I'm using four 4" kings light bars, 2 are set for side spread, 1 is straight forward for when on plane and the last is set slightly downward for when your not on plane.
Sweet, thanks for the reply, I’ve actually been looking at the little kings light bars and was wondering if they’d be up to the task….now I know…I’m lucky to have Mondy as my local so know it pretty well but I really need to upgrade my light game for night travel cos as you’d be aware that place is scary at night.
Beautiful spot and some great fish well done
@@mathewwood9968 Thanks mate 👍
Nice one mate!! 👌👌🔥👏👏
@@mattiamiecchi18 Thanks mate 🤙🤙
Did a good job getting that fish out of the trees
They certainly love getting themselves tangled in them 😂
Best night video quality I have seen on RUclips Mate keep up the good work.
@@t-roy6715 Thanks mate, appreciate that 👍
Keep the video coming mate. You do an amazing job.
@@AndrewMorley-f7j Thanks mate, I'll try to 🤙
Awesome cheers, haven't caught one at night so never had to worry about lighting. Just planning for the day I do
Great video mate, how do you set ya light up for a photo or hold up at the end . The lighting looks really good
@@brett1682 Cheers mate 👍 For lighting in the shots where I'm holding the fish, I just have a LED flat light, with adjustable brightness and colour attached to the top of the camera.
great vid bro and some good fishing you done well,, wouldnt worry about the footage it was awesome especially when your solo things can get intense
@@rynoj2209 Cheers mate 🤙 Barra certainly like to make things intense sometimes
Seen you at mondy mate you were going out at the same time howd you go? Looking forward to watching i managed 1 lost 2 those very suttle techniques you use in this video would of worked well on the weekend seems thats what they wanted they spooked easily
@@russellmcaleese3060 Good stuff mate 👍 I've been doing pretty good out there, long pauses have been the go when getting them to bite
Whens the next video coming big man?
@@BeloworAbove-BoA Trying to film another video as we speak mate 👍
Great vid mate. Full points on the sit down scope chair. That’s livin. Hahah
Thanks mate 🤙 haha yeah the chair is great when you're fishing all day
Awesome Barras !!! Could I know the rod and line were you using ? Thank you for sharing !!!
Cheers 👍 The spin setup is a Daiwa Tierra 701HFS with 20lb Siglon Braid. The baitcaster setup is a TT Blackadder BAC661XH with 40lb Suffix 832 braid. Both setups use 60lb Sunline FC Rock for leader 🤙
@@mitchkellyfishing Thank you very much,Mitch !!! Ciao : )
Great Video mate! I can't wait to get back up there after watching this!
Thanks mate, neither can I 😂
Gotta love those Barra, great vid.
Cheers 👍
Nothing like a big Barra. My best was a shade over 30 kg and 1.2 mtr , what a hoot. At Awoonga before the heavy rains up there. .Keep the Hunt going.
Gets the blood pumping 🤙
Probably one of the best Mondy Video I have ever seen mate. Awesome editing and awesome fish! It is an absolute effort to both fish while getting the drone up etc…. Been there myself.. big effort! 👏👏👏
Thanks mate 🤙 Yeah you want to focus on fishing but you also want to get the moment on camera, can be a pain sometimes.
Awesome first baseline video. Easy to watch. Most of the 'fighting content' is "first person" (chest mount) wouldn't mind seeing a few more from that back camera you had set up. Otherwise cant wait to see what the next video is
Thanks mate 🤙 Yeah I wouldn't mind some different angles too. Hopefully all that should improve in future videos. Cheers 👍
Great clip. Watched it a few times now. Love the cinematics🐟🐟🐟
Thanks mate, appreciate it 👍
Great stuff mate, few very solid Monduran Slabs! How’s the Prop on those big girls, easy to see how much HP they have when hooked up! Love a good drag sound anytime! Well done and look forward to the next one! 🎣🔥👍🏽
Cheers mate, yeah there's no stopping them, best to just let them do their thing and chase them down 🤙 I've filmed the next video so hopefully I got some decent footage
Nice 🤘🏻
🤙
Great vid and cracker fish mate. 🎣🎣
I should have finished watching the whole thing before comenting. My bad..Amazing fishing, probably the best ive seen at Monduran. Be wating for more content. Cheers mate.
That's all good mate. I'm finding it hard to remember to film some stuff because I'm to focused on the fishing 🤣
I think you shouldnt worry about the cinematic crap. The fishing is what people want to see.Maybe show the luresand explain times and weather, temps etc.Your obviously a good angler, teach and show us how to be successful. I am subscibing.Great vid.
Appreciate the feedback mate, should be some more technical talk in the next video. I like making cinematic videos probably just as much as I like fishing 👍
That was a great video mate , one of the best I've seen on Lake Misery .. camera work was awesome and so were the fish. Looking forward to your next one...
Thanks Mate, appreciate the feedback 🤙already working on the next one
Great video, I have subscribed and look forward to seeing more

great first clip mate!! And awesome fish !! Looking forward to following your journey :-)
Thanks mate 🤙
Good video mate. What size screen is your Garmin you use for Livescope ? I've got a 9inch but wondering if it would be to small.
Cheers, mine's a 12" but I reckon 9" would be fine.
Beautiful catch! What size tatula is that ?
Thanks 👍 It's a 150HS tatula
Well done mate, sure did catch some quality fish! Great video 🙂
Cheers mate 👍 There's some good fish in that lake. Thanks for watching
